I have found the following:
Under Manage Applications if I select an application then return to the list it sticks on loading.
Every once in a while on Wifi the network will stop working until I restart the wifi.
LauncherPro will not find apps moved to SD (developer issue)
Stock launcher seems much slower and widget take longer to load.
Thats all so far....anyone else noticing any bugs?
Still no way of clearing downloads in the Browser without also deleting the actual download.
Still no .com key on the keyboard when there should be (Browser).
Neither of these were a problem in 2.1, I can't believe they cocked these up in 2.2 :-S
I reported them to Google here: http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=9300#c0
The update killed Swype, told me it was for a different device.
Quick uninstall/reinstall sorted it.

I just had that too, but the uninstall/reinstall fixed it for me as well.
MMS app still barely resizes pictures.

No problem with the manage applications list.
No wiFi problems so far.
Launcher Pro finds all of my apps (I think...) RE-EDIT: LauncherPro finds apps put onto the SD after FRF85B was loaded - the apps I had on there before (just a couple) were dead anyway, as I'd crashed the SD card and reformated, and never put my backup in place.
I don't use stock launcher.
My battery does not last the promised 2 1/2 weeks though !

The manage application one doesnt do that for me.... So it must be on your end...
overall this seems smooth...
If Launcher pro dont find your apps, go to settings force close it and hit home, then itll reboot itself and find apps...

Bah, I was hoping they'd fix that!
I agree on the stock launcher being slow. I mean it's not sluggish, but you'd notice that in Eclair it was so much smoother. I can't believe this is the official build.

i hope you are kidding.
FroYo, that was supposed to be 2-5 times faster, has a sluggish Launcher compared to 2.1?
The funny thing is: the launcher was ALREADY sluggish on 2.1 so i'm wondering how bad it will be on froyo.
It's a bad joke, especially if you take a look ate the HTC Desire launcher which is scrolling PERFECTLY fluid.
I'm using launcherpro currently, but i can't believe how google can't get such a basic thing as fluid scrolling done...
The launcher is incredibly smooth and fast for me. Night and day difference from eclair. Love it.

I have this problem since day ONE, even with the "old" 2.1 firmware version.
When android is rebooted it has to check all your SD apps. Therefor Launcher Pro sees them as being uninstalled, give it a minute, then go to preferences and scroll to the bottom and press restart Launcher Pro.
launcher is smooth after a wipe cache and the other option in recovery
all of my setting and market application was downloaded and restored automatically

Really? I've used a few Desires here, and I think that they are all molasses compared to even the stock launcher with transitions maxed out.
LauncherPro smokes 'em all, though, even iPhone / iPad / etc.

So wiping the cache uninstalls all of the apps and wipes the settings? What about widget placement, ringtone and notification settings? Ate they ask restored too?
Launcher pro - I believe its a matter of how fast it loads and the fact that the SD card isn't fully mounted on the device
for downloads just go to manage applications/all tab and clear data to remove the list. unfortunately no way to remove specific items from the list.

This happens to me depending on the Wifi access point I use. At home, it works great, but at my in-laws', I have to restart constantly.
I got a problem with Flash, I installed the latest beta3 version but when I visit a flash website the stock browser crashes.
Strange thing is, that I got it working on FRF50 inclusing flash websites in the stock browser

what's the command to wipe the cache?
Root
This guide assumes that you have rooted your tablet.
Instructions to do so can be found here:
P600 - Wifi only model
P605 - Lte model
Disabling Apps
Why?
Disabling Apps can have a significant performance improvement. A lot of apps startup on boot and use a little bit of ram to cache. Disabling the apps/services you don't need will free up some of the ressources.
Instructions:
Keep the apps you need and if you are not sure rather keep an app more. You can disable a lot more if you know what you are doing. You can either disable/freeze using Titanium Backup Pro or ROM Toolbox Lite. If you do it that way the apps will still be enabled if you create a second user on your tablet. You should rename the apks to .bak in /system/app then they should be gone globally. You can do this with the free ES File Explorer, just make sure to select root "Root Explorer" under Tools and to mount /system/app as r/w through the menu you get by clicking on "Root Explorer".
This is the list of apps you can safely disable.

