I began with stock and decided to bootloader unlock, TWRP unencrypted, ROOT with MagiskSU to no avail. Is anyone unencrypted and using MagiskSU?
Cuz my phone never booted.
For me, no. When booting into the OS, it'll just boot back to TWRP, no matter how many times i try.
I asked topjohnwu if he was getting a OnePlus 5 so hopefully he can figure out what's going on. Because SuperSU works
It does work. For Users who want to Decrypt Data have to Flash DM Verity Zip and Format Data.
1. Boot into TWRP Recovery and allow system modifications.
2. Swipe right and enable modifications.
3. Select your preferred Language, Tap “Never show this screen on boot again,” and Swipe allow modification.
4. Download and transfer the latest no-verity-opt-encrypt zip to your device over MTP and flash it ( https://build.nethunter.com/android-tools/no-verity-opt-encrypt/ )
(This will also allow you to use [Format Data] to completely disable your encryption if desired)
Go to “Wipe” section and tap “Format Data”, and type “yes” (If you want to mount internal storage)
Transfer Magisk Or SuperSU to the device over MTP to your Oneplus 5
Swipe to confirm the flash
Reboot System
Yes, this is the method what is not working for me :/
Yeah, I'm pretty sure he just copy and pasted info. I'm talking about real usage
Has anyone found a way to fix or get around this ?
This method just puts me in a boot loop.
After more than 1x times of trial and error, I've finally found out how to decrypt data on stock OOS with magisk.
Decrypt Data on stock OOS with magisk:
1. Go to “Wipe” section, tap “Format Data”, and type “yes”
2. Transfer no_verity_op5.zip to the device over MTP
3. Go to “Install” section, select no_verity_op5.zip, and swipe to confirm the flash
4. Go to “Install” section, select magisk.zip, and swipe to confirm the flash
PS. you should format data before flashing no_verity_op5.zip.
[Proof]
[How it work?]
OnePlus 5 uses FBE(File-Based Encryption) to encrypt data partition.
The latest no-verity-opt-encrypt zip ( https://build.nethunter.com/android-tools/no-verity-opt-encrypt/ ) only replace "forceencrypt" to "encryptable".
It didn't replace "fileencryption", so your data partition is still encrypted.
In order to decrypt data partition, I modified the no-verity-opt-encrypt.zip by myself.
The no_verity_op5.zip will replace "fileencryption" to "encryptable".

@snowwolf725 excellent work, my MoKee & Octo roms work great with Magisk because of you
I advise to you create a topic just for the new zip "no_verity_op5.zip"!
What link?
---------- Post added at 15:50 ---------- Previous post was at 15:36 ----------
Yes for whatever reason the original posts had it the other way around. They had it flashing the no opt zip first then formatting data
Does this wipe/delete Internal storage?
Answered my own question:
"Format Data" wipes the entire internal storage......and SD card.
no-verity-opt-encrypt was updated to no-verity-opt-encrypt-6.0.zip on November 22nd. Are you going to do the update snowwolf725 ?

Any help if I keep getting this? I have followed your steps exactly. Is this supposed to work with android 10? I also tried using the no-verity-opt file to no avail.
Thanks!

