If is it really the same technologies "Wireless Display" and "MirrorLink"?
In any case I have tries to connect it to my car HeadUnit with help of "Wireless Display", but I was unsuccessfull.

Mirrorlink is a system to connect your phone with your car's electronics devices and other devices. Unfortunately it is not well understood by users and devices themselves! When it works it's great (when it works!). You can Google "Mirrorlink". Cheers!

I'd like to new, if smb managed to run mirrorlink software on our phone.

Galaxy S5 Mirrorlink?

So I looking around and it appears that the S5 is not mirrorlink capable in its current state (stock).
However when lollipop comes out its going to have built in mirrorlink support.
Anyone hear of this or can clarify this for me?

Without having the phone in front of me, I cannot see that. Can you please be a bit more specific about what you have and where you found it?

MirrorLink is supported now. You'll find it under "settings - connections - Connect and Share - MirrorLink".
I had my son look at his S5. It shows "screen mirroring". Is this Mirror Link? Or another software solution? You would think it would state "Mirror Link" if it was actually that software.
I was also talking to Samsung yesterday and they are saying the Lollipop push was due out already, but it should be coming any time now.

Mirrorlink is indeed on Galaxy S5 here in the uk but it wont connect with my pioneer headunit as it only supports mirrorlink 1.0 software and the S5 is 1.1 and pioneer cant or wont update the software to work with newer smartphones, it will work with an S3 but the mirroring is pretty basic tbh

It's on the S5 here in the states as well with the Lollipop upgrade. However, it doesn't work here either...at least not on a Pioneer Nex8000. It's time to start investigating other options outside Pioneer.
Mine dosn't work either. I have a VW headunit - Composition Media - and when I start MirrorLink only a black screen with a car connecting to a phone icon flashes and disappears. I'd like to debug the problem but can't connect my phone to the car and to my laptop simultaneously so I can read the logcat. How do I save the log to a file so I can read it later?
I got the operation of MirrorLink in Galaxy S5 , excuse the language , do not speak English , read-only.

How to read SMS in car on head unit, from phone using bluetooth?

Ok so I have a 4.4.4 Pumpkin head unit and all stock so far.
I have a ROMed Galaxy S4, I have only a bluetooth connection in the car between the two devices.
I would like to somehow get the SMS on the phone and also be able to read it on the car head unit and respond via head unit?
Which app would suffice?
Would I need to have other connection between the two devices, if so which one?
Thanks
Try "Yaata" on your phone, it has a setting where it can read out the text messages when hooked up to Bluetooth which means hooked up to your car head unit it will actually say everything that comes in
With my back to the rise I'll make my stand

I believe this would require you to have the bluetooth app loaded and running to hear it, but I might be wrong.
I solved this problem with Pushbullet, but it requires some sort of tethered internet connection .

Did you have to use the older version of Pushbullet, or does the new one have android notification mirroring?

I only started using it recently but the version in Google Play does notification mirroring. It works very well.

I upgraded back to the full version, and don't see that option. Is that just in the pro version?
In my version 17.7.9, (called "Pushbullet - SMS on PC" in the store,) if I click the 'hamburger' menu, then click SMS, I am presented with some option switches which include 1) "SMS Sync" and 2) "Show SMS notifications from other devices on this device." Enable both on your phone, then do the same on your head unit.
Tablet Talk would do exactly this. I use it to do this exact thing over bluetooth between my phone and my tablet so I can respond to SMS, etc without taking my phone out and just using my tablet.

That looks very promising, gonna check it out. I'd rather not rely on tethering and cloud services.

wireless android auto

Wondering if there is any way to get AA working wirelessly as it does with a pixel.
Now that we have root etc. I wasn't ensure if that's something that could be modded.

The bigger issue isn't getting the phone to support it, it's getting the head unit in your vehicle to support... And almost none do. Last I looked into this, not a single auto manufacturer puts a compatible unit in their vehicles. Only option was aftermarket 3rd part head units.

Just tried in my car and the wireless android auto will not work. No issues using the cable but no to on the wireless.
I'm rooted, could that be an issue??

Not as far as I know of. Would be pretty odd for root to make wireless not work when wired does.

