Hi,
some time ago a friend at work gave me his old device (xt610) to play with it and try what it can do with custom roms.
Only thing that is keeping me from continue to use custom roms is non-working delivery reports for SMS, which is not working on any custom rom I tried.
I am trying to figure out the issue but didn't had much luck so I started this thread hoping that someone can give me some ideas on what to try.
I attached here some logs while sending sms. There are some main and few radio logcats.
My guess is that the issue comes from ril driver. I tried using several different libmoto_ril.so files from custom roms, stock rom, even few other motorola devices that might be similar to Droid Pro.
Also tried contacting vanillaLVL but haven't got any response.
It would be really nice if I could keep CM7 on this device since it is working very nice and fast aside from this issue.
I will update this thread if I make any kind of progress, but if there is anyone who can help or point me in a right direction it would be most appreciated.
Hello again ^_^
Soo guys I need help once again and the Problem is :
I have Installed months ago CM 12.1 and it is working fine without any Problem but I cant use anymore "Peel Smart Remote" it says it dosent Support my Device but before I Installed a Custom Rom it was Supporting and working fully functional which makes me weird because I dont think that a App make it possible to Controll ur TV / DVD there is something Inside the Device which make it happens so I think there something with the ROM it selfs.
I need ur guys Advice/Help how to fix this
Thanks
I never thought it depends on the rom. As long as the hardware is there it should be fine. Have you tried never build of cm? With N5 port it's just fine.
Sent from my SM-N920C
Just wondering if anyone can direct me to a specific grouper ROM (including version) that has a working multiwindow/splitview system built in...
Are there any? The ones I thought should have it didn't seem to.
I've also tried XMultiWindow once, but it just didn't want to work right. Can't remember what ROM I did that on though. Willing to try again if someone knows a working combo
Have you tried Phoenix OS yet?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-7/general/phoenix-os-nexus-7-grouper-t3299266
Probably your best choice if your looking for a multi-window "desktop" experience.
Ah... Nope. I've never seen it before.... It's downloading now
Android 7.0 "Nougat" supports multi-window too, but nougat roms in this forum still first builds.
OK, i know that most roms have the static on boot problem, which in itself isnt a big deal. But, i have found that the werewolf kernel doesnt have that issue. could someone help me find out why that kernel doesnt have that problem so we may fix other kernels? the kernel ends up freezing my UI and i have to reboot. Not sure if its related or not. I havent seen this anywhere so i thought i would post it. i am willing to test the kernel if i can get some help. Or just point me in the right direction on what i would need to look for if i tried to edit the kernel myself
It's open source isn't it? Look at the difference between the unmodified kernel source. I use that kernel as well to fix comfort view while not having static. The first time I tried the kernel my screen didn't respond to touch at all, not sure why it works now
lg kernels have the issue. werewolf is build from qualcomm sources with drivers added for our phones(same way lineage does it which is why theirs is fixed also) The fixes for those kernels cannot be applied to a standard kernel.
Hi, I have a rooted verizon galaxy s7 (g930v) and i flashed some rom from here that a user uploaded that gives me the s8 icons and some other fancy stuff without too much affecting stock.
I read about getting a different kernel would allow the cpu frequencies and such to be more in your control, and I was wondering how i can go about getting a custom kernel.
The only problem here is, Almost every tut i've seen requires TWRP, and the last time i tried to install it, when i went into recovery booting, i would get in a bootloop, and i last heard it wasnt supported for the s7 anyway.
So I guess my question is, can someone link me a compatible version of twrp (if there even is any for the US variant on verizon), tell me how to install it, and please let me know with a link to a custom kernel that should work on my verizon galaxy s7?, with instructions on how to get it in my system? (I've read everywhere sorry for being a noob with kernels.)
I really wanna work on this and it's been driving me nuts! I would really appreciate any and all help i can get on this matter.
Thank you.

The bootloader on the Verizon S7 is locked. I believe with a locked bootloader you cannot load TWRP or a custom kernel. You are basically stuck with variations of the stock Verizon ROM with the stock kernel.

Damn, well in that case could you answer me this: I want to improve the performance of my phone without losing battery, I know tweaking the cpu and things of that sort could help, but in your personal opinion what would be the best way of controlling such things and their values? I've tried LSpeed, didn't really help, I used kernel adiutor, but one thing i noticed is that i think my system has its own cpu managing techniques, because if i went into kernel adiutor, set the min to 307, when i move my finger it shoots up to 900 then back down, in other people's videos of kernel adiutor i don't see that, any idea on what that's about?
I assume it's something in my system that's making my cpu do that, and i think that's why im not getting the snappy performance I crave. Any ideas?
Appreciate the help btw

Without a custom kernel, you can't tweak the CPU. Can't have a custom kernel on the S7 because of the locked bootloader. So there you go. I haven't tried messing with anything to improve the performance of my S7, so sorry I'm no help to you there.
