Hello everyone , first of all sorry for my English
I have big problem with my Streak , and i see that lot of people has it tooo , but no one can help.
I bought dead Streak , it dosent respond on anything.
I was thinking that this is because of flat battery , but i bought universal charger , and charged it to 3.72V , and that didnt do nothing , it was still dead.
Then i changed Qualcomm PM7540 Power Management chip , and still nothing.
Then i changed Texas Instruments TPS 65023 Integrated Power Management IC and still its dead.
I didnt reball , i have changed this units(pm7540 and TPS65023) to new as if this was better way to see if its their fault but i supose that isnt their fault because Dell is still dead
Next i tried to fix bootloader but zero response from riff box.
Now im stuck and dont know what to check. What can cause that Streak is totally dead to everything???
Please someone help me , that is not only my problem.
Thanks very much
Like you, I bought a dead Streak. Unlike you I don't have the skills to replace chips (I wish I was that clever).
What I did was to replace the entire motherboard. Which seems like cheating compared to your efforts.
Tomorrow I will check a motherboard with an oscilloscope, there is quartz near PM7540 , maybe it is dead and maybe it blocks PM7540 from starting all units

I humbly stand before you with awe and respect. I feel like I am in the presence of a superior being.
Please come back with your update.
I have a motherboard that doesn't work for me but you may be able to perform your magic on it, so you are very welcome to have it.
Hello, I actually have a small problem on my phone.. I searched for the solutions but I am unable to find a reliable fix.. Everybody has a quite different type of this problem..
Phone model: Meizu m2 note
Previous os : Flyme 5(stock)
Current OS: Cm 12.1 (by Moyster on xda)
SCREEN FLICKERING
Well, before I start I would like to say that my phone has actually survived a water bath.. The phone fell in the swimming pool when my friends were trying to click a pic.. It didn't switch on, on the same day, but I disassembled it completely, and let it dry for a week.. Later the phone worked completely fine.. It's been 3 months since the incident...
Well the problem now is the SCREEN FLICKERING.. I guess It has nothing to do with the water damage cause that was almost 3 months back and this problem started around a month ago, when I was on flyme 5. And nope, the phone has never fallen off my hands.. The phone works fine for maybe the first 30 minutes after keeping it idle for a long time... The screen flickers even during the bootup, fastboot, and even in recovery..
I have two Meizu m2 note in my home.. The other one is my mom's phone.. And I almost update same roms on both the phones.. And my mom's phone is working completely fine and not facing this problem.. I don't have a warranty for this anymore, but I can still give it to the company's service center.. The main reason I posted this thread is because I just wanna know if this is a software or a hardware problem.. Cause in few other threads they said that this had sumthng to do with the kernel and stuff.. I don't wanna leave my phone at a service center for 2 months if this is fixable at home..
Not the complete screen flickers, but only the upper top part of the screen..
I have attached a YouTube link for a perfect view of the screen.. The phone on the video is my phone..!

I would really appreciate if you would help me on this.. thank you..

Is there any way to fix it, or i have to give it to the service center..?
Well, I asked one the senior members of XDA, and got this reply.. yes, it was helpful...!
if your phone went in a pool and you disassembled it and made it working again, you might have forgotten to re-sit the cables / cables connectors, and the more you use the phone, the looser it gets....
Considering you said 3 months (and I'll assume India is a humid country), this might be a connector having corrosion too (I know it happens a lot to my cousin in the Caribean islands).
If that flickering keeps happening even after you check cables and corrosion, I guess (considering meizu parts are cheap) your only solution is to change the LCD screen (as this is a miniature part, some water can get stuck in really tiny/enclosed space and make a short-circuit/corrosion).
Assuming this happened 3 months after the "pool drama" ( ) you should probably be able to repair your phone, the board works, the battery works, if it's not the cables or corrosion, it's the LCD display.. And if all that doesn't work, contact Meizu

