New one does 9v @ 1.67A as well as 5v @ 2A. The 9v @ 1.67A is fast charging.

So that's why... But the old S7 had fast charging as well...? No?

I use the black S8 charger at home and the white S7 charger (with USB-C adapter) at work. Both seem to fast charge my S8+ with no problems

You have an older charger, or perhaps a non genuine charger. Even the fast charging S7 adapter supported 9v at 1.67A.
Yours is the legacy 5V 2A only. (10W)

So you guys saying this is not the original one that came with the S7? I was sure it was. What does it look like then?

It looks the same, with 5V 2A AND 9V 1.67A at the back.
It'll also have "Adaptive Fast Charging" or "Fast Charging" (depending on market) written on it.
Oh I see. That might be the old S6 charger then...

2A is standard charging for most of modern smartphone nowaday,
You have either older charger from s4/s5 era maybe, or non genuine one
Genuine s7 charger spec'ed at both 9 & 5v
Thanks for the heads up everyone!

Hi
I'm using N9005 model, and the car charger is Scosche 2.1A, using simple micro usb 2.0 cable. It charges only about 30% per hour. I tried the usb 3.0 cable but i don't think it helped. It shows "charging AC" but still slow charging. Anyone knows what's the reson for that slow charging?
Thanks
Try another charger I doubt it is a phone problem

simple car will never charge that fast i have a proper sammy car charger that is about 30% a hour ,so dont worry about it
Besides, 30%/hour isn't bad...
I've been connected to a pc that didn't do 20% over 4 hours so I don't know what you're complaining about...
Most of the above replies are false.
I have a Kingston dual usb car charger that gives me from 900 to 1,100 mAh (using Galaxy charging current app). But it's been 850 to 1,000 majority of the time.
I'm not happy though, because it's rated at 2.1A per usb slot.
Yes , it says that right the specs.
Home Charger gives me 1,100.

I use an Anker 24w dual from amazon and stock cable, works great
That's why i only use a original Samsung charger.
I use a car charger for Tab / Note 10.1 with 2A and have the same charging power how the home charger (230 Volt)

Do keep in mind - wall charger gives out 5.3V, if the car adapter doesn't, then you have a problem.
After reading all about battery (and experience it myself), Quick Charge 2.0 still deteriorates your battery because of the resultant heat. Lithium battery will deteriorate because of heat primarily. The faster you charge, the warmer it gets. it's simple. So no wonder Qualcomm have said that the QC 3.0 is 38% more efficient, because with it, they can monitor the voltage change more gradually. Qnovo on X Performance should be more or less the same (if not better) to QC 3.0.
So my words on this matter are: Be grateful to charge with old standard charger you've been supplied by Sony. It should keep your phone battery last longer and definitely will retain the re-selling price better. Yes it might take your time, but your life is not only inside your phone

It averages around 2 and a half hour from zero for full charge with standard charger. With an adaptive charger of Samsung Note4 though, it charges my z5p for exactly 2 hours. It might be faster with true QC 2.0 ones but if i charge it while I'm working/sleeping, the hour/half won't be noticeable.
I got the uch10 with my x performance and with airplane mode in I can get a full charge in about 1 hour 40 min
Sent from my F8131 using Tapatalk
i got the uch10 charger and can go from 1% to 80% in about 15-20 mins, that's what came with the phone when i got it and they were nice enough to include a free adapter for american plugs.
I just wish Sony gave better headphones then the crap I got total garbage

Yes the international charger that came with the phone charges is VERY fast. I was impressed and thought it must be fake. But it isnt..
I am buying a QUalcomm Charger 3.0 to see if that charger will do the same as the factory charger. I need a charger for USA that fits my wall outlets. This adapter thing kinda sucks.
But, my Hong Kong Xperia X Performance was given with UCH10, which is a QC 2.0 charger LOL
This thread is BS... Using a QC2.0 charger from Aukey since day one... No issues whatsoever...
Regards.

yeah quick charge don't deteriorated the battery.. this dude is smoking some bad gonja
I just got one and the battery temperature doesn't seem to differ from the regular non-quickcharge adaptor that came with the phone.
Even the one I received yesterday has a QC2.0 charger. Version F8131. Very nice phone!

You can use any charger you have in hand.
This Nexus charger will work fine, quick charge won't work because op2 doesn't support that only standard 5V 1.5A/2A

Pretty sure that's only if you use a cheap low quality charger.
As long as it's a good quality charger, then it will be fine. I've been using an Anker multiport charger for over a year with no issues. Got the USB-C compliant Anker cables recently as well, the default OP2 cable isn't exactly great quality.
Can someone please explain to me the full capacity of the LGV 23 capabilities . Specifically how much maximum input of Watts can you get with charging. I know that charger that comes with it is 18 W but would you be able to use up to 24 W or how does that work?
Also can someone please explain why the Samsung charger I have does not charge my LGVu 23 it has a charging symbol at the top when I connected but it's losing power as it's plugged in the specifications are 9 V DC 1.67a 5V DC 2.0a
Thanks

What device are you referring to? This is the LG V20 forum, but you said Vu23 and V23. I haven't had any problems using Samsung chargers with either or our V20's. Have you tried a different cable? Are you using the original cable?

Sorry it's an lg v20. I'm just using that Inge as a backup charger. Yes I've used the one it comes with and works fine.
The wattage is on the phone end. If the charger can put out 18 watts, the phone will take 18 watts. It will only draw that much during peak charging, and taper off as the phone reaches full charge. I don't think there's any advantage to using a higher rated charger than what came with the phone. The battery circuit will only draw so much, to keep from overheating.
There's not much to troubleshoot. Try a different cable. Try a different charger. Try a different phone. Go into Settings>Battery and Power and see if it's showing that it's charging. There aren't any other settings.

Last I checked only samsung chargers support 25-45w on the note 10 (don't think any 3rd party has made something with the proper PD configuration yet). Don't think they've released a 25w car adapter yet.

You can calculate the watts yourself. Pretty easy by multiplying the voltage by the amperage . On that one the two options are:
5v*2a = 10 watts
or
9v*1.67a = 15 watts
thanks man. I guess I knew that but hadn't used it in so long. anyone found a high watt car charger ?