Other things:
Animations:
Increasing the speed of animations can make it feel faster, because you are not waiting on the animations to finish. Disabling the animations can make it feel very fast, but if you like animations you might as well keep them.
To be able to change the animation speed you first need to enable developer options:
Open settings
Navigate to General -> About device
Tap on "Build number" 7 times
You should get a notification "You are now 4,3,2,1 taps away from being a developer
Open up the developer settings
Scroll down to "Drawing"
You can change Window/Transition/Animator animation scale. I would advise setting them to 0.5 or disabling them
Nova Launcher
This launcher is one of the fastest. If you go into "Nova Settings" under "Look and feel" you can set the "Scroll Speed" and "Animation Speed" to Faster than light. This will make the tab feel like a rocket.
Customize Apps for MultiWindow
Download and install the Xposed Framework
Open Xposed installer
Go into Framework
Select Install/Update
Download/Install MultiWindowManager
Open it and select the apps you want to be able to use in MultiWindow
Reboot
Now when you press on edit in MultiWindow you can select all your apps
Factory Resetting / Updating to newest firmware
There have been several updates from samsung which drastically increase the performance. Make sure you are on the newest available firmware. Also if you are experiencing lag or any issues it might be a good idea to start from scratch. You can search on Sammobile for your device number and download the firmwares. You can also download firmwares from other countries and flash them with Odin. For example I'm using ML1 from Taiwan atm even though I'm in Germany. Just be aware that there might be differences between the firmwares. But make 100% sure that your device number matches. You have to extract the file you downloaded and put the tar.md5 file into the "pda" slot. This will wipe your internal sd card completely, including your data, so backup because everything will be gone.
If this helped you let me know and if you have suggestions I can add them to the OP.

Just went out on my lunch break and made the exchange at Best Buy.
iPad sucks. Yes it's fast, and the apps look good, but that's it. If you want to do any actual work on it, or watch whatever show or movie you throw at it, or really multi-task, it blows.

Cool, hope that your device will perform as well as mine when you apply the guide.
There are several limitation with iOS that make it harder to do serious work. You tried and saw for yourself... And I doubt there will be a stylus ever, I recall Steve saying at the launch event that it's easy to use, works with your finger, a pen would just add an additional layer of complexity.

Yes let us know what your experiences are. I've always thought iOS was too restricting overall but with 7, they seemed to make it a bit more flexible.

Well I got the Air on Friday and tried it all through today, when I finally had enough. iOS 7, in my opinion, is “prettier”, but functionally, nothing has changed.
You still need iTunes if you want to put any movies on it, you still don’t have any access to folders, and it’s generally the same walled garden it has always been.
Very happy to be back on Android.

Yes, this is a very good tip. All that software piled up on top of each other can cause issues.
Any device that updates i'll do the ol' factory reset afterwards to run at optimal performance.

Hi All,
Now that the KK update is out and installed on all RAZR HDs except for those that are pokey, I thought I'd see what everyone's opinions are.
Try to be a little more informative than "it's good", "I like it", or "it sucks", "I want a different phone". I figured this would be a good place to post up new tricks you've discovered, maybe weren't aware of before actually installing the new OS, and maybe help others discover and maximize the capabilities of the phone now.
DO NOT POST ANYTHING IN THIS THREAD RELATED TO "WHEN IS THE NEW ROOT METHOD COMING"!!!! There are enough threads getting spammed with that nonsense.
I'll go first I guess:
- Liking the extra RAM that has been freed up with the update. About 30-40 additional MB, which in my case with everything I am running every little bit helps!
- Liking that I am now able to take advantage of the KK Xposed modules.
- Thankful that @iBolski pointed me to the new way to hack the wireless hotspot.
- I was toying with the Daydream option in settings, but couldn't get it to work correctly I don't think.
- Definitely enjoying having a 2-yr old phone that is software relevant again. Having unlimited data on VeeZeeDub I like being able to put off outright buying a phone again like I did this one.
- Liking the fact that lockscreen widgets can be posted on the lockscreen, and that a simple swype down from the clock (while using pattern lock method) moves the pattern lock to the bottom and allows the ability to view the widgets without unlocking the phone. Also like that camera is one of the widgets - much easier to get to in a pinch!
- Liking the fact that with Gravity Box [KK] I can use the frosted lockscreen image setting. Have been wanting that for a while.
- Also liking that when music is playing on the phone, the lockscreen image is changed to a picture of the album cover art (not sure if this is a mod I set up in XBlast Tools or in Gravity Box [KK] or something that is standard on the KK OS, but liking it regardless)
...more to come I'm sure!
I love it since I have root.
Things I love:
-Quicker to launch applications
-No lag, or hold ups
-The new pull down menu is a lot better.
-The lock screen and the ability to to take a picture while locked is very nice.
-Battery life seems to be better.
Things I hate:
-Swype is not included and now I have to pay $3.99
Overall, great update!
I concur with Modernmidnights assessment with the exception of Swype. I haven't used it since I purchased Swiftkey. Like that so much better.
My con was the popping noise, but that's fixed now with the fix that @kabaldan gave us. You can get that here:
http://d-h.st/vre
Otherwise, great performance. Lag is gone. Heck, I hate to say it, but I'm getting better performance out of stock than I did with Nexesque ROM and that ROM was great under JB.
Very happy with this release.
is it possible to have google now on this device?
i mean that thing that u say "ok google now" and the phones wakes up and talks to you?
or it is not possible since the hardware is not compatible?

