Best Nougat ROM for Moto X Play

Hi everyone,
I hope you are doing well. I'm looking for a estable Nougat ROM for our device, with great battery life and without notification problems.
Can you guys give me a recommendation?

Everyone have their own choice, Max all the roms are stable and awesome to use.
I personally use AOSP Extended.

I ask Moto X Play owners the same question than ocovarr112.
I will follow this topic.

I'm using Lineage OS for now, while the device specific repo is a bit abandoned we are still getting more support than with any other ROM and the upstream security patches arrive monthly without delays.

yes...both sim working.

slim rom works great. Android 7.1.2. june 2017 security patch. Notification led (white) installed.
However, i noticed a 15% more batery drain. Dont know what is it so far.

Viper OS. For me it's the only one without trouble. Simple, complete.
I like AOSP Extended, but for some reason with this ROM, I'm not able to play FLAC files or some of my videos files...
I think that most of the nougat ROM are fine, it's just up to you to try them and choose your favorite.

I have tried Pure Nexus, LOS and ASOP Extended. I faced issued with Pure Nexus but LOS and AOSP Extended works like a charm.
My preference is AOSP extended because of the customization it offers.

Thanks to Everybody. In the end I chose the purenexus ROM as I thought it is the one that had the best balance between features and stability.

I'll give AEX a try, let's see AEX 5.0?

its the best 8.0.0 ....
but its alpha there is a lot of bugs.
im using lineage 14.1 20171123 nightly with most of aroma gapps 7.1 and its working better than all the roms nougat even the stock.

remember nitrogen from my nexus 6 days, would love to see a build too

Back in when I was using OnePlus One, NitrogenOS was THE BEST until I sold my phone.
I will be thrilled to bones if NitrogenOS makes it to OnePlus 3/3T as well !! :fingers-crossed:

Was my go to rom when i used to use Redmi Note 3 Pro. Hope any dev brings NOS to 3/3T

This is a lot more stable then the majority of 8.0.0 ROMs out right now for the OP3/T, with the exception being Validus I think. Do you know how to swap back button with recent apps? I don't natively use my phone the way the ROM has it set by default, but I am sure I can get used to it. Couldn't find anything in settings.

Bug I found, charging doesn't show symbol but still charges but it isn't Dash Charging.

Do i have to format data before installing?

Only other Oreo rom that is more stable right now imo is Validus. Anything else has pretty big issues that repeat across flashes.

For Validus I use the official GZOSP GAPPS they link in the thread which work flawlessly. For anything else I use ARM64 8.0 Pico from OpenGAPPs
The only problem I currently have with Validus is the battery drain. Once Paranoid Android or Dirty Unicorns comes out with Android 8.0 I will probably use those ROMs.

Omni has the best battery life so far from custom Oreo ROMs ...

[Looking for suggestions] What is your favorite, (dev aboot) rom for your S5 g900v?

I just unlocked my boot loader last week following @jrkruse guide and am running his QA1_STOCK_ROOTED_DEODEXED ROM. I would love to hear what other people are using and try out other roms. Please let me know what your favorites are and why you like them.

Resurrection Remix r29 is my favorite due to its tweakablilty and being completely stable with updates about once a month.

I just wanted to say thanks again for the heads up on Resurrection Remix. I have to say that from the first 5 minuets of running this Rom, i felt like i was home. Its been 7 days, and so far and i only have good thing to say about rr... So yeah Thanks again :good:

You can either wait for oreo builds from @ Teamex or i would rather suggest Resurrection Remix rom which is preety stable in my opinion and offer great level of customisation

Yea i forgot Bluetooth.. As till now there was no use bluetooth was not even in my mind. Thn u can blindly go for RR Official or AOSP the stable roms. I prefer to be updated ? thats the reasong I am on oreo what works what not doesn't matter to me???

Try pairing with audio devices like a Bluetooth headset

i'm using woivod version of AEX, splendid rom

[emoji848][emoji846] I prefer vipor os by impulser or cr driod rom...i used not all but i used most of them but i like this 2 rom...smooth battery backup is awesome no bug....camera quality is same on all the rom..u can use mi camera it work perfect...

ASOP rom is quite stable and we can use all apps that identifies root access

Someone already have a similar post so posting same responce here as well to help you decide or confuse
LineageOS 14.1 from Daniel.Stuart ( 25th Oct Build is by far best or go for next one which is supposed to be fully stable )
Pros --> Rom having active development and developer is very interactive in replies.
Cons --> No video call in Volte but that is general for all.
[OREO][8.0.0_r33]XPerience 12.0.0 by TeamMex --> It's Oreo so have few bugs but the developer is the best on for Redmi 3s.
Pros --> OTA and latest from Google (oreo 8.0)
Cons --> VOLTE won't work
Most stable ones are below but they are abandoned ( no future development)
Lineage 14.1 from KarthikMostWanted
Darkness Redefined from XiaomiDev
Note --> No rom would give Video calling thr dialer for Volte.
I personally have used all of above for atleast 2 weeks ( except Oreo one which was for a week)
All are good battery and smooth but video calling is must for me I am on MIUI9 Global Developer ROM.

Help me build Lineage OS 14.1 or 15.1 for G8142 (EU version)

I bought this wonderful phone a while ago and I'm so happy I did.
First thing I did was to unlock the bootloader and install TWRP and then the NIGHTLY of CarbonROM which overall is fine, but I don't plan to use it much longer and I have several reasons for it.
My short time goal is to get this phone officially supported by Lineage, but the long term goal is to port it to Sailfish OS.
To port it to Sailfish OS (which means to build a hybris image to install on top of the Lineage image) I need a working local manifest that will either build Lineage 14.1 or 15.1.
https://github.com/Myself5/android_device_sony_maple is supposed to build Lineage 15.1 for this phone, but as a lack of enough needed RAM to build Lineage 15.1 I'm asking for assistance to make that come true.
To get updated vendor blobs you can use this one instead of the obsolete that Myself5 uses in his manifest:

The one for CarbonRom have working LTE and WiFi.

I have a G8142 running the Carbon rom ATM. I'll help you out and run your work on my phone

I just need a working local manifest to build Lineage 15.1 for this model and working LTE. I'll check if I can borrow a friends computer and use my Linux distro as a VM. WiFi isn't the highest priority, but it's great if it could work as well.

bro problem is the tree you shared have lot of problems you have to manually pick all commits from carbon rom to make it stable it is not simple mainfest

then i think you should use carbon tree and one more think thanks to modpunk we can use stock camera on custom rom

Sorry for nagging, but if MultiRom manager can boot CarbonRom or your Lineage build that would be great.

Aha. Multirom Manager is a bootloader similar to GRUB that lets you have 2 ROM's or more installed side by side and at startup you get to choose which ROM you want to boot.
It's good for testing purposes and you still get to use a stable ROM at the same time.

first download your dezire stock rom from xperia fix then flash twrp recovery then format data then flash los

thank you a lot.i went here at first and it took me 5-10 minutes to also bump into the thread you've just posted.
so, there should be a good chance of getting the stock camera app to work on XZ Premium as well.
