Hi, were you able to roll back the firmware? Would flashing be possible on the 928V? I have would like to be able to use the LTE bands that the Verizon version version has switched off by default..

Hi,
I've bought a new unlocked Samsung Galaxy Note 4, and I thought it did receive the lollipop update by now.. but when I checked if there's an update or not, it says to me that I got the latest update !!
I've got the KitKat 4.4.4 and my baseband version is N910FXXU1ANK4.
does this seems to be right or there's something wrong with my device ?!
I want to mention that in the beginning I put a non-UK sim and it said to me that the device is locked 'I think because I have to put a UK sim first', then when I change it to a UK sim it worked normally ... can this be the reason of not getting the update ?
Have you connected it through Kies yet? That's how I updated mine

The Vodafone Lollipop rom has been released ahead of the BTU (Network Free) rom.
Do you use the preinstalled network bloat? If not, then why not download an unbranded 5.0.1 from samfirmware. The DBT should be still the same, just change the language to English during setup...
Yup I bought the UK (international) unlocked version last week, and mine is still on kit kat 4.4.4. Keeps saying this is the latest version. I did email Samsung asking if they could just clear the confusion for me as to whether the lollipop update had been released yet. They just replied with instructions on how to go to settings and check for updates. I replied saying that was not what I asked. I know how to check for updates, I'm not thick. I just wanted to know if android 5 had been released for the unlocked unbranded version. Still waiting for reply ?

Yes, you don't need root and it will NOT trip knox. Download the firmware from samfirmware.com, on the download page, there is an instruction. It is very simple and easy.
If you look at sammobile.com it seems half the world has the update. Samsung doing a lousy job of keeping us updated.

I have upgrade my ROM to Marshmallow 6.01 which is causing some problem.. Since I didn't took official ROM backup, I couldn't roll back to original official.... Can someone help me on this and upload official room, so that I can get the official ROM back and go for OTA update.

Hello, let me understand, by original rom you mean 5.1.1? And I would be curious what problems do you have with 6.0.1? Did you try a full wipe after installing 6.0.1? Cheers
I faced the same problem, and found the original stock rom in below link.

Yes I need the firmware which comes with the phone I think it was 5.1.1 (N920CZDAXSG)... After upgrading 6.0.1 the problem is battery drains soon (Just in 25mins 100 to 0) even after factory reset, went to service centre got busted using custom ROM.. They will not reverse it to official version since its violation of terms and condition... That is why I want to go for any original official version so that I can go with OTA update from samsung itself.

It looks like I am getting the Nougat update possibly. I checked for software updates and it is downloading an update that is 1588.96 MB. That has to be Nougat right? Anyone else getting it?
Guess I should have did a google search first:
http://www.droid-life.com/2017/02/20/att-galaxy-s7-s7-edge-nougat/
Yes, that is the size of the Nougat update. It has been available for a few days. I've been running it a couple of days. Samsung

What are your opinions on the pros/cons of this AT&T Nougat firmware, vs the previous AT&T Marshmallow firmware? And vs the unbranded 935U firmware, if you've tried that?
I see a couple of threads discussing flashing back to MM from Nougat, so it looks like not everybody was happy with the update. And I also see people who feel the unbranded 935U firmware is better than any carrier-branded firmware thanks to the reduction in bloat, even if it means no Nougat for now.
I just got an unlocked Verizon-branded phone, and will be reflashing it to either Unbranded 935U, AT&T Nougat, or AT&T Marshmallow. Not sure which one yet.
Hello,
So I recently rooted and installed a rom on my Galaxy S8 (extreme syndicate method). But I wanted to unroot and go back to stock so I downloaded a firmware from sammobile and flashed it using odin (I only added the BL, AP, and CP files during flash) and now it gets stuck on the samsung logo at boot. Can't enter recovery (can enter download mode).
So I think I'm not downloading the correct firmware for my phone from sammobile maybe? I have tried 4 different firmwares (2x android 9.0 firmwares - gives the stuck on samsung logo issue and 2x android 7.0 firmwares fail to flash correctly in Odin)
How do I know the right PDA or CSC version numbers for my phone without being able to get into it? I'm in Australia and it's a SM-G950U however not sure of the origins of the phone (could be an import, not sure).
Or any other things I could try to get it back to stock?
Thanks!
Well you need to go to about phone and look at build number. And when you flash the firmware flash csc. You rooted and dont know what build number you have? The firmware you flash has to be on the same bootloader of the current firmware you have

Thanks for your reply.
So I followed the instructions here to root forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8/development/root-t4060701 flashing the G950USQU7ASK1 firmware and worked fine.. I am unsure of the stock firmware/build number for this phone though. I can't find any compatible firmware on sammobile either.

I suggest getting your Stock ROM not from xda, but from Sammobile. To find your ROM on Sammobile, you need your phone model. You can find your phone model in Settings -> About phone. It's called "Model number". Then, use that to find your ROM on Sammobile.
The reason why your flash didn't work, is because you may have left out "CSC".
---------- Post added at 06:14 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:49 PM ----------
It's me again. So this is the page for your exact model: https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/galaxy-s8/firmware/#SM-G950U
But it only seems to have ROMs for USA.
However this other version of the S8 does: https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/galaxy-s8/firmware/SM-G950F/XSA/
I suggest using the latter link. It's for a S8 from a different market, but it'll work regardless.

The latter link you posted isnt even for his model. If your gonna post info. It needs to be the correct info.
---------- Post added at 12:53 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:52 PM ----------
If you used extreme syndicate method you are on or near the latest firmware. Despite being 7.0 you are still on the latest. So its gonna be a bit 7 firmware. 5th digit from the far right end. Will be a 1 through 7. You need any firmware with a 7.
---------- Post added at 12:54 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:53 PM ----------
If your on windows. Google and download frija its fast and quick for latest firmware. So much better than Sam mobile or any site.

Dude, I know. I mentioned it in the reply.
That ROM will work on their device anyway, and it has the latest security update.

it is rooted, and bootloader unlocked - uses TWRP
it is using the stock from from google version 4.4.4
build number ktu84p.g530btvju1ank1
baseband version g530btvju1ank1
i dont care about the TV, so not a problem if this function gets lost
i need to run discord on this mobile
can you please tell me which rom and version i should instal on this date - 2020-07-20?
is there someway to download a rom and only update without loosing settings and aps?
thanks a lot
Hi
I don't know what is your phone build number exactly but I suggest lineage 16 or 17.1 and you can find them from here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/grand-prime/development
but first of all , since you have Android 4.4.4 on your phone you should update it to 5.0.2 (The latest official stock rom for Grand Prime) .
