replacement LG G4 by OP5 ? - OnePlus 5 Questions & Answers

Hello all,
I have a question. I own a LG G4 that has an IPS QHD screen.
I do a bit of virtual reality with (mainly movie viewing) but I want to switch to the ONEPLUS 5 for other reasons (sotckage 128GB, BT 5.0, 8GB ram and Amoled screen).
However, with its full HD screen Amoled, I was wondering if it will bring me satisfaction for the virtual reality and i know it loses in definition of the screen.
Do you think I will strongly feel it or not?
I am not an expert on virtual reality, I would have liked to test with such a definition as the One Plus 5 but I do not know anyone who has such a resolution.
Thank you in advance for any help you could bring me in choosing the purchase or not.

PLS LCD vs Super Amoled Plus

Hey guys
I'm thinking to buy the 7" Tab Plus or the 7.7" one(when they will appear ) and I was wondering if any of you have any experience with PLS LCD and Super Amoled Plus displays.
Which one is better,in terms of quality, power usage, etc
I googled for that but it didn't help much, and i'd prefer to hear from someone who saw in real life both displays
As we know both are made bu samsungand both are the best in market (even better than the ipad IPS Screen ) but Pls screen has more natural colours like what we see with our eye in real world . Amoled colours are so vivid like animation movies ,etc but it is very good in power saving and better in black color . Finally it depends on your taste and how you prefere to see colors and you should see both side by side to decide but personally I hated my friends galaxy s2 after I compared it to my galaxy tab 10.1
advice : (buy galaxy tab 7.7 higher resolution , better processor ,thinner and easier to handle )

thanks for your answer
seems it will be a tough choice, and i will have to wait till both will be on stores so i can compare myself although the 7.7 price is kinda much..around 700 euros
I like the natural colours so i guess i will go with 7 plus
Anyway,in the meantime if someone else has other opinions pls share
I would say Super AMOLED Plus hands down. It's true that the AMOLED displays portray images more vivid and with very deep contrast, but I wouldn't say that the colors are unnatural, in fact I find it to be a major advantage of the 7.7, it will make movies that much better. The Super AMOLED Plus displays also don't have a backlight so they are much thinner and use less power. This is technology much more advanced than the panels in today's TVs. The Super PLS displays Samsung makes (what the 7.0 Plus has) are also very good, some say better than the IPS displays in tablets, but it's still an LCD, not quite as good as the Super AMOLED Plus in my opinion.
Also do not forget that the 7.7 display is higher resolution at 1280 x 800, the 7.0 Plus is 1024 x 600, and in my opinion it will make a big difference especially in Honeycomb. But don't let any of us persuade you in your decision, if you can, go look at them side by side in person and decide for yourself. We don't know what the 7.7 will cost yet, but I imagine the 7.0 Plus will be cheaper so if that is an important factor for you then it wouldn't be unwise to consider it.
As far as other specs go, the 7.7 is a bit thinner and lighter and has a bigger battery, a slightly faster processor, and a 64GB option.
Ok,thank you both for answer
Well yeah the price is an important factor..the 7 plus will cost 300 euros and the 7.7 will cost almost 700 euros so I will stick with the 7 plus for now
Here is a video which shows both side by side if someone else is interested to see

My first conclusion is that the super amoled looks brighter and colours are different than the ips pls one,but they ask too much..i will get it in a year or so when it will be half of price

Really contemplating between Optimus G Pro and HTC One

Hi everyone,
I recently purchased the Optimus G Pro, and am really enjoying using it. The screen is gorgeous, with high PPI, and it's 5.5" in size, which makes my gaming experience that much greater. Having come from the Iphone 5, I am really happy with the screen, customizability etc... I also like the fact that you can install custom roms on Android devices, albeit not the G Pro.
Anyways, my dilemma is that I really want to get the HTC One, but can't justify spending an extra $2-300 to upgrade from my G Pro (In Korea, used G pro's are about $2-300 cheaper than HTC On'es).
In my opinion, the following are some pros and cons of moving to the One, can anyone add any other points?
PROS:
custom roms! (really big in my book)
higher PPI (I am all about HD)
really nice camera
awesome design, and not too big
CONS:
smaller screen
higher PPI, but lower megapixels (or ultrapixels i should say), resulting in lower HD video recording quality
phone gets hot under heavy use? Can someone provide more detail about this?
no physical home button (I like physical buttons, in my opinion they are MUCH less finicky than soft keys)
no DMB (DMB is a free TV broadcasting system in Korea, that is equipped with most cellphones)
Thanks!
John
Ok well it's up to what you really want in your smartphone. But the HD recording in the HTC is excellent, probably better than the g pro because they both capture 1080p video so same resolution but bigger pixels = more light, better night preformance, HDR video etc. make it superior. It does get hot, as it's aluminum body conducts heat but never worryingly so. Also any difference in ppi doesn't really matter as at that level it's just a placebo if you notice a big improvement. Sense vs LGs monstrosity is your call though. Also I don't know what the pros battery life is but take that into account too. Hope I helped

