Good evening,
I have the following situation in TWRP:
1. I have waited 7 days to release the OEM.
2. After that I installed TWRP via ODIN, and logged into Recovery.
3. As usual the DATA folder was unavailable (Encrypted) and had to do FORMAT DATA, placing yes, etc ....
4. After that I was able to access, I installed Magisk and RMM STATE.
*********I also tested using SuperSu, NO-VERITY, and RMM STATE, and the same thing happened.
5. Everything wonderful, I accessed the system, the OEM remains unlocked, in the download mode has no PRE NORMAL, I can access ROOT softwares a marvel.
6. But here comes the problem, whenever I enter the TWRP it is with the DATA folder unavailable, that is, I have to redo FORMAT DATA.
7. If you do FORMAT, it restarts the procedure from the beginning.
The version of TWRP that I use is correct, the ROM is last STOCK Brazil ZTO.
I have no idea what to do.
Link to TWRP I'm downloading
https://twrp.me/samsung/samsunggalaxys8.html
I read the link below the information below, it would have some connection with the problem:
This device uses dm-verity!
This means that if you allow the system to be modified, it will prevent you from being able to boot if you are using the kernel stock. In order to bypass dm-verity's boot prevention, you will have to install a kernel that has disabled dm-verity in the fstab.
Problem solved through link:

You are asking for help, and it just so happens that there is a forum meant specifically for that.

Good afternoon.
Would you link to it?
'Cause I thought I'd go in with recovery.
I have tested everything I read in the forum and it is not right.

Hello dude,
it's quite similar to...
"Can i eat spaghetti and pomodoro" at dinner?
Of course you can, just make sure after install TWRP
you do a full backup of stock ROM before preceed rooting.
Happy flash.
P.S.: the question is legitimate, but it would make sense if nougat had come out lately...

Thanks, can you describe a software for a total backup? After backup, I need to unlock the bootloader and then I can flash the TWRP with fastboot?? Can you make a guide for all? Thanks for all
Hi, I just came home from work ..
What model of device do you have? Is it a VENUS (VNS) or a PRAGUE (PRA) one?
Write here complete firmware you have..
Later I reconnect, now I have to go ..
For apps, search the internet for the ones you need to backup, you can also use your huawei backup apps...
the rest as files or music, photos, videos, copy them on your computer ..
There are apps on the store to backup phone calls, text messages, etc., just search ..
When you feel relaxed about copying all your important things on your computer,
go to step 2, ie unlocking the bootloader, custom recovery flash, and so on ...
What is very important is to read more than one time GUIDES you need to follow...
Always one thing at a time

Hey Tommy,
you have the same phone as mine... L31 single sim..
Well, do you already have your bootloader unlock number ? If yes you can proceed, if not.... well... we will talk anymore...
About "how to", yes you can use commands with fastboot or use k1ll3r8e's toolkit that makes all things you need, including:
another huawei backup via hisuite, unlock BT, download and flash custom recovery (TWRP), root ie HOW TO..
So download all files and copy SU to your SD card:
@k1ll3r8e toolkit and install on PC;
@OldDroid TWRP and put wherever you want (on your PC);
Official SuperSU 2.82;
A very IMPORTANT thing is before connect phone to PC enable/disable things as showed in THIS screenshot !!!
Then open toolkit, go in bootloader TAB and install hisuite drivers on PC.
When you ready dude, quote here, will replay ASAP ..
Peace

@Tommy28_ITA
Hi, you can do what you want with your phone, you can choose what you planned to do my friend or do nothing....
In your previous post you wrote about lock screen you can't disable... investigate about this, could be very important. What you do with your phone is at your onw responsibility, you know.. just adviced....
In post number #3 you wrote:
"I need to unlock the bootloader and then I can flash the TWRP with fastboot??",
and in post #6 i wrote: "About "how to", yes you can use commands with fastboot or use k1ll3r8e's toolkit that makes all things you need, including:

So choose your method, fastboot or toolkit, or a guide HERE in @dariomrk's thread that use Magisk...
For fastboot search and download here on XDA, for toolkit i already posted you the link to the main thread, Search in each thread you will find the HOW TO section.
Just follow guides, use search, ask users/dev for helps...
If something goes wrong don't point your finger at me...
Where i'm wrong other members feels free to correct me whenever they want... thank you guys.
Good luck !!
P.S.: Some basic knowledge needed to root your phone, so if you think you don't have, just give up, sorry but necessary i write this.

