Feel a lot smoother thanks B577 so far.
Hi ! What do you mean by "a lot smoother" ? Any other people can provide feedback ? One question I have : is it more flexible with notifications ? In B577 the only apps allowed to always run in the background and send notifications when not running are the ones that have an account in the phone's settings, only after having set at least 4 different settings to allow them to though, for example I did not manage to get notifications for Draw Something or I have to keep it open all the time in the "recent apps" tab. Is it any better with this release ?

I finished my upgrading to B589 on June 27. I found at least the available memory is more than ever before.
Yes, a week ago, and it feels like the battery drain is much slower than before. Otherwise, not a big deal...

You must debrand your phone if you want to flash diffrant system like L29C636 or L29C432 and must have unlocked bootloader and twrp and root,,,, and the best system is Chinese OS.. I have L29C185 and debranded to DL00b592 and have kangvip b592 but you must have unlocked bootloader and twrp recovery to do this.
OR
You can keep your sytem AL10b589 and install google play from Chinese market i think "hiapp".

Hy. I am new to this forum and I have a problem. I have by mistake mostly, download Lollipop upgrade to my Galaxy Note 4, but fortunately I haven't installed it yet.
Because I have read a lot, let say not so nice things about 5.0.1 Lollipop upgrade - in comparison to Kitkat 4.4.4., could anybody help me: how to delete the update file from my phone

force stop them, at every reboot
if you feel brave there is a tool to disable system apps without root, search for "Debloater", you have to know the exact name of the application you want to disable
please be careful with this program, don't touch apps that you don't know what they are, because one mistake and you will have to factory reset your device, don't blame it on me if something goes wrong
---------- Post added at 01:19 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:14 PM ----------
Also, if you don't care being without root, you can upgrade to 5.1.1 lollipop, that fixes battery , stagefright bugs, feels smoother, and other things bugged on 5.0.1

Many tnx again for quick response. I have checked out you SW proposal - "Debloater" and have decided not to use it. Further I would like by all means upgrade now directly to 5.1.1. Lollipop - there is just one major issue - in Slovenia 5.1.1.1 still isn't available for Note 4. On the other hand even Android M is at hand for some (Google) phones.
Could you, or anybody else come up with another idea? (beside to root the phone). Tnx in advance.

No bugs so far, battery life decent, bt working, dunno about other european sim cards than finland, but they should work. I dirty flashed B550 via fastboot, build number shows B507 after flash but dont let it fool you. Google keyboard was working after OTA flash, dont expect keyboard with dirty flash B550. Hope it helps

I believe you're ****ed m8 :/ you could try to boot your device into recovery and seek if you can get product id via adb since it works on recovery.
Or try to do wipe and boot if it works, on what build you tried installing that OTA on?
After some tweaks i made to io and entropy like i always do, i managed to get nice score in antutu! Also i found one small bug in beta: you cant set lockscreen wallpaper other than the one in homescreen. But overall awesome OS

You can set different wallpaper, it just asks you after you crop and set the "illusion" effect to which you want to set it to, this method is via gallery not themes app

"B550 via fastboot" in mode unbrick?
I've been working at this non-stop for the past week, and I've finally found a way. I am not able to flash a European ROM on the Chinese Mate 9.
I came very close to bricking my device, so I'm currently making sure of the method. Here is what it looks like:
http://imgur.com/a/1ONOF
(I am long-pressing the home button to show it's fully google-ized, in both pictures, but I took my hand out of the picture for paranoia purposes)
So, how is it done? Through eRecovery. I will release the full method once I have tested it enough for public consumption, because I don't want people bricking their devices.
How does it work? It's... interesting.
The version showing up on the phone is the last Chinese firmware which was installed. It doesn't update to show what version it is. In the imgur picture, for instance, it says B109SP01, but it's actually B115 running on it. The phone still thinks it's a Chinese phone, so if you try to get an OTA, you'll probably be getting a Chinese OTA which will not work correctly. So in that sense, it's a bastardized version, and OTAs/updates will not work normally -- You'll have to flash them through a different method.
The positive side is, Google works. Completely. It comes installed out of the gate with account sync, and so on. Other than being Google-fied, some other differences include the permissions menu, the keyboard (SwiftKey is default), and a few other things here and there. The default theme looks strange, and I think it has to do with the cust partition not matching the actual model. This is something I'm currently looking into before release. I'm also looking into using version B122 (or newer if it becomes available) instead of 115.
I'm sure many of you want to get your hands on the European firmware and the method to install it. If you're interested in testing despite one-day-old pre-beta status, shoot me a PM, and I'll try to get you hooked up. In the future, because this method will require a lot of data transfer, I'm considering charging some money to people who download it, and setting up a proper server.
Anyway, for now, know that it's possible, and if you want to do it right away, get in touch with me and I'll try to help!
Update: I have now verified that it's possible to go back to the Chinese ROM. I should have something for those who contacted me wanting to test tomorrow. Since this is a LOT of work, priority will be given to those willing to make a donation.
Although I don't have a Chinese M9 I appreciate your efforts as this opens up the way to flashing other stock and maybe even custom ROM's. Well done!

