I have MIUI 8.6 (7.6.10) from xiaomi.eu, and it has ClearMotion by default. Today I've tested it using engineering mode setting demo = 1 to show the split screen in video playback. It worked using default video player and mxplayer using hw codec (on hw+ it didn't worked). I don't know if is a problem with youtube, it didn't show the split screen test but it seems like ClearMotion is activated, comparing the motion with another phone, playing same video. What ROM do you have? Also you can look in build.prop for some references of clearmotion

It will not work with youtube, but most of micromax phones clearmotion will work on youtube, game, etc. To get work On miui, eui (letv) roms mx player running on HW decode is must.

Try digging around the forums for ways to use it, I'm sure there is someone on the MIUI official forums that did it.

Qhd 60fps video playback lag on youtube

Hello, I have a Galaxy S7 Edge and I want to play QHD videos at 60fps on YouTube. however when I select 1440p60fps on YouTube, the video starts lagging. There's no problem with watching Normal QHD videos or even 1080p 60fps videos on YouTube. Any fix? I really would love to watch QHD 60fps videos.
I have the latest SuperMan Rom & the iYTBP-vanced Magisk Module and i don't have any issues even with 2160P. I use the VP9 codec for max resolution of [email protected] and never any lagging at all.
Any rootless solution?

Hey man thanks for responding. Can you help me out with a solution that doesn't require me to flash a custom rom? Coz Sam Pay has become a daily driver for my transactions

Make sure your Resolution is set to WQHD i.e 1440x2560. Then restart the YouTube app.. you will see the 1440p60fps option in available videos.
yeah i did and its playing like a slow motion when i played it using the data.. when switched to wifi .. it worked well!
My wifi and mobile data has almost same bandwidth.. But I didn't try it using wifi.. Let me try it out on wifi. hopefully it works.
its not about bandwidth.. its about processing... 4g uses more cpu power than wifi.. u can try 3g too i guess it will work too
well, experienced almost the same lag but not on youtube.
a short clip downloaded from youtube, resolution 2160x3840 @60fps. the video lags a lot but the sound continues to play

Why can't Leeco Le Pro 3 Elite ( x722 ) play HEVC Main 10 tier (/ 10-bit) videos?

I made a small search on some of the forums here and I didn't find anything similar to my issue. It's my first time posting here, so I'm not very sure if this is the right place to open a new thread for my issue.
I am very basicly familiar with smartphone terminology, so please excuse any such misuse or any providing of unnecessary information. I also might be repetitively descriptive.
Phone: LeEco Le PRo 3 Elite (x722)
ROM: EUI 5.8.020S (preinstalled from Bangood)
Software used: MX Player
My issue: can't play videos in HEVC 10-bit (Main 10 profile). Why?
Now I'll try to be more descriptive.
Whenever I try to play a video in HEVC 10-bit (Main 10 profile), the screen colours during playback will go mostly red green blue, etc. I used this website- jell.yfish.us (you can google to see if it's legit) - to download each sample for testing, while using MX Player with the HW and HW+ decoders. What I noticed was that the phone would play without a problem any HEVC 8-bit (Main profile) video from those available in the above site, but it wouldn't be able to reproduce colours normally, as I already said, even with the smallest in file size HEVC 10-bit video. Even when selecting the SW decoder (which I suppose stands for SoftWare decoder?) on MX Player, the phone would struggle a lot and playback would lag considerably.
On the other hand, I have my Xiaomi Mi 5 (Standard), which has the same Snapdragon 820 chipset, but a slightly worse (?) CPU according to GSMArena, while running on a MIUI 9 Global 8.3.29 rom. So, this phone would play flawlessly, again on the MX Player app (HW decoder), almost any the HEVC 10-bit video sample included in the aforementioned website. Only with the exception of those videos with an overall Bitrate over 250 Mbps.
My questions are:
1) Why is LeEco x722 in the above condition, not capable of playing any 10-bit HEVC videos, while Xiaomi Mi 5 is totally able to play them, when both phones use the same chipset, which supports H.265 codec playback?
2) Is there any possible way so that x722 can be able to play these kinds of videos?
Just because a phone is capable of doing something, it doesn't mean it can do it natively. The x722's camera is capable of recording 60fps too, but you'd need to activate the feature with special code (perhaps through a Magisk package). The OnePlus 5 can stream HD footage but can't do it through Netflix unless you mail your phone in for OnePlus to enable Widevine DRM on it.
I don't know any specific ways to get HEVC playback to work, but you could try switching to a custom ROM like LOS.
Install MX Player

Hi! I have the exact same problem - same phone, same rom. Were you able to find a solution? Have you tried custom roms? I'm pretty content with this rom, but if custom rom will fix this problem, I'll look into it.
Try to use genesys 26S, or stock eui 6 rom (4pda link), or search aicp build with working l1, or just try latest los 16

[SM-G9750] [SOFTWARE BUG] Video playback being throttled or not utilizing CPU / GPU?