I had a Pro for some time. I personally couldn't handle the damn thing. It was far to awkward to use and the LG software is hideous. The one surpasses it IMHO. Remember, it's what I felt but everyone will think differently.

The higher PPi won't really make much of a difference. In my opinion the Optimus makes better use of the Full HD screen. On 4.7inches its hard to notice the difference between a 720 and a 1080p screen.

Buy or not Meizu M5 PRO? Or rather a Nexus 6P?

Meizu 5 Pro has best processor of Android (Exynos 7420), sd card, nice AMOLED screen with 1080P, great battery (4th on battery life tests this year), and great price also (450 Euros).
But is Meizu....
¿Do you think is a good buy?
Or would be better a Huawei 6P with
Google support for two years and stereo speakers
Better camera and screen
but
Worse battery and processor
No sd
More expensive (200 euros more)
¿Does Meizu give software support with latest Android? ¿Which one you prefer? (you can put other smarthphones on the equation also)
I want to answer your question by comparing both phones in each category.
Design:
I started with design part because, for me it's very important part. I like meizu pro 5 design much more than 6p not saying 6p is not good but, 2.5D glass with looking similar to Iphone in front is not a bad thing in meizu and better than 6p here. I prefer Fingerprint as a home button on meizu at the front much more than in 6p at the back. ( Not to mention how innovative home button of meizu will change the way of using this phone when you getting used to it and you cannot compare it with any other android phone). Also design of meizu at the back is also more beautiful in my opinion as it's a little similar to htc one series. Also 10g less weight in meizu should be a little more suitable in hand.
Camera:
About camera in meizu it does pretty decent job in good light maybe even better than 6p specially better in detail comparison but, in low light you should either use manual mode or accept quality of auto mod which is not bad but, differently 6p is better but, not much better.
Selfie with front camera is definitely better (more detail) in 6p but, for internet both do good job here.
Processor:
The main problem in 6p is qualcomm 810 processor which is a big no for me specially compare to Exynos 7420 which is arguably the best in the market for now (even compare to karin 950) and you will never feel a hot phone in your hand or lag due to hot temperature of cpu and much more energy efficient than Q 810. (Not fan of Antutu benchmarks but, recently Meizu take the crown from Huawei karin 950 chipset in Huawei Mate 8!)
Softwere:
On the other hand meizu apparently is new to world market and cannot support their phone like google but, in future with custom roms it will be okay I think (do not expect near future!) Meizu does not come with unlock bootloader and apparently there is no way to unlock it and it may take so long to either someone manage to unlock it (very difficult + lack off good developers due to less popularity of meizu and the phone itself) or company give us a way to do it so, do not except support of developers or company like 6p. Meizu will definitely upgrade meizu pro 5 to marshmallow but, time is unknown.
Also if you really like pure android experience which I don't! heavily skin of Flyme OS on top of android in meizu may become a big problem for you. Lack of app drawer or design of home screen or even default apps are not a big deal as you can get a good launchers now a day specially with htc sense launcher and apps but, other part like setting menu and notification drawer and etc will be always the flyme one!
Screen
Comparing the screen, there should not be much differences as both phones using very similar amoled technology and panel. Yes 2k vs full hd but, 2k display of 6p is not as good as samsung new flagships like gs6 or note 5. Brightness of both phones are almost similar. I don't think you will notice the differences here in display part in daily usage because, differences of 2k displays are not very recognizable in human eyes in phones bellow 7" screens. But, if it does for you it's just a little more sharper but, not better in contrast, color and etc.
In 6p you will get gorilla glass 4 which is better when you drop the phone and can manage much more pressure here but, not as good as gorilla glass 3 (meizu pro 5) in scratch resistance part. If you use screen protector no problem here for both phones.
Audio:
Yes 6p has dual speaker in front which is more suitable when watching something or listening to musics with speakers but, meizu on the other hand support Hi-Fi audio so, provide much better quality sound specially when you plug a headphone which 6p was unfortunately poor here.
Hardware/Connectivity/Network/Battery:
Lack of memory support is again a big downside of 6p compare to meizu plus 2 sim in meizu vs 1 in 6p (in meizu 2 sim if you don't use sd card) .
For connectivity both doing great and not very different here. You have more 4g bands support in 6p but, if you don't live in USA you will not loose here. Meizu definitely is much better in battery part as you know so, no more words here. Also meizu charge the battery a little faster than 6p specially if you charge 6p with retail charger in it's package which the plug is weaker than meizu fast charger plug. (No need to buy faster plug in meizu).
Okay I don't know if I left anything else and hope it helps you to choose the best option but, personally I will choose meizu here as you mention the price of 6p I don't think it wrote 200 euro more just for a little better camera, speaker and screen VS it's downs. But, if you cannot live without latest version of android and faster support of google or with Flyme OS of meizu better to go for 6p. ( The only real downside of meizu compare to 6p currently before unlocking the bootloader of pro 5)

