Hey guys,
on my nexus 4 i could wipe everything, so everything is deleted. Then i could flash a factory IMage over adb, so i had a completly clean install. Is this possible with Op2? I´d like to delelte all the old stuff. A Factory Reset in TWRP wouldnt do this.
Thanks
sorry for my english :/

And then? What do i have do to? I thought all is deletet, so i cant flash a rom, correct?
EDIT: I want to flash a custom rom after the wipe
You can use ADB sideload or push. Or you can use OTG drive to transfer files.
Ok thanks. It is recommend? I think there is some old stuff from old apps which will not be delted by factory reset

More replies about settings?
OK, here's the process:
0: Boot to CWM Recovery
1: Wipe cache
2: Advanced -> Wipe dalvik cache
3: Flash 7.2
4: Reboot
If it doesn't boot, just pull out the battery and go to factory reset. (That obviously wipes everything, but is still better than going back to stock )

So you saying only if it dosen't boot i should wipe everything by choosing factory reset, but if i was "lucky" and the phone boot i stay with all my apps and settings?
By the way, what cache and dalvik cache exactly are?

Cache is the place for apps to store all their temporary data files, dalvik is explained here: Linky!

I put some personal ringtones in a folder on internal storage. I later installed a custom ROM and chose the full wipe factory reset, dalvik and cache etc. I was not expecting those files to be there after factory reset but they were. Is this normal?
Thanks!

Are you rooted? You can go in to TWRP and choose a wipe of the internal memory.
The factory reset just wipes out your system, data, caches and rebuilds them as new. Any other data stored on the phone outside of those areas are untouched.

Hi!
Yes, you can save your phone's data using adb:
Code:
adb pull /data /path/to/save/data
For example, if I want to save my data in a folder called 'data' on the desktop of my computer, I would use this:
Code:
adb pull /data /home/username/Desktop/data
Good Luck
in that matter whenever i see that kind of error like not responing"""""""""""""""
just go to application manager and touch left touch panel (depends on phone) reset app preferances
may it give you out of it. if no than wipe data from recovery or reload os
thnx
regards.
skhan
I cant click anything, it restarts as soon as being opened.
Is there any way different from adb, for example again updating ?
Hey. I would really like to help.

Can you go into recovery? If you can then go into recovery and backup your ROM. After that, get a CyanogenMod JB ROM in you phone from recovery, and install that CyanogenMod on top of aurora. You can wipe cache and dalvik cache. That will not delete your data.

You can't now. We always advise the people for read before do something. You can read in the guide:
"- Users are recommended to back-up all data before rooting the device."
*EDIT: You will have to wipe all (data/factory reset, cache and dalvik cache) and flash new stock firmware :highfive:

At first I forgot to tell you that my s4 is encrypted and i used the default encrypted from android.
In the past few days i doing some things could serve me in my case and I need help from everyone
1. i change the recovery to TWRP 2.7.0.1 using odin and i try to mount the storage but i do not find my data is't the data is removed ? but when the s4 boot before black screen he ask me my password for encryption and he knows is't wrong or not, Is this indicates my data is not removed ?
2.i try to find my data over using adb shell but i can not find anything.
My question is: Is my files still exist or not.
Can't you just try to wipe from the TWRP recovery.
1. Boot into the recovery. Then select Wipe. Then "Swipe to factory reset". This won't wipe your internal storage.
2. Flash a custom rom.
3. Boot.
You probably need an external sd card to put the rom on.
My guess is that it should work.

You need to be more specific. What data? You mean phonenumbers, text and apps? Those are lost.
Data on your internal storage like pictures, video and music are not going to be wiped.
Sorry to say, but you don't have any option execpt flashing firmware.
If you want to try other tricks etc so please be careful, your phone can be brick with single wrong step.

In last 3 days I flashed 4 different 4.4.2 firmwares on i9505 with ODIN. But I was surprised to see that after successful flashing I find everything same in sattings (Wallpaper, KK Launcher etc...) then I checked *ABOUT PHONE* to make sure that phone is flashed or not. But I was flashed, after that I went to recovery mode and factory reset to wipe everything. All I want to say that is it possible that after flashing my all settings remain same on newly flashed firmware...?