For owners of the SM-G9750 (S10+ CN / HK model), I'm trying to get some verification here on a possible software issue. I'm trying to play a 4K video file locally (specifically a 4K HDR H.265 / HEVC MKV @ 24fps video, but I believe this bug may apply to all UHD video playback - I'm not sure as I haven't done enough testing) and it seems to be dropping frames and stuttering throughout. I cannot get it to play smoothly despite trying all of the following:
Setting the phone to Performance mode.
Trying different players - in this case, the default video player, MX Player Pro and VLC.
Moving the video player app to Game Launcher and optimizing them for performance.
Forced 2D GPU Rendering in Developer Options.
Changing display resolution from WQHD to FHD.
Moving the video file from SD card to internal storage.
Disabling / uninstalling all apps which use Accessibility Services.
Clearing cache.
Factory reset.
None of these worked. ---UNTIL--- I tried using the screen recorder, from the Game Launcher settings, whilst watching the video. Playback was then perfect! No dropped frames, completely smooth, like it should be. The other alternative was to use software decoding but then colours would appear muted and battery life takes a huge hit.
So what's the deal here? Is the CPU or GPU not kicking in / being throttled whenever I launch a video player app? I'm assuming this is the case as the screen recorder seems to boost playback performance once I activate it. I'm on the June update and I'm not sure if this bug was introduced recently (I never tested 4K playback until now).
Owners of this particular model, could you please confirm if you are having this issue? Try watching a 4K video with lots of action and camera panning movements - that's where you can detect dropped frames or stuttering easily. I could provide the file I'm using for reference but it's a clip from a movie and I'm not sure if I'm allowed to share it here.
Okay since no one has replied and moderators on the Samsung forums are busy removing my posts - try this clip for example, it's 4K HDR encoded in H.265 / HEVC, I don't know if that makes a difference:
http://www.mediafire.com/file/m83ftn7n8d8le2s/Plane_Crash_Scene.mp4/file
Stutters in the default video player app for me. One thing to note is that it's smooth in portrait mode, but the moment you rotate into landscape fullscreen, it starts dropping frames. Now, turn on the screen recorder from within game tools and the stutters are mostly eliminated. What gives?
Another way to compare would be with a video player that lets you switch between hardware and software decoding, like MX Player. Watch the clip in HW mode and then switch to SW - it's choppier in HW mode for whatever reason. Using SW is not an option as the colours are not displayed properly and battery drain is much higher.
Regarding the clip - if it's against the rules to post such content, let me know and I'll remove it. There's a whole YouTube channel full of this stuff, I don't want to link to those as the problem I'm encountering is related to local video playback.
One last try before I sign off Here's another example if anyone has YouTube Vanced (google vanced.app for those unaware). I'm suggesting Vanced because the original YouTube app doesn't let you view at 4K resolution.
Firstly, open Vanced and tap the account icon in the upper right. Go to settings, Vanced settings, Video settings and then toggle Resolution Checks to ON. Refresh and restart the app.
Now open Game Launcher, tap the three dots in the upper right > Add apps and add YouTube Vanced to the list. We're doing this for the screen recording function which I'll mention later.
Once that's done, here's a 4K 60fps clip for you to try. It should be easier to perceive any hiccups with the higher frame rate. And of course, please set the resolution to 2160p (tap the three dots in the upper right) and watch in landscape orientation, since this is what the test is all about:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LXb3EKWsInQ
Panning shots work best. For reference, see the one of the step trail at 2:42 in the video. Does it look like it's stuttering or dropping frames intermittently?
Now, swipe up from the bottom of the screen to show the navigation bar (you need the navigation bar enabled to use the recording function) and tap on Game Tools, which is the leftmost button. Tap Record.
While the screen is recording, are the stutters now gone? To my eyes, the video is definitely smoother while the recorder is active. Appreciate any feedback from those willing to try (and confirm if I'm insane or not!) - cheers!

Missing media codecs at Rom

Hi. I have an application and it has exoplayer inside. But some resolutions I cant play. So after search I realized my rom doesnt have OMX.rk.video_decoder.flv1: video/flv
OMX.rk.video_decoder.mjpeg: video/mjpeg codes. So How can I add this codecs to my custom rom?
Have you found a solution?
I'm super desperate, because I've been trying to add codecs to my galaxy note 2 running on A.I.C.P ROM nougat. Because, when I export videos with a video editor app the colors are inaccurate; red blue inverted I guess.
