Help me compile a kernel (or do it for me!) - Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi Everyone,
I posted this in the TMO forum but figured I'd post here also for more visibility.
I want to make the stock kernel for SM-N910T2 SEAndroid permissive as well as add DT2W (double-tap to wake). I've tried to follow guides / vids to no avail, so I'm hoping someone in the community can help me with this.
Firmware:*https://samsung-firmware.org/model/SM-N910T2/*
Source:*http://opensource.samsung.com/recept...chValue=N910T2
I'd eventually like to learn how to cook ROMs / develop for Android as well, so it would be fantastic if someone could point me in the right direction!
Thanks!!!!

[Q] ROM devs take a look :) Help with new ROM

I love all of your work but am wondering how to create a custom ROM? I have never created a ROM for any device before but am very technologically savvy and know a bit of java. Is their a ROM kitchen or a good set of instructions somewhere? Any help at all on how to start would be greatly appreciated
Thanks,
IRM

Paging all those who are interested in developing.

Well , I myself do not know how to develop anything at all. I really wanna produce something but whenever people give me links to guides and all these stuff, ill never understand what to do. So this thread is to help those who do not know how to make their own theme / mod or even ROM, help them to know where to start off. So ,please if you are keen to teach us , please do! We'll be very grateful. Thanks!
Well more developers the merrier!

Building the SM-G530W gprimelte from source - Needing Help

Hello all,
So I'm trying to get myself into building from source, and I have this wonderful gprimelte that I figured would be a great way to try and figure out how this works. My only other option is a SGS4 (jfltecan branded jfltexx) that doesn't have a working SIM card tray, so that throws that idea out.
So I went and found a guide in the basic Android Q&A forum on how to get the source, and I have done my repo sync for the basic source. My only problem now is getting the specifics for this device. I know not how to reproduce the correct bits to add the gprimelte specifics into my tree. @vince2678 has a repo that has all of his working sources, but I don't know how to integrate the specific sources I need for this device into my local_manifests.xml file.
Anyone willing to help a newbie learn ?