Unfortunately, I think that custom ROMs will not work with this method, because they're not signed by Huawei.
Wow, That's great news.
I really appreciate your efforts.
I think that you can get a little bit of money in return for your efforts.
I would like to participate in this plan.
Please notify me when the procedure is completed.
Thanks again!
So, here's where we are at right now:
We can flash the system partition of a European firmware, no problem. There's seemingly no issue there.
Where we get the issue is when we look at the cust partition. Because we can't change the actual region of the phone from all/cn to hw/eu, for example, the cust partition has issues. What I mean by issues is, you don't get any of the default themes, various software might be missing features, and so on. Your phone's model number also appears to change from MHA-AL00 to M300-AL00 if you flash the non-Chinese cust partition. When this happens, things go crazy, and you cannot see a proper version number, build number, or model number.
I am looking into making a 'bastardized' version of something to flash, using a Chinese cust partition with an international system rom. Theoretically, this could fix the issues to an extent. It will, however, probably give you a warning upon boot-up that the system has been tampered with, and so on. I will have more information later tonight, Japan time, when I get a chance to work on it some more.
The programs which go missing on a flash of the European firmware are the following:
AutoInStallAPKFromMcc HPLegacyPlugin HwPhoneService PlayGames
Books HwCloudDrive_Local LatinImeGoogle PlusOne
ChromeHomePage HwID Newsstand PredefinedEapSim
GameBoxGlobal HwOUC OMACP talkback
Appmanager HwBetaClub Instagram_Stub Todoist
Booking HwHealthPlatform_OVE Installer Todoist_ntp
DisableTodoistReceiver HwLogUploadService NewsRepublic Twitter
Facebook_Stub HwOUCBeta ProjectMenuAct WPS
Along with all the included themes, and the auto-installer which mounts via USB when you plug the phone in.
Obviously, some of these files are more important than others. All of the things really vital to being able to use the phone can likely be loaded via a Chinese cust partition, but the versions are probably different from the european versions.
Update:
I've obtained a server and am currently setting things up to bring this to the public. The first stage will be a private test. I'm still willing to take some testers who are willing to put their phones in the line of fire! I don't think the private test will launch today, because a new International B126 ROM just came out, so I'm going to base my work off of that for now.
After all the kinks are worked out, I will develop some kind of system for the general public to use. Eventually, this system will be one where you configure your DNS to my server, log into a website, choose what firmware you want to flash, then use eRecovery and that firmware will flash to your phone. I will have to customize all of the international firmware to work perfectly on Chinese devices, and I've yet to do that, but will be working on it. If there's a need, I can expand this system to other Huawei phones. It's exciting times for Mate 9 owners.
Hi duraraa
I have just received my 128g mate 9 in France. I will be happy tomake a donation and participate to the test. Please let me know.

Sure, thank you for your interest. In the meantime, if you are currently on a version like B115 or higher, please downgrade to B106 / B109SP01 so you are familiar with the process.
Update: Now that we can install Google framework on the Chinese latest firmware, I have decided to cancel this project for now. I may keep a server alive to upload to unsupported/beta firmwares, but trying to get the European firmware working well on the Chinese Mate 9 is no longer a priority.
Which version of the firmware Duraraa ?

Mate 9 from Taiwan
Hi everyone, keeping an eye on the market I found a very tempting offer on the 64GB version - HUAWEI Mate 9 64GB 4G Dual Sim SIM FREE/ UNLOCKED .
Now, my knowledge of ROM flashing is "level: what is a ROM?", but I am reading lots on the subject , but a couple of months ago I bought a P9 for my wife, chinese Al00 version, no problems to install Google Play but still many things are in chinese, the language correction for english or other EU languages sucks. That is why I decided not to go for Chinese versions unless there were exaustive guides on how to flash the mobile to an international or better european ROM.
Said all that, I wonder if anyone has found an easy way to solve the above mentioned issues - I assume everyone with a chinese version will have similar problems - and if you solved them otherwise.
Thanks for any information you might provide, and sorry if I missed key info to have this question properly addressed, but I will be happy to add it if asked.
Cheers,
Daniele
Please see the original FunkyHuawei thread for information:

If you have a Mate 9 Pro/Porsche, you can now use FunkyHuawei to recover firmware in eRecovery. Initially, we support the Chinese edition (LON-AL00), the Middle East/North Africa edition (LON-L29C185) and the Worldwide Porsche (LON-L29C721).
Support for other variants will be added as it becomes possible to do so. (If anyone has a device they can donate to me for testing, it will help! PM me.)
Please keep discussion of Mate 9 Pro/Porsche usage of FunkyHuawei in this thread.
Make sure you only flash firmware compatible with your device! LON is Mate 9 Pro/Porsche. MHA is for the regular Mate 9.

I don't have a mate 9 pro so.i can't be sure. If you would like to be a tester I can probably get it working but you will most likely have the caveat of missing a few features like themes updates exchange sync and other things that go missing when the non matching regions firmware is installed.
If you are able to unlock the bootloader and install TWRP we can likely do better though.

