Replacing icons? - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

I know Samsung have a icon store, but is there a way to enable Google play store icon packs as system wide? Annoying having icon packs in a launcher but then everything else is normal.

Nova launcher is your best choice

Edit:

black/gray shadow on top of homescreen

I need a little help. Im using nova on the s7 edge. There is this ugly black shadow ontop of my homescreen. It looks terrible whenever im using a colorful wallpaper. You can even notice it when using a darker wallpaper if you look close enough. Is there anyway to remove it? or is that build into samsung? i know it's not nova doing. thanks
You sure it's not Nova? Go to Nova Settings>Desktop>Advanced>Shadow (shows shadow on top of homescreen)

yeah it shows it when im on the " more option screen " too but when in the preview wallpaper screen..is not there. but once the wallpaper is applied...the shadow shows up.
I have exactly the same issue. Dark gray rectangle appears on top of my homescreen wallpaper in low light conditions. In normal daylight the rectangle disappears. It's not a hardware issue because other windows like settings and lockscreen dont have this problem. Its the homescreen wallpaper only.
Tried Nova and Smart launcher and even Touchwiz, same thing.
I have Android 6.0.1 stock samsung rom. I think its a software problem. Nougat is not available for my phone yet.
Any ideas?
I opened Theme Store app and applied original theme and the wallpaper which comes with the theme doesn't have this issue. As soon as I set a new wallpaper picked from my gallery the shadow is back on top of the screen.
I download a few other themes and applied them and all the wallpapers which came with them didn't have the shadow problem and were covering full screen perfectly. But as soon as I set a new wallpaper the problem reoccurs.
So this is definitely a software problem.

Well thee nuclear rom is based on Lineage OS which is AOSP so then the stereo speakers won't work. I also found the headphone audio and battery to be poor on Lineage os so im not really sure if it's worth it to go back to stock android.

You're wrong, stereo speakers work just fine, they have been fixed a couple of days ago.
You need to read more.

Best Dark Theme

Heya,
Just wondering, if you had to put a simple, but complete (full UI) dark theme on your Note 9... which one would it be (that you can find on the default samsung theme app).
I always use material dark or material black on my Samsung phones.

samsung theme store. search for them, you will find them.
You can use substratum with andromeda
If you want a COMPLETE dark theme, you'll want to get Swift Black.
I like Britzer. It's a very dark cool gray with Pixel blue accents and is very lightweight. For icons I use Pixelize.
Still in setup mode

I had been using these on my s9+ but it started to get real wonky in the last few months, to the point where it wasn't worth it and I removed it completely.
Do you guys just turn off auto updates on those apps and then deal with the annoyance of having to confirm that those aren't auto updates every time your other apps update? It seemed like a lot of times, my "don't auto update" apps would somehow end up auto updating again at some point, and it would frequently break the main google app, google search bar, youtube, etc.
Still a lot better than the days you'd have to hook it back up to a PC to run andromeda, but a hassle none the less and having the main google app constantly break on me was a bad enough experience that I just went back to a dark samsung theme. Curious to see others' experience with it

I turned off auto updates in google play settings and will update apps together with "Swift for Samsung" theme so that the apps won't crash. The update cycle of the theme is frequent enough (atleast once a week). My expereince with the swift themes is really good as it themes many 3rd party apps unlike a samsung theme.

Ya, its a google server side switch as well. I have seen in the recent past people who have gotten it in the actual google app. Many have also gotten the full dark theme in now/feed/discover and had it revert back to the non-dark.

Mine isn't dark in Nova at all. I switch back to Pixel launcher and the background is dark, but each feed is still white.