Every ICS, JB ROM developer will have a Flashing guide in their ROM download page so you can use that guide. But this guide includes a strict requirement detail to avoid any problems for Noobs
Requirements :-
1) Rooted i9000 with CWM recovery
2) Do not have any sort of lagfix applied (UNDO FIRST) ( Never do a factory reset when you have LagFix applied)
3) Backup your EFS folder to Ext.SD card or PC. (Why and How to)
4) Battery is fully charged
5) SIM Card and Ext.SD card removed
6) Phone is unlocked (NO USIM lock present)
7) You can do a nandroid backup, If you like to have one for future reversion.
[For a CLEAN Flash,(If you intent to do this way, you will lose everything on your SD card by doing this, so save your Backups and important data files to PC First.) IN CWM you can go to mounts and Storage and format every partition, after that, mount USB storage and connect your phone to PC to copy CM9 and gapps to your SD card] Avoid this, IF you are a Noob
Download:- For CM 9 (ICS) or your chosen Files for ICS
CM9 from http://get.cm/get/jenkins/7080/cm-9.1.0-galaxysmtd.zip
gapps from http://goo.im/gapps/gapps-ics-20120429-signed.zip
or you can download the latest CM 10 (Jelly Bean) from http://get.cm/?device=galaxysmtd and latest Gapps from http://goo.im/gapps/ or even CM 7.2 from same links NOTE:- Always Start with a Gingerbread 2.3.6, Flash ICS First before Flashing Jelly bean , this will be the proper procedure, do not jump from GingerBread to Jellybean
8) just place this two Zip files in your Internal SD card by copy paste.
Flashing in CWM:- This example is for CM 9 . IT will the same for CM 10 or CM 7.2
Use CWM app and select "Reboot into ClockWorkMod recovery" or the way you know how to. (Use volume keys to scroll & power key to select in ClockWorkMod)
1) Do a WIPE (factory reset + wipe cache partition)
2) chose "install zip from sdcard"
3) Select "choose zip from sdcard"
4) Select "cm-9.1.0-galaxysmtd.zip" or your chosen ROM > Select "Yes" and Flashing will take place
Flash the same file one more time, Meaning repeat steps 2,3 & 4 again for ICS to avoid problems
Now Flash the Gapps
5) Select "choose zip from sdcard"
6) Select "gapps-ics-20120429-signed.zip" or latest gapps> Select "Yes" and Flashing will take place
Once complete, select "Go Back" and "reboot system". Thats it, :victory: you will be on ICS.
If it failed to load into ICS, First power down, pull out Battery, SIM CARD, and EXT.SD card, press power button for a minute , than power up without SIM and Ext.SD Card.. and test again.
In the event you get a bootloop because you rebooted the phone without completing the process and can't enter CWM recovery, flash an ICS Semaphore kernel using Odin in download mode, then enter CWM and flash again the steps 2 to 6
Check this out!You , YES! you are an " Android ". Not your phone but U.

Hi everyone,
I want to show u how to upgade your LG G3s/beat to adroid 7.1.1 lineage OS.
It has taken me some time to find and to gather all needed files but i was succesfull
So I had my lg running on android 5.1 Lollipop but I had problem cause my device was blocked by operator. So first of all we need to
root the device (when u have your device rooted just simply skip this step)
Step 1: rooting the device (working for all devices)
All you need to do is just simply download and install Kingroot -- https://kingroot.net/
then you hit the root button it will take just a while to root your device
note- i really dont like this chinese rooting program but it is the only way to root operator-blocked device !
Step 2: installing custom recovery
download and istall TWRP recovery -- https://ulozto.sk/!lisJevpDG1oS/recovery-d722l-apk
hit the install recovery button
now read CAREFULLY- when you want to enter the recovery turn off the device, when the device is turned off now hit the
volume DOWN and power button at the same time wait for LG logo appears release the press buttons and press them again untill the factory reset option appears, now when you have correctly installed recovery just press YES delete all data (2times)
(move with up and down keys and select with power button)

"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Step 3: okay now you are in recovery
hit the WIPE button first you need to SWIPE to FACTORY RESET (this will erase all of your data so before doing that backup your data when you want) then hit advaced wipe select all files apart from SD card (unless u want to wipe ur SD card data )
and swipe to wipe
Step 4: installing OS
here is the lineage OS(for model D722 may work for D724 and others ) -- https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=385035244224413403 if u have problems to install this ROM try one of these-- https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=142084&sort_by=date&sort_dir=DESC
copy the OS . zip file to your SD
now hit the istall button in recovery and select OS
now wait untill installing is finished
now hit the reboot button in recovery and select reboot to SYSTEM first booting may take a while
NOW you have OS installed and you are runnning clear OS without any s*it APPS
Step 5: go to --settings and allow developer options, select allow root acess but OOPS what u see. U can only allow root acess
on ADB not apps so u need to root device. Its very simple
Download this root file .zip -- https://ulozto.sk/!rzlO9PPtP5yy/addonsu-arm-signed-zip
now reboot into recovery and install this zip go to setting--developer and now select ADB and APPS root option
and WOALAA you are rooted
NOTE: if you have problems entering the SD card in the file exporer just simply reboot into recovery open file manager in
advanced option in recovery and delete Android secure folder in your SD card
First time when you open the camera hit on the video button and app will force close. This will happen only once dont be afraid.
Now reopen the camera and enjoy!