Nothing special at all. I just paired it like normal. I'll do it again tomorrow and see if I can be more specific as to exactly what I did
All I noticed from the article was a direct link to the play store. I already have the android auto app installed on my device (OnePlus 6t) I'll have to do go to the link in my 6t

I wanted to resurrect this thread as I can't get it to work. I have a Kenwood DMX905S and am able to get it to work via wired AA, but not wirelessly. Trying to figure out what I am missing.

I have the exact same stereo and cannot get it too work. I'm rooted and not sure if that's the issue??
The only thing I'm thinking is it's something in the coding of the app itself. I have a OP6T and it doesn't work either. It really makes no sense that it doesn't work
I've been told that once your phone has been upgraded to Pie it should work. Is that the case or is it restricted to just the pixel line?
Anyone mange to get AA wireless to work with DMX905s. Getting mixed results it seems?

Any Android Units that is "Satellite Ready"???

I've been unable to locate any 2Din Android OS radios that support SiriusXM components like the SXV300 . Do they even make any?

Well they probably could but it's a US only market so unlike the Apple Carplay dongles they've made in the last couple years the market it not as big. Maybe you can use an external USB tuner.

Would an external USB XM tuner show the channels, etc. on the display? ... or just feed it as another "AUX" input with audio only?
No but I use the Sirius XM app so as long as you have data connection you can access all of your satellite channels.
Sirius offers a bluetooth dock for mobile use.
SXBTD1V1 SiriusXM™ Bluetooth Vehicle Cradle You use this with a compatible dock n play unit. Currently out of stock at Sirus.
JMO This only makes sense if you drive in areas with good satellite reception but poor cell service. Running the sirius app directly on your HU, or on a mobile phone makes more sense. You can either use BT or apple play (android auto) to listen on your HU.
edited to add BT should show relevant information on your HU display.
Plenty of people say they use the Sirius Android app and stream the content over a mobile data connection. Maybe not ideal and potentially eating into your phone plan's data volume, but could be a good plan B.

All one needs is the serial protocol. SiriusXM is not likely to divulge it.

Close to reality, but...
The main reason that all these units are not able to receive SDARS is, that SiriusXM wants to get their requirements fulfilled and this needs a lot of work for the supplier. I know the requirements and all the tests you need to pass until you get the stamp "Ready for SiriusXM" on the unit. In the last few years, I managed these tests for some OEM units... and be sure this is no simple thing if you are not able to receive the real data by satellite. The effort is too expensive for low cost radios.
Without this license there is no way to get SDARS registered.

I am using a very kludgy solution, Android HU with an additional brand-name 1-din sat ready radio to control the SVX300. I'm decoding the serial output from the SVX to display on the HU, and sending simulated IR codes to the 1-din radio for tuning etc. But I haven't figured out the data format during rewind/replay (I haven't tried very hard yet). The serial/usb conversion is handled by an Arduino that I use for other stuff also. My app on the Android is adapted from the SCC1 program. I can see how it's a lot of work to support all the features.
The sirius xm app is supported by android auto
The information is displayed on your HU. I got it working
Alternately you could run he app on your HU. You'd need internet on your HU.
I dont think an internet only subscription includes NFL. If you need satellite XM get a plug n play adapter which outputs bluetooth

Pioneer SPH-8TAB-BT

Hi all, the Pioneer SPH-8TAB-BT is brand new and decided to open a topic about it.
First issue I have that there is no call-out button in the software, while if I am dialing a number on my phone, there is a screen that shows who I am calling.
Second, is there any other FM app that could work. The stock one is too ugly.
I found out voice dialing works if you update PSS in the Google Play Store, but there is no Bluetooth dialer app yet

Would be better to ask in a Pioneer forum.
The unit you got is too seldom at XDA. Seems that this is a real tablet just with a connector to the head unit.
No one knows what´s in there.

A car device without phone call possibility???
I would send this bull**** back wherever it comes from.... sorry, but this is not acceptable.
Just mounting a tablet on some mysterious radio without necessary functionality is not ready for sale.
OMG...
I agree, but other than that the device is great.
Anybody here who already has the device?