I'm also using Swiftkey, started before Swype was a feature for the AOSP keyboard (at least I think so, else I didn't know how to enable it while looking for it). I have already even deleted the stock keyboard, lol. Come to think of it I remember when Swiftkey added Swype. Was a test of sorts, then it disappeared for about a week, I was so mad I sent a nastygram to them to which they responded that it'll be coming in an update and that it was just a beta test.
Popping noise... mind elaborating slightly? I'm wondering if it's the same popping noise I am getting with autovoice enabled for listening...

Rather than rehash it all, here is a link to a thread I started over in the Q&A forum about it and @kabaldan provided a newly compiled boot image that fixes it:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2761162
It seems to affect some, but not all phones, whether the bootloader is locked or unlocked.
My apologies for making you respond, I should have looked harder. Your topic describing the issue was almost right below this thread. I don't think that's what my issue is.
I've noticed many problems with the stock messaging app and with hangouts as well, so many I deleted them both and switched to Go SMS pro.
Sigh, hearing there is another update from Motorola on the way makes me sad, I've customized the phone so much since the update I don't want to go back to stock and do it all over again.

The latest motorola phone can do that because they have a dedicated , very low power processor for it , if we did this on our phone , it would ruin the battery life.
the closest you ca, achieve , is with nova launcher, you can program it to respond to "ok google" when you are on the main screen.

Google Now is already on the phone. Now, if you want it to launch from the launcher, then at this point, no. The Google Now Launcher is not available for this phone (yet).
However, as another poster stated, you can get the latest Nova Launcher and it has the ability to respond to "Ok Google" from the desktop.
Or, if one is rooted, use the Xposed module OK Google For Third Party Launchers and enable everything (all apps, EVERYTHING) within. Now I can use "OK Google" to launch Google Now from any application or screen (except for the lockscreen... still working on that one...)
Took about 5 minutes to go through all 150+ apps to enable them all, but worth it.
Another question for all:
Has anyone tried using the Moto Skip yet after upgrading to 4.4.2? I found the apk online (http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/moto-x-qa/moto-skip-apk-t2416837 check post #4)
It installed just fine and ran when entered from settings --> security, but I haven't actually tested it yet since I don't have any NFC tags on hand. Might see if I can pick up NFC tags to see if it works.
Little by little, changing this phone into a "Moto X Mini" lol. Let's call it Moto X Dragon, it sounds cooler 8) lol

Please excuse my lateness lol
I think personally, the OS is a lot snappier but there are a lot of bugs that are still present in the final release thought, I haven't had the popping noise sound but I have encountered soft reboots when I boot the phone with headphones in, it does lag a little sometimes but that's due to lack or ram. I love wireless printing, and read receipts. Would love art runtime if more apps were compatible with it. I'm just glad to have it. Having an locked bootloader isn't that great, the first Razr Maxx HD I had was and that was lovely, but I digress. Daydream is kind of useless to me. I am a battery converservationists. The multiple home launcher selector was well worth the wait. I can run Nova Launcher or the Google Now Launcher whenever I want to. Another drawback is that I can't write anything to the SD card unless it's with a system app now. Battery life is decent, I get a full day of heavy usage everyday. Which is the reason I purchased the phone, battery life. After a few days of running KitKat the random battery drain stopped for me.
i'm now on JB rooted, and i've change my font to playful. If i update to kitkat, will i lost my font? coz i realy love the font :crying:

