Anyone know how these are rolled out? I have a G2 on T-Mobile. A friend of mine got his 4.4 update on his T-Mobile Note 3 the day it was released. Here it is weeks later and I'm still on 4.2.2 and the G2 update was released before the Note 3
As the title say: will the upcoming nougat update be released at the same time for all the different models (U, G, etc)?
I couldn't find this info anywhere, and I think is a legit question considering the different development cycle that the different models had until now.
On a side note, I think it would be great if they merged the development for all the models in a single build.
Probably not, but around similar times yes.
ZTE Germany confirmed that it will be pushed out for everyone the same time. But I guess this is not possible because of servers.
Considering rumours and unofficial statements from either ZTE Germany and ZTE USA, both the U and G model will get the update before the end of January. I don't know about the Chinese version tough...
So yes it will be released at approximately the same time (give or take a week).
Hi,
My LG-G6 isn't receiving any updates at all. I am still at Android security patch of march 1, 2017.
Is it normal?
These are some of my phones info:

Build Number: NRD90U
Software version: V10b-OPT1-HQ
Hardware Version: Rev.1.0
I guess my phones region is EU.

Software version and security patch level?
Oh i just noticed your signature. At least your software version is V11i-234-30. Mines still stuck at v10b.
Have you checked LG Bridge?
I'm also on a H870 in the UK. Been running Oreo, April 2018 security patch, for the last month or 2. Got almost all of my 4 updates so far using Bridge.

Tried LG Bridge kept getting same return "your current version of software is up to date"
EE are notorious for late updates but this is ridiculous, currently using a Nokia 7 plus until EE do the right thing, but having been using O 8,1 since I got the Nokia I find Nougat cumbersome.

Has it ever been rooted or otherwise /system modified?

No, just stock from day I received it.

Last security patch I received from EE was 1 January 2018, and it is now nearly the end of June.

Nope. Totally stock and nothing has been changed.
I also am on January security update with stock at&t version NO sign of an update as of yet though I read that at&t is currently updating the G6 to Oreo. Nothing here yet, Soon it will be a year that Oreo was released this is poor for both LG and at&t with a so called flagship phone that I paid top dollar for.
Got my G6 today and several large updates were applied to Nougat and the last one, around 1800
MB iirc, was an update to Oreo.
All running well and the whole process worked without issue.
Using GiffGaff in the UK.
This is the G6 thread.

You sure that's Oreo? Pretty sure the 2015 G4 won't ever receive it.

Oops. I had meant to write G6. I bought it as a refurb from ebay.
I'll correct that now. Thanks.
why not just download open EU .kdz (Oreo) and flash it? I flashed using LGUP and Uppercut, took 5 minutes, I'm not rooted either.

Indeed
Corrected now, well spotted.
I remember exchanging posts with you several years ago in a forum / thread where we shared the same tablet, an Advent Vega. At the time we were using a custom made ROM.
More processing poser in these phones now...!!!!

Hi
Yes, still have the Vega but then got a Samsung Pad 2 (rooted etc) and currently on an Apple iPad Air 2. My G6 resting in its box until EE decide to do the right thing and update it to Oreo.

Isn't the Nokia 7 plus the better phone? What does the G6 do better?

Different chipset, Qualcom MSN8996 Snapdragon 821 Quad core Kyro @ 2x2.35 & 2x1.6 w/Adreno 530 which was last year's LG flagship, against what is considered a mid-range phone. Not sure if it is really any better except maybe the Cameras but that is not really the point, I am on contract with EE and I expect them to keep me up to date. Last security patch was Jan

On v11i-234-30 here with last security update (Jan 2018) received after I bought this in March as a refurb.
Was quite positive when I heard LG were setting up the update unit but with hindsight feel that's probably targeted at the G7 and onwards.
Will probably see if it drops this month before downloading the Oreo update ref'd above, but it's frustrating. Seem to recall the G4 and G5 got pretty quick updates.
As the beta testing of Honor 7x GPU Turbo (which is restricted to China) has ended a week ago.
So, anyone with the Global variant received it yet ?
FYI,they announced Europe's variants gonna get it December.
They eaelier told that they will release in September... No sign of that yet