If you look at the prices, i will go for Letv Lemax, the most powerful android phone, that will be out soon and will cost about 530 USD with new snapdragon 820 and with antutu benchmark about 120 000. It have 64/128GB ROM, 4GB ram, QHD dipley, 21 MPX camera, USB 3.0 type C, atc.

6.33-inch display! wow huge for a phone!
Plus 2 MP front camera is not good for selfie + not amoled screen + 3400mAh battery definitely is not good in 2k IPS LCD display and you should wait at least 3 more months if not more for outside of china; And 530 usd price (price of 32gb with no expandable storage) is unconfirmed and if it cost 530$ it will be in china not outside so, definitely expect 600$+
The only upside is the cpu which we don't know how well it's until it comes out plus OIS in camera. Qualcome did awful job in 810
I've used both and the camera on the Meizu is far better than the 6P.

Low Budget Phone for VR-Gaming on PC

Hi I just wanted to ask witch phone is the best for PC Vr streaming. It'll be my secondary phone therefore a good battery, a good camera, etc. is not necessary. I've read that you need at least 2gb of ram and Android 5 to work properly. But I don't know which screen resolution you need and if an amoled display is better as an ips display. I found a good deal for the Yotaphone 2 for 160$. Are there better smartphones in the same price range.
Thank you for your help
Perhaps a used nexus 6? I see them on swappa for that sometimes, and that's what I used.
1440p amoled display and huge
I'd recommend buying a used LG G2 or G3. The G2 has fullHD resolution and the G3 has 1440p. The G3 is also a great overall phone though, so you should probably look for a cheaper 1440p phone. By the way, you can still see the single pixels of the screen when using a cardboard, even with 560dpi. Its better than the HTC Vive, but a high resolution should be your main argument .

comparison with LG G5

Greetings everyone ,,
I plan to buy either this phone or the LG G5
I'm used to both companies since i tried both companies and and had no problems except the reason to change broken screens
anyway what i like in the S6 edge+ is the bigger Screen and longer battery life time
and the G5 has newer CPU && GPU (i game a lot), better camera sensor(dual camera and 1.8F vs 1.9F for the S6), replaceable battery and SD card option
although the G5 is cheaper i still want to get a big screen device coz i suck with roads and i use maps a lot while driving and i read a lot weather it's facebook or PDFS and i never tried VR so will the bigger screen be better
and the nougat updates ,, will the s6 get an official update coz i hate cm camera
what do u think guys which device should i get ?!!
not only bigger screen but super amoled display ,to be frank you should be comparing g5 with s7 edge in terms of spec wise , never used lg smart phones , so cant comment much as super amoled screen is one of the top list for myself , vr wise i feel QHD is still not enough as i still see pixels , not complaining much since it just a extra feature and cheaper alternative to htc vive ,maybe a 4k display might be better