I don't have this kind of problem but I never used emoji prediction. In which language do you use it ? Maybe related to the language?
same here with Swype keyboard @Sgs6
It really seems that it gets kicked off from memory after some time. Is there any way to force it kept in memory?
I don't use emoji prediction either. And I do not have any lags on the keyboard at all!
I'm using UK English, i face randomly shut down swiftkey and other third party keyboard too. I used to owned S6, after upgraded to 5.1.1, problem started to occur... now having same problem with S6 Edge Plus. Sad...
same here (only with swiftkey) on sony z ultra on 412 (cane be bothered updating yet).
emoji etc off. only happened a few updates ago. typing away and keyboard randomly closes. after waiting 30 seconds and repeatedly clicking in text area the keyboard pops back up and works for a while. reboot and same behaviour, same if wipe data etc.
might try wiping data and unlinking from my acc. if not that IMO has to be the app as OS hasn't changed (rooted and no OTA updates).
I ditched Swiftkey because it seems laggy and slow for me. With other keyboards I have no problems.
It's a bug of SwiftKey since 5.4. I have reported it several times with explinations, screencasts etc. They simply refuse to aknowledge they screwed up the app. So I'm using samsung keyboard, which, by the way, uses Swiftkey SDK.
Did you look at the App Optimization system? I have disabled Swiftkey there, to avoid having the system closing it after a certain time, and everything seems to be ok for now.
I noticed it lags a lot on the Edge Plus too which is ridiculous because of how fast the phone is, I have been trying out other keyboards and one that came close to swiftkey for me was Minuum Keyboard it has some really good prediction even for really sloppy fast typing.
I have read on a another topic that this is caused by the Samsung firmware itself. It detects SwiftKey as low priority and kills it whenever possible, even when you are using it (which is kind of ridiculous?)
I've read that if you disable spcm in build.prop (requires root) the issue will be fixed. I hope that Samsung does something with it soon as the same problem has been on touchwiz since the start..
So not only the edge+ that has the issue, I got the International S6 (920F) and I need to live with that issue... Almost considered rooting and voiding my warranty because of this and the terrible ram management.

EDIT: (found a working workaround
Try this; it might help you along the way:

On the S6 go to Settings--> Language and input--> Default keyboard --> Set up input methods --> Turn off Samsung keyboard and Google voice typing. Worked for me.

Stock keyboard is very very good..
I've always been a gboard user however it doesnt sync dictionary data if you have secure folder installed. This forced me to switch to swiftkey. In the start it felt horrible to me but I've grown accustomed to it and can't even think of switching to another keyboard now! Its amazing.

Just another friendly SwiftKey user here. I like the thumb layout and the predictions are spot on. I will never switch from SwiftKey..... ever.

I used swiftkey for a year...then switched to Gboard when the S7 came out. Just recently I switched back to swiftkey on my S8. Both are pretty good but I think the predictions are slightly better using swiftkey.
Gboard!
Swiftkey since years
Swype
I am using SwiftKey and the answer is simple - better predictions! I mostly type in another language and it learns my typing pattern much better than Gboard. I can't really use Samsung's keyboard as it doesn't recognize a lot of words and they remain uncorrected.

How's voice dictation with swiftkey? Is it accurate? Because I use Gboard because it's great for texting in two languages at the same time. I use English and Spanish simultaneously. .
I've always used google for just about anything. Their vault of metadata is probably enough to make an exact replica of me.
Anyway, I used Gboard. the samsung keyboard annoyed me with it's poor suggestions - and the fact it wouldn't auto space for google searches in the browser (I'm sure there's a setting somewhere I didn't bother looking for) was awful. I tried swift, but Gboard is fantastic. Plus my nerdy coworkers (dev here) thoroughly enjoy m(or secretly hate) the massive amounts of easily searchable gifs I can send from gboard easily.
I've always used FLESKY KEYBOARD.
Swiftkey. I first used it trough an update on my OnePlus One where it became the stock keyboard.
Have you tried BlackBerry keyboard?
From BlackBerry manager
I've been using SwiftKey since my S3 - for config options and prediction text...
Took me a while coming from gboard, but i changed to Stock keyboard and everything goes very well
swiftkey, its the only one that allows arrows keys on keyboard, and I much prefer the arrow keys than dragging the dot thing around
I use Swiftkey as my primary keyboard as I'm so used to the Urdu layout. I also use Gboard sometimes when I have to write something through voice. It also gives me the ability to speak in Urdu language, and it types in urdu.

Alright, so I am not the only one to face the auto spacing issue. Doesn't auto space on chrome, so I tried their stock browser, doesn't work there either.
Even though, in the settings I have set it to auto spacing.
I was using Gboard for the past 2-3 years, but now I am trying to get use to everything samsung stock.
