my galaxy s4 gt-i9515 is stuck on boot loop. This is despite numerous efforts of flashing stock lollipop 5.0 rom into it and when it eventually boots up the phone heats up and the screen turns bright white. I've even checked on the power key and its okay.
Potential hardware issue. Meaning, get a new phone or an S4 with a broken screen and replace the motherboard.
Can you access download mode or recovery?
Clearing Cache
Remove the battery then place it in and press the volume up home and power button at the same time hope it helps:

Hello friends. I have a problem with my Samsung i9500 Galaxy S4. The thing is I can not use the button of power on or turn to lock the screen because the phone is turned off or rebooted and the Samsung logo appears, then it looks like is about to initialize but then reappears Samsung logo. The only way I can turn on the phone is by pressing the buttons of recovery mode and after about 3 attempts, the phone starts normally. I have the stock Rom 4.3 Jelly Bean. On the other hand this started since I took out the SD memory. I have reinstalled the ROM again and continued doing the same. No it may be. I think it is a problem in the boot but I can not solve it. I can not lock the screen with the power button because the phone turns off. I hope you can help me. regards

Galaxy S4 Won't Boot
I've been unable to boot my phone past the "Samsung Galaxy S4" screen for the past few days. When I was using it a few days ago, it suddenly froze and then it got stuck on the logo-screen ever since. The phone was not rooted or modified in any way.The phone's warranty expired a few months ago, so I can't ship it to Samsung without paying ~$100. I suspect that the phone is soft-bricked, but I've been unable to un-brick it.
It's a Fido Galaxy S4 SGH-I337M.
Things that I've tried:
Flick, wiggle, and hit the power button to potentially dislodge a stuck power button
Flashing the stock firmware (I tried this several times)
Selecting "Firmware update and initialization" on Kies
I attempted to boot into recovery mode to clear the cache, but, I'm unable to boot into recovery mode. (I pressed the home, volume-up, and the power button until the blue screen on the upper-left corner appeared. Then I let go of the power button)
Flash TWRP in-hopes of being able to access recovery(It was a longshot).
Thank you for your help!

If it froze without you doing anything and you cannot boot it anymore then I am afraid you have hardware damage.

Is there anything that I can try to revive my phone?
Hello!
This morning my s4 decided to randomly power off on me whilst I was using it, and now it wont power back on without looping on the bootscreen where the white text "Samsung Galaxy S4" appears. I attempted to boot into recovery, but I just get the blue text "recovery booting" in the corner with no action at all even after 10 minutes. Download mode works, but even after reflashing the stock firmware i'm getting the same issue. The battery appears to be functional as normal, charging up and displaying charge in my old s4. Please respond with any ways I can potentially get it back up and running (even if I lose all data) ASAP.
Thanks!
Try nand erase all + stock rom, it might work, otherwise try an other battery.
Dealing with a Samsung Galaxy S4 that will not get past the Samsung "Custom" bootscreen.
The ROM was stock Android KitKat. It was rooted, and Safestrap recovery was installed. The Xposed Framework was also installed. The device was working fine.
Then the power button broke, so installed Power Button to Volume Button and Shutdown & Reboot.
Then used Shutdown & Reboot to reboot. The phone rebooted to the Samsung "Custom" bootscreen, but did not progress beyond that.
Have not been able to get past the Samsung "Custom" (black) bootscreen since then. :crying:
Here's what's been done:
Tried to enter Safe Mode
Pulled the SIM card out
Pulled the battery out
Put the battery back in
Pressed (and held) the volume-down button while putting the battery in
Nothing has helped or been successful.
There was no microSD card in the device, so all the data is on it's internal storage.
At the least, I would like to get all the data off.
At best, I'd like to get the phone working again.
TIA. :highfive:
Is this an AT&T sgh-i337 phone?
Stuck at the boot logo normally means you have soft bricked it. The only way to recover is to find the correct factory firmware for you device and flash it via Odin. Make sure it the correct firmware! Flashing the wrong one is a problem.
Hello
I have a rooted Galaxy A5 with stock Lollipop 5.0.2 installed. Lately I've been trying to figure out how to install the Xposed framework and Xprivacy. So I was reading something about having the bootloader unlocked before doing a TWRP recovery and I couldn't find a way to see if my phone has it unlocked or not.
I was then thinking that maybe I can find some info about this if I enter recovery mode (been a long time since I rooted and can't remeber much) and so I turned my phone off and held down volume up, home button and power button.
Samsung logo shows up and everything seems fine at first. The screen then goes black with bright green pixels and lines slowly fading in and the samsung logo again as well, slightý visible behind this green mess that now covers the screen. It then slowly fades back to black with a few grey lines visible and nothing happens. I panic and and hold down the same buttons again and fortunately it rebooted like normal.
I have never had a problem with this phone or the stock firmware that I'm using (before root it was swedish/scandinavian, now uk I believe.)
What's going on and what to do? Can frozen apps affect any of this?
