Phone App Randomly Quit Working, Factory Reset Doesn't Fix - Moto G4 Questions & Answers

XT1625 all stock and running OTA Nougat. I suspect something is corrupt in the firmware, but that's just a guess. I might just try and reflash the factory firmware on it. Is there a tutorial on that some where?

[Q] Cannot Update to Lolipop from NK2 kernel and cannot flash anything with Odin

Hello guys! I am having issues trying to update my Verizon S5 to Lolipop. I had been previously rooted and since uninstalled safestrap and SuperSU. When I tried to update to lolipop, it would fail and not update at all. I factory reset my phone to see if that work. It didn't. Then I had remembered that I had uninstalled a ton of bloatware previously and I might have accidentally uninstalled something that the phone needs to update. So I hooked up my phone to my computer and tried to use odin and install the factory NK2 firmware. I put my phone in download mode and it did start downloading but it didn't flash it at all and just rebooted. What should I do?
Thanks.

The firmware isn't what you should use by itself. Try flashing an nk2 stock tar, factory reset from recovery after flashing, and then try updating.

SMG900A Stuck In Boot Loop

I need this fixed asap as I need my phone for school.. I have no idea what Happened honestly, I just restarted my phone and it started doing this. The only thing i recall doing is possibly disabling SuperSU on accident before I restarted my phone.
All I've done so far is download the stock firmware from SamMobile and attempted to flash it, but when i do i get an (auth) failed code from Odin, I've been searching for hours and haven't found anything that has helped..
If you have TWRP installed, try removing SuperSU via the file manager in recovery, or flash SuperSU again
The Auth! problem is likely due to you trying to flash an older ROM version than is installed, and the bootloader won't allow it
Tried clearing caches from recovery / factory reset?
Can you help with a newer model?

i don't have anything recovery installed, its jsut the normal android recovery. I thought about reflashing supersu but I'm not sure how without a recovery..
Have you tried the factory reset from normal recovery?

Lost count of the number of threads about bricked G900A and G900P these last few weeks
Something about the latest Lollipop firmware, locks the bootloader from downgrading, even to just an earlier version of Lollipop, and it's a nightmare to try and find ODIN flashable ROMs for the latest release
Right now, unless someone else can think of something, all I can suggest is either taking / sending it in for repair, or wait for Marshmallow to arrive, and hope an ODIN flashable ROM arrives for that
Might as well give flashing TWRP a try (via ODIN), I don't expect it will work, but if you could get custom recovery running, you might be able to flash a custom ROM
Another thread with a similar issue, you could try this, but I'm expecting the same Auth! error

Tried flashing TWRP with the same end result.. This is dumb really frustrating -.- is there any way to install Supersu without a recovery?
CF Auto Root, but it'll likely fail too due to the bootloader
II have been working on mine same model and it is because once you screw up ,which i did,the locked boot loader wont let anything by. a relative pretty much started the problem by flashing a ROM and erasing everything. this one wont even go into recovery. still wont give up until I figure out a way just because.......

PF4 Rooted upgrade BRICKS every time. Am I the only one?

I have tried going from PB1 rooted, with dev-mod bootloader, to PF4 rooted rom. Tried both FF and Safestrap, and it bricks every time. They brick differently, but they both brick the phone.
It can't be a true brick or you wouldn't be able to try again. If your phone is hanging on the Samsung logo or Verizon boot animation, then you may not have wiped your data partition. If you are coming from a LP build, meaning PB1 or earlier, you will need to wipe data because MM handles data differently. I would also recommend flashing the ROM in TWRP.
I've completely wiped my phone, went back to stock OK3 Rom and tried again. 6 times already. Tried installing it through TWRP also. No luck.
Which PF4 ROM are you trying to load?

Stock Recovery

Does anyone know where I can get the stock recovery?
Nevermind. dottat has it covered per usual.

What did you need it for ? Factory reset of radios doesn't happen on the 10 using stock recovery like it did on the 8
Slowly figuring this out. haha
I guess for nothing anymore
Do we not need the stock recovery for Ota?
I'm seriously confused now.
@Icyman if you have everything 100% you can ota. But if you are on a custom rom why not simply flash the updated firmware zip?

Flashed wrong fw

Today after i updated to android nougat I tried to flash with odin firmware (SM-G930T_1_20160704090453_jo3tv4r6ht_fac) to go from 930p to 930u but it failed, and after that my phone doesnt want to restart, when i want to trun on recovery menu it crashes after 5 sec and reboot again, i can turn on download mode and try flashing some other firmware to repair my nougat one. Anyone have nougat fw for 930p so I can flash it and make my phone work correctly, or maybe i can downgrade to lower fw. Please help me and give advice how i can fix this. Nougat was working correctly but flashing the SM-G930T_1_20160704090453_jo3tv4r6ht_fac was a mistake and I ****ed up my phone.
@edit I just flashed it with APJ2 and it is working fine again. We can close this
Was there any other people besides you that had flashed that firmware? lol i would never do that to an 800 dollar phone unless it's a community that flashed that firmware then maybe i would. Try browsing sammobile for the firmware. The software version for nougat is BQAA. Hope i helped.
