Video recording in 24-bit (Hi-Fi) - No sound - LG V20 Questions & Answers

Hey guys!
I decided to tick the Hi-Fi in video recording options and now I'm having trouble with the audio. On the computer, VLC is the only player that I found that plays the video with sound. All the other players, only plays video. I want to edit the footage and neither Vegas nor Avidemux supports the sound. Is it a codec I am missing? I tried K-Lite and no luck there.
Thanks for the help!

If VLC plays the vid with sound i would assume a codec issue... but at the same time I would assume Vegas would have all the needed codecs :/

Has anyone figured out which codec is required yet? The audio sounds amazing with the Hi-Fi ticked but it is pointless if I can't find a video editor that can read it.

Video / Audio Encode settings ?

What video/audio settings should be used to encode movies/videos for the Vibrant, before I get mine tomorrow I want to encode a few with avidemux
Once someone provides the settings i'll update the OP for future reference
I haven't used any compression settings yet. lol. I downloaded a 720p mkv and it played PERFECTLY in RockPlayer and Video Player. Only issue was no way to change subs or secondary audio (in mkv's).
thats funny cause one some of the mkvs i've loaded i only get sound and a black screen.. is there codecs for android i don't know about? still a n00b >_<
Both Rock Player and Video player have the mkv container and h.264 codecs built in, shouldn't be a problem. Does the file give you issues in a desktop player? Specifically, VLC?
Oh yeah, Video Player will give you 5.1 sound also!!!!
so... will I be able to download xvid movies/videos that are non-hd and play them? lol that would be siiiick

Loss of sound in movies

Odd thing, I have tried many rips of movies and most play fine, mp4 mp3 192 sound 4800khz, but some listed as ac3 sound dont play....picture is fine but no sound and yet I though sgs was ok with ac3, now i can convert the film and change the sound but that takes ages.....so is there an easy way to recode just the sound or is there a problem with phone?
have you tried a different video player?
yes tried a few, rock player will play the video bably picture breaks up but the odd thing is it is able to play the sound but it is also bad and breaking up but it tries to,
I wonder if i am missing a codec? and if so how to get it.
My default video player plays xvids, divx, h.264 AC3 encoded just fine. Infact using the 5.1 option does wonders to headphone surround sound especially using quality headphones.. Are you talking of .ac3 audio files only?
Its not all but last one was a rip of HellBoy 2, stunning picture and the audio codec is listed as mp4a 48000hz, picture is fine but just no sound.
Another was a rip of Armageddon, again nice picture but mp4a and gives no sound.
There has been others but I forget what codec they were, thought some were ac3...might be wrong, anyway tried these movies and only player that even tried to play the sound is rockplayer, but the sound is broken and so is the picture.
If it is the case mp4a is not playable then I would like to recode the film but just the sound, I want to leave picture as it is but change the sound to mp3, anyone know a program for this ?
cheers

Hello,
Has anyone been able to play 720p movies with dts audio fine on there iconia?
I've tried several media players. DicePlayer plays the sound fine but video lags. Moboplayer & rockplayer struggle both with video & audio
Try MX video player using s/w fast mode.

Bitstreaming with MX Player (or other)

I'm not sure if this is the right forum to post this in, or instead the MX Player forums, but I keep reading persistent claims that people are successfully bitstreaming lossless (TrueHD and DTS-HD-MA) audio to their AVR via the MX Player app on NVidia Shield.
My library consists of uncompressed Blu Ray rips made using MakeMKV. I take the lossless audio codec whenever available.
For the life of me, I can't seem to get proper playback. If I enable HW+, video plays with no audio. If I disable HW+ in favor of "HW", I get neither audio or video.
I haven't downloaded or installed any extra codecs specifically for MX Player yet... currently, within settings, it says I have "Use ARMv7 type custom codec".
Anybody having success with this care to expound on what settings are making this work?