I see. So, i'll be correct when i assume that cross switching of rom will cause some functions to not work such as themes, sync, and updates. In this case, i feel, its always better to unlock the bootloader and install TWRP, that way i can have a fully functioning phone. Actually, the only nuisance i have at the moment is with the Mandarin characters used in HiVoice app, Magazine unlock screen, and the launcher. So my next question is, is it possible for you to pull those apps from a different region's firmware that you provide, then have them replaced onto my current phone? This should remove the need for me to cross switch and/or unlock the bootloader.
If the above mentioned is not possible, Could you kindly provide me a link on how to unlock Huawei bootloader? I'm a samsung user, so this is my first experience with Huawei, so at the moment i am very clueless.

There actually is no HiVoice assistant except in Chinese in the Chinese firmware. The English version only lets you make a call.
Regardless these are system apps and part of the firmware so it's not possible to cross install from a different version. Unlocking the bootloader and using TWRP is your best bet. For a Chinese phone please look at the getting a bootloader unlock code for the details but you'll need to stay logged in to hicloud for 2 weeks and then get in touch with Huawei support, in Chinese language

Hi all,
I have Mate 9 Pro 64 GB (LON-AL00), and runing on Chinese firmware. i want change to Middle East or any worldwide/international ROM. which one i should select from drop down from www.funkyhuawei.com? advise me please.
thanks for your work! i may wouldn't need it, but great job
Thanks to a lot of persistence from @Oweida who wanted to rebrand regardless of risk, I now have a preliminary solution to rebrand the Mate 9 Pro. We can rebrand any Mate 9 Pro to any version, but I recommend the LON-L29C636 version, which has the most firmware availability right now.
If you have a bricked Mate 9 Pro, or a Mate 9 Pro with an unlocked bootloader which you want to rebrand, please get in touch. You will need some kind of USB storage you can plug in with an mhl adapter, and knowledge of how to do things like set your DNS, and how to flash things in TWRP, etc. Right now, I am helping people rebrand to C636 spcseas version, which I can support the best in FunkyHuawei so far, but the next step will be rebranding to Porsche.
I know there were a few people in this thread with bricked Mate 9 Pro that they couldn't recover. Please get in touch with me if you want to attempt recovery/rebranding. Send me a PM, and let me know your user name on FunkyHuawei so I can set things up for you.
I might also mention that we can now rebrand the Mate 9 to any region we want, including USA, Japan, India, and even rebrand a Mate 9 to Mate 9 Pro (I have no idea why you'd want to, though.). The only problem is, there is no firmware available for most of these regions yet, so it's not something useful, just possible, at this point.

Link is no longer valid, can you repost?
But why Unlock your mla-l03 ? theres no root/rom available yet for our devices except real nice themes so,i wouldnt bother trying to play in unlocking or root with a great chance of failingor worse brick your beloved Nova :crying:
Anyway...here ya go... Its on this page...you'll have to create a huawei account
just below the search bar
http://emui.huawei.com/en/plugin/hwdownload/download
or
http double slash emui dot huawei dot com/en/plugin/hwdownload/download
i too,at the beginning when i got the nova plus,i immediately searched on the web fo infos about unblocking and rooting and roms but,the phone is ''yet too young'' and theres really a lack of information especially for MLA-L03...and its still the same today...
and huawei are wise enaugh to prevent wrong flashing...the updated nougat's package must match the exact numbers on your device...if theres a difference in the numbers sequence,it will fail to upgrade....
i think the best way to upgrade is....wait for the real one....It may be long to arrive but, will hopefully will have no bugs that some are experiencing with the beta that have been release elsewhere
I was running MLA-L03 C654B140 on my ont fido Nova Plus and i used to FF to grab the MLA-L03 C578B302 Nougat ota update and it installed with no issue through the stock updated app with FF proxy. Non rooted with locked bootloader. So some version switching is possible with ota upgrades. Phone is flawless amd much faster on Android 7 / Emui 5 and all my data was intact including settings like usual ota.

Ya it's gone in all the releases I've used to date of Nougat, I use ff to dl the firmware then install from sd via the three button update route. Works easy enough till a final release of Nougat for my phone is released. Still eagerly awaiting the Huawei announced roll back app coming soon to go back to MM myself unless the final version has mirror link included. But as of yet even my lg g5 lost the capability when upgraded to 7.0 ota. Maybe it's in the 7.1.1 if we ever see that.

Hey bro, canadian mla-l03 here, how the heck do I get an app drawer, or get a 3rd party launcher to stick on this phone? Picked it up last night. No idea how to get an app drawer. Was going to upgrade to Nougat but I read your post in another thread saying you dont reccomend it, but I read on Nougat at least theres a choice for app drawer?
No app drawer on MM,only on Nougat...For the other laucher,by default, you have to set it in settings,APP/SETTINGS
im using ADW2 launcher since my phone got broken (updated via FF damnit! )
You can upgrade to Nougat but dont do it with FF firmware (or others way)
Only good way is to do it when the phone tells you theres an update (official OTA)