Hello!
I have unlocked the bootloader of my Mate 10 lite and proceeded to flash TWRP and Magisk onto the device. But in doing so, I get an awful looking screen when I boot the device, so I thought I should relock the bootloader, now that TWRP has been flashed.
...I immediately regretted relocking the bootloader, as the system was inaccessible until I re-unlocked the bootloader and was able to access TWRP and the system again. So my question is, can you lock the bootloader with TWRP installed and still access the system?
Also, if I want to go back to full-stock, I have to download a stock ROM for the system from firmwarefinder and flash it with some tool, correct?

Unfortunately, it's impossible...
You can flash Stock ROM for the system from firmwarefinder (fullOTA-MF only!) using HwOTA, HuRupdater, Huawei Multi-tool (RUFI).
If You want to go back to full-stock with locked bootloader (not re-locked) , You have to flash Service ROM from dload (this process will erase all the data from your device!).

Thanks for the tips! By the way, what is dload? If it's a website, I cant find it (the fact that dload is short of "download" doesn't really help). I am now in need of that full-stock ROM.

Whew. I got the bootloader AND FRP locked on me, and now I don't have a usable system. So now, I have to rely on eRecovery to download a 3GBs package and hope all things go well...the problem is, I'd need to find a place that offers fast WiFi...my internet is terrible.
EDIT: Got the system back up thanks to eRecovery. I'm not sure if I want to root or install a custom recovery on the Lite. I've realized even more that I should cherish my older phone, my Samsung Galaxy Win. At least this one isn't complicated or protected by Fort KNOX.
When u play with custom roms, u appreciate the customization/optimizations offered by developers, thanks to them. But with the time, u always feel stock ROM was best for this n that reasons. Recent 2/3 times I was able to use Huru Updater to get back to Stock ROM and it worked well (needs TWRP installed, and you may need to switch to other TWRP if u get error from existing)
You seem to be a beginner, so I would suggest to get help from some friends who can do it for you. Or obviously u can try ur self again and again, and learn good things until something finally works for u. You were able to relock bootloader so it means u have the code for ur device for locking/unlocking, save this code on at least 2 different places (email, google drive, dropbox etc.). Then u can easily unlock ur device again, and install Stock ROM etc.

Custom ROMs are the best thing to happen to the Galaxy Win, even if the available choices all have their compromises. But with the M10 lite, I think it's better to stick with stock and mod it. And I'm not exactly a beginner, but rooting the Galaxy Win and modifying it was no hard ordeal. Or the Galaxy Grand for that matter, which I changed its ROM entirely. The Mate 10 lite however, oh dear (wipes sweat).
I've got the system back up and re-fitted it with TWRP and installed Magisk. And yet, when I try backing up the data partition with TWRP, I meet a peculiar error. Excerpt from recovery.log:
Code:

Searching on the internet, I found the solution was to delete the file that stops the operation from finishing. However, using MiXplorer with full root permissions, I...couldn't find the file...? There's only bt_config.bak, bt_config.conf and macbt. Nothing else. What the heck is up with all that?
I'd appreciate a solution to this.