Hello! Here is everything i did to get to this point:
• Unlocked the bootloader
• Installed TWRP
• Took nandroid backup
• Wiped everything (excluding USB-OTG)
• Tried to move files to the phone, and it created a no-name file with the windows drive icon
• Tried to delete the file, couldn't.
• Disconnected from PC, tried to wipe Internal Storage again, said " Error opening: '/data/media' (No such file or directory) "
{

}
And it still continues to say "Error opening: '/data/media' (No such file or directory)" every time i try to wipe the Internal Storage, doesn't matter if MTP enabled/disabled or if connected to PC or not.
So now i cannot move any files or folders to the phone, when i try, it does nothing.
When i try to create a directory on the phone, just says this (see image below) or hangs Windows Explorer.
I did all of this following this guide: https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-5/how-to/oneplus-5-unlock-bootloader-flash-twrp-t3624877
TWRP IMG used: Bluspark TWRP
I did NOT flash supersu or magisk, because i was going to install ResurrectionRemix ROM on the phone after all this. Also i did not reboot to OOS after installing TWRP, just wiped everything and i cannot move anything to the memory now.
[EDIT] When i go to Wipe>Advanced Wipe>Select Internal Storage>Click Repair or Change File System it says "Invalid partition selection"
What should i do? I hope i didn't somehow brick my brand new phone :crying:
did you try flash TWRP recovery "again" via fastboot? so restart phone in fastboot mode> flash recovery via ADB (or just copy TWRP recovery.img to your excisting TWRP and flash again as "recovery">reboot) You should than have a clean recovery. Than wipe everything also (incl. format data.) Than reboot in recovery and copy ROM file, Gapps, Magisk etc..etc.. from pc and start from a clean "scratch"
Edit: i had this kind of issue also while flashing unofficial Oreo LOS build. I ****ed it up also. Keep in mind as long as your PC reconize your device you are totally NOT bricked. So don't worry!!!
I solved it myself somehow...
Sorry about this whole post, i just somehow got this working when i tried to sideload an img file (ik, i'm a genious) it said "corrupted zip file" and now i can see everything again on the Internal Storage... wow.. How do i close a thread now?
Glad it worked out!
I think only a Forum Moderator can close threads.
Oh, ok. Do i need to contact one or do something so they can remove/close the thread? Thanks for the fast response anyways!

Hi I finally decided to send my z3c D5803 in for repair.
I want to remove any sensitive data from the device.
It runs on rooted Android 5.1.1 and has TWRP 2.8.7.0 installed. Over the time I installed a lot of xposed modules and tweaked a lot of settings. So I really want to keep my exact system image.
I have several Questions for every step:
1. Which partitions should I backup

}
According to What should I back up in TWRP?
`The default backup options in TWRP are system, data, and boot`
1.1 Is `Kernel Image` the same as boot ?
1.2. I just go with the defualt settings ?
2. My first simple idea was to remove the external SDcard after the backup from step 1 and perform a "factory reset" using TWRP:
2.1 root and TWRP is preserved ?
3. When the phone is back from repair I just boot in recovery and recover only the /data partition from the inserted SDcard ?
3.1
Is wiping /data enough to remove all sensitive data ( password manager app) [ SdCard removed of course ] ?
What about XPOSED Modules that maybe contain sensitive data ?
4. I guess the TWRP factory reset does not secure erase data ?
4.1 Does anyone know the method that TWRP uses to remove the data from the /data partition?
-> I read about encrypt the phone but a lot of discussions say that you have to unroot before and I guess this would destroy my whole plan of just erasing the /data partition ?
4.1 Does anybody know and tested method to add a additional layer of security.
I found this:
Normal erasing via TWRP should be enough. But if you want to erase all of your data on the phone then you need to execute the TRIM command on your flash storage.
You can do this on TWRP by following the steps:
– Mount the /system partition
– Go to Advanced and then Terminal Command
– Execute the command to TRIM /system partition:
fstrim -v /system
– Execute the command to TRIM /data partition:
fstrim -v /data
– Execute the command to TRIM /cache partition:
fstrim -v /cache
When you delete data from your storage, the actual data is not cleaned but the link to the internal blocks (where the actual data is stored) is made as invalid or the block is made as dirty.
TRIM command is designed specifically for flash storage. When you execute TRIM command on flash storage, it cleans all the data of all the blocks.
NOTE:
But you need to be careful, as the TRIM actually erases block by block and flash storage has limited erase and write cycles.

Well personally it doesn't really matter but backup Data,System and Boot(kernel image) and if you really want to remove everything transfer pictures to your computer and wipe internal storage
And when you backup everything will be kept and when you wipe everything will be wiped including password managers and etc,and when you restore it back everything will be as you left it with everything on your device as before.