I'm soo sorry I did not inform you about this! :victory:
Well, it was just like u said.. I disassembled the phone completely and found salt like white powder all over the motherboard.. Even inside the cable connectors!
Soo I cleaned it up using a soft brush with some liquid..
Blew some pressurized air with a small air gun I have, just to remove the small dust contents.. I also noticed that the connectors have turned brownish in some parts. . But..!
The flickering has almost reduced 90%..! Before it flickered all day long and now it happens only once or twice a day..! That too only for 5 to 10 minutes..!
Well it's okay now.. I didn't spend any money, or give it to the service center and wait for weeks..
Thank you @Moyster.. I wud have never even tried this if u didn't tell me to.. I was planning on giving it to the company itself.. Haha... :fingers-crossed:
Hello
I got my s7 edge 20 days ago and today i accedently drop it in water for about 0.5 seconde
The phone shutdown and doesn't work anymore :crying:
But after 1 hour-after plug in the charger- It worked and i was happy but sadly when i remove the charging cable the phone sutdown again
any solution please ?
edit : i put the phone in the rice already now.
You probably damaged it.Next time you get a waterproof phone, chech without water if it is waterproof then dunk it.Most devices cant survive when phone fells in water because of a high pressure at that one second.Sorry but you must buy a new device.
Its only just 20 days.. Return it to seller/ visit service centre to claim warranty..
If something happens within 14 days they will replace it with a brand new device.. since its already 20 days, they will fix it free of cost.. Dont worry.
Just give it back and play dumb.. Say it just happened and U didnt do anything.. They will try to blame you.. Be careful just deny any accusations lol.
They cant do ****.
They have to replace your phone/ repair it free of cost..
The phone fell into water not a solid surface. So no visible defects/scratches. So u are good.
Go there and Claim your warranty and terrorize seller/ service centre or both lol
Thanks guys
Samsung Comapny here in Tunisia was kinda lovely.
They apologize for the damage cause the phone was already owned by a member of them wich they opned it for the test and forget to put it in storage
Anyways, they gave me a brand new s8+ + Gear VR and they throw it in water in front of me just to make sure it's working.
Wow lucky
Ikr haha
Ok guys maybe will work for your or not if u are reading this means that also u know what bootloop is. I am aware of the "new" way of fixing this by using only 4 cores instead of 6, well for me did not work so well. After a lot of scratching swears and other stuff i realized that actually this is a hardware problem, and i need to look at it as such.
01.So in the beginning i did try the oven charm, well was good for few hours... but after a short time it started to randomly reboot, specially after i was charging the phone(or getting intensive with it). (but not bootloop)
02. Second time i did use a strong hairdryer, to be more friendly, same thing few hours after it started with the random reboots. (but not bootloop)
so
03. i am suspecting that the problem starts from the snapdragon chipset, maybe a slow connection, so i added some pressure to the chip by adding some aluminum foil on top of it. Till now like this is working proper
CZ: So the main thing is: Because i set pressure on the Snapdragon chipset now my phone works again ^_^
IF situation changes i will let you know, but until now for me was the only way to fix this. (and believe me i did try all the software ways)
Later edit: almost two days since the massage and is rocking ^_^ jaja
I did that too, it worked for 2 or 3 days, then started to fall again.
If you want a permanent fix for your 5X you'll have to get the SoC re-soldered like these guys here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-5x/general/4gb-ram-upgraded-nexus-5x-t3588743
Third day for me still working
Got a free replacement mother board from LG in India
I had a bootloop problem last week after upgrading to 8.0.0 through the beta route. Phone was manufactured in 2015 and bought by me in Apr 2016. Hence, it was out of warranty. The phone was bought through the Google store. Initially, it was completely dead. Maybe through bootlooping it exhausted the battery. Anyway I charged it for several hours and then put it in the freezer for 2 hours. It started and went into bootloop. I could get it to go to bootloader mode and recovery mode. I then rang up Google support and after two phone calls and discussion on chat they sent me an email which said that I should contact LG in New Delhi, India where I am located. Yesterday I visited LG repair center. They without any demurring or hesitation agreed to replace the motherboard. They only wanted to see the invoice and despite it being out of warranty they are replacing the motherboard. I asked the executive why I should trust a new motherboard as many people have reported problems after getting a replacement. He said, and I cannot confirm the veracity, that the there are some changes in the new motherboard and it should not go into bootloop. I will only know once I get the phone back next week and run it over a period of time. Will keep people updated. Even though I bought it in India and it was delivered from Singapore by Google LG has replaced the motherboard.
hahaha hair dryer
I baked my motherboard in my mom's baker.
It's last about week then i sell it.
RIP MY LG G3
Is it still running ? Could you upload some pictures on where you applied the foil ?
at the moment not is not running it started to randomly reboot, and i made another flame bake and is gone, i will buy another cheap dead phone to play with, anyway this method is good if u want to recover at least the files bla bla, i need to find a better way how to fix the chipset. anyway is fun
I just baked my wife's 100% stock locked 5x.. 2 minutes at 150°c (from cold to temp, timed after it reached temperature) and 30 seconds at 235° ( again not setting the timer until it reached temperature).. Used a hair dryer to slowly bring the temps down ( mine has a cold air button) then put it in the freezer for 5 minutes...
Booted, transferred files, installed apps and its still running several hours later.. I'm going to factory reset it, unlock it and mod it until it dies..
I bought her a Nokia 7 plus replacement phone..
Hey guys,
I have a first gen S4 that i purchaesed 3 days after realese.
Ever since I've had my screen and charge port replaced on my S4 it is having a horrible overheating problem with minium use. So replaced it with another new screen again, thinking it was faulty.
That did nothing so I purchased a new battry as it was getting old but nope still nothing.
I ran a full restore and update to 5.0.1 (Final OTA?) And made sure all software is upto date but it keeps on overheating and shutting down all apps.
Today is a cold cluoudy day with the outside temp being 16oC Celsius and fairly chilli and running SatNav/GPS only with no background apps still overheat's the phone.
The only way to make sure it don't happen is buy putting the aircon on to full blast !!! Which is driving me crazy as it's freezing outside.
I've read now that the first gen S4''s had a possible defect that causes this. Any sugesstons?
Thanks
Hi,
Only thing i can think of is disabling NFC and removing your phone from the charger when it is fully charged. Only had problems with overheating while doing the opposite from what i mentioned. Replacing the battery recently (It was 5 years old) solved the overheating issue for me, since i do not have to charge it all the time anymore.
You could install a new mainboard, but i reckon it would be cheaper to just upgrade to a new model.
SOLVED!
Just an update regarding this. I have solved the problem.
It was the screen replacement after all! It was a FAKE! A poorly made one at that. I got lucky a few months back trawling through hundreds of posts from years ago when someone mentioned right after he replaced his screen with a cheap one off ebay, the phone went crazy hot and would shutdown.
Hoping this was the problem I purchased an OEM screen from a distributor, I got lucky as they where getting rid of old stock and I got it for cheaper then the fake stuff on ebay, and what do you know, it worked!
So guys, if you replace your screen and your phone starts overheating like crazy, then you definitely have a low quality fake thats causing it, that is 100% confirmed!
Hope this helps!
