No Wifi/Data - OnePlus 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I tried to root my OnePlus 2 by following the YouTube video on OnePlus' channel. However, I found myself in a bootloop. After reading multiple threads about how to return back to before the bootloop, I "restored" to OxygenOS 3.0.2, but I can't connect to the internet nor mobile carriers. Help :l

Need help. Phone won't connect to mobile network

I'm having trouble connecting to the mobile network after I, very stupidly, tried to install Magisk on my phone after rooting it using this method: "Root For The S7/S7 Edge Oreo Is Finally Here!!" (search this in the xda forums, I can't upload links yet)
After installing Magisk, I tried to boot and got this message on the screen that basically said I couldn't boot due to a change to the boot image. I fixed that by installing the "G930PVPU6CRE7_G930PSPT6CRE7_SPR" stock firmware from sammobile. After this is that the problem presented itself. I could boot again and everything was pretty much fine except I could not get the phone to connect to the Sprint network. I've wiped and flashed the phone several times, I have even downloaded the stock firmware from different sources and nothing. I also tried activating the phone through the setting with no success.
Somebody, please help me, I've spent my whole day on this and I am getting stressed out.

Wifi is unusable

My new OP8Pro is not connecting to ANY wifi networks.
And if it manages to connect it drops connection after 15 seconds.
I'm on OOS 10.5.13 and only using magisk.
What variant do you have?? US? EU? Global? Chinese?
Not sure if safe mode allows WiFi but boot to safe mode and see if the same issue occurs.
If a family member has a mobile, create a hotspot then connect to that and see if it has the same issues.
If say update to 11 as it may be a software issue.
If updating is an issue as you have no WiFi, you may be able to download it from the internet on a pc then copy the firmware over.
Have you tried a factory wipe?
Does removing the magisk modules help?
When you rooted did you extract the boot.img from your own firmware or did you obtain it from someone else, I'd always recommend obtaining your own.
Think there was someone who had issues in the xXx thread, might be worth searching threads to see what was the outcome.
I think they were on a US device, T-Mobile IIRC.

6T is hard bricked.... param preload device not match image

Hello everyone. it's been a week that I work on this problem but I can't solve it myself despite having made numerous attempts. the situation is this: installing lineage os when the system restarted the 6t got stuck in the bootlader. I installed qualcom drivers from here
https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=11410963190603879743
and downloaded msm https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=17248734326145733776
I disabled windows secure boot and installed optional qualcomm drivers on windows... the 6t is correctly recognized as Qualcomm 9008 in the device manager in port 9 but I also tried in the 7 and it is always correct.
I tried other divers (after removing the previous ones) and other versions of msm but I always give the same error : param preload... device not match images.
I have read many discussions and tried many things but I can not solve. someone is willing to help me. Thanks guys.
I also tried uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling these:

the problem is not solved but changed to: (recording dawnload time in red) images do no match with teh phone!
i can't figure out if it's a msm or driver version problem or maybe something else ...
I don't know what the exact problem. If you have installed magisk or modify something to your phone, sometime msm will fail to recognized or flash..

But if your phone can boot into fastboot mode, try to flash fastboot ROM it might help

if you get a warning in MSM tool: 'images do not match the phone', you are flashing the wrong image. That could happen to a branded phone. So, if you have a T-Mobile branded phone, either convert it to Global first (that tool has 'device check' disabled), or use T-Mobile MSM tool.
Your other option is to contact OnePlus support and they can help you remotely. I got into a similar bind with my 6t a year and ½ ago and nothing I was attempting worked. It was very frustrating. Ultimately I contacted OnePlus and they got me back up and running in no time. I was a little upset that I had to resort to relying on the manufacturer but also relieved to have a working device again and also thankful that it was an option, even if I would've preferred to have fixed it myself. Good luck.
PS - something to be aware of, I'm not 100% sure that it was a result of OnePlus' involvement/remotely flashing the device but somehow I ended up with a new/different IMEI. This created a world of difficulty with my cellular carrier (VZW) - I had finagled a OnePlus 8 out of them by citing manufacturers defect (I had coverage through VZW despite purchasing the phone directly from OnePlus) but they said the OnePlus 6t they received had a different IMEI than what they expected to receive, which makes absolutely no sense and this is the only possible explanation I could come up with. It ultimately saved me from having to pay for retail for the OnePlus 8 but not without a lot of headaches in between. Oh and lemme just say that having a VZW OnePlus with a locker bootloader sucks, I can't wait to get away from this thing and back to something I can root (I only pulled this maneuver in order to buy myself some time as I wasn't thrilled with the 1+9)

How to flash a custom ROM and root successfully?

Hi,
For context, I've been custom romming and rooting for probably over 10 years by now so I know quite well how this works but this device is a new challenge.
I've tried numerous methods on the internet and XDA but apart from softbricking (and restoring every time, msm tool), I just can't get it to work.
Had multiple Qualcomm crash dumps and currently stuck in the bootloader unlocked message. I can still reach fastboot.
All I want is the most recent LineageOS (or preferably dotOS but with the last version Bluetooth audio wasn't working. I managed to flash this one successfully until everything started to go wrong) with Magisk and xposed (or lsposed).
Can someone point me to a resource which most probably would work? I both have Linux and Windows VM's (not macOS) so that's not an issue.
Thanks!

Trading in my OnePlus 6T, need to get it back to stock T-mobile ROM. Can't get MSMTool working

UPDATE: In case anyone stumbles across this thread.
I had turned off my VIRUS protection, NOT my firewall. After turning off my Windows Firewall, rebooting the phone again,MSMTool fired right up. Few hours down the drain, but progress! Thread can be marked as solved I guess.
Greetings,
I've got a fully functional working OnePlus 6T Tmobile variant with bootloader unlocked on LineageOS. It works fine, I can get to all modes, I did a factory reset, but I need to get it back to fully stock before I send it back to OnePlus for tradein.
The MSMTool keeps hitting the Sahara Communication error after 16 seconds. I've tried all the USB ports on my laptop, I've installed drivers, I've tried different USB cables, I've rebooted the laptop, I've turned off all firewalls/virus protections.
I really thought this was going to be easy, but I have 100 tabs open from Reddit and here, and I'm making no progress.
I don't have a copy of my original ROM from when I flashed it a few years ago.