I am certainly not up to what u r indicating so cant suggest a solution, earlier in my reply, I was only
indicating my experience with custom ROMs. I havent yet come across a single custom ROM for mate 10
lite that has no problems. Earlier Galaxy S4 Mini, there was custom ROM which was awsome, not a single issue
But for mate 10 lite camera problem is most common. Stock camera app often doesnt work or partially
works, restart of the app etc. You can install open camera, but it does not give u best shots, and filters.
Other issues are already discussed in every custom ROM thread, so I had to come back to Stock ROM
with magisk to remove any system apps that I dont need plus other goodies that magisk offers u (modules)
Alright, so I am supposed to install 347, but I uhh...can't, because I don't think TWRP is able to do it. What am I supposed to do in order to carry out the update successfully?

I just did your instructions today. All was going well up until installation of the new update. The first time, it rebooted when the progress bar was at 6%, then it rebooted again to the recovery, went up to 6% again before showing this screen:
Code:
Software install failed!
Failed to check the update files
Please download the package again
> Reboot system now
So I'm back to square one basically.
Also, I can't install updates to the built-in Huawei apps for some reason, even after flashing the stock recovery. I'm not sure what to do with both issues now...

Hi I need help I'm looking for a guide to root my samsung s8 SM-G950F I have done a search here on the forum but I must say that I am a little confused not all of them work.
Is there anyone who spends some of his time showing me which one to follow ?, my device mounts android 9 until the latest security update on April 1st, I tried some guide where I was told to flash twrp and immediately after dm-variety with rmm ... but every time twrp doesn't do the installation it always says it doesn't mount data or preload or other voices.

You can still use this guide
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...pment/recovery-twrp-galaxy-s8-exynos-t3595102
Use latest versions of twrp,no verity and if needed rmm bypass.
Mounting data error more than likely didn't format data in twrp
Preload error can be fixed in advance wipe menu in twrp.
hello thanks for the answer I have tried more than once but it can't keep giving me errors I don't know where to start so I try to list them all:
once flashed twrp:
1) I can't reboot or bootloop
2) I can't wipe because it doesn't mount data preload partitions and now I don't remember the other voices
3) every zip that I install returns me the error of mounting partitions (obviously I try to install the dm-variety, magisk and obviously rmm ... I don't remember which version after when I access the PC I will tell you better)
4) on reboot it locks me and I can't start the phone it gives me that only the official tracks can be loaded
I hope I have been detailed but unfortunately I have some files and do what I can.

hello thanks for the answer I have tried more than once but it can't keep giving me errors I don't know where to start so I try to list them all:
once flashed twrp:
1) I can't reboot or bootloop
2) I can't wipe because it doesn't mount data preload partitions and now I don't remember the other voices
3) every zip that I install returns me the error of mounting partitions (obviously I try to install the dm-variety, magisk and obviously rmm ... I don't remember which version after when I access the PC I will tell you better)
4) on reboot it locks me and I can't start the phone it gives me that only the official tracks can be loaded

If you are getting the message only official binary are allowed to be flash error you will have to flash stock firmware.
KG State has to be in checking mode. If in prenormal mode you can't successfully flash non stock rom.
FRP will need to be turned off.
Also in twrp did you Format Data not wipe.
ok thankyou i'm solved a problem
Hi,
Somehow I managed to forget my screenlock pattern (changed before lockdown) on my Samsung j7pro j730GM and it does not show any recovery through google password or similar. I need some help to recover access to my phone (preferably without factory reset).
This is the current situation of my phone:
- NOT Phone Rooted, all default
- Currently logged in with my google account on the phone, but can't access it over the google account (i kind of disabled history and other features in my google acc).
- Also "Unknown Sources" should be enabled on my phone.
If there is any way to recover the password via ADB, or to unlock the Data, that would be just awesome...
Thanks for any help.

Flash the latest TWRP recovery from here via Odin: TWRP Recovery J7 Pro
Boot into installed TWRP recovery. Connect device to your PC. Hopefully, you can access your files in there. :victory:
Backup your files, and factory reset your phone via the recovery.
See ya!

Yes, there's actually a simpler method via the Samsung account.
Try this: Using Find My Mobile to reset Password or PIN
