Resurrection Remix for ZE520KL - Asus ZenFone 3 Questions & Answers

Hi Guys,
A friend of mine sent me this link. He said that he got this link from YouTube. I am not sure whether this ROM works for ZE520KL and I am not responsible for bricking your device.
EDIT:
Link Removed

The appropriate notices should be sent to @shakalaca, who is working at LineageOs, I do not think you should share his work without authorization.
One purpose, it is available now, is very smooth, but with the same bugs of the LineageOs and the battery consumption is bad!

I thought someone built this unofficial ROM.
P.S: One of my friend sent me this link. I am not stealing anyone's work.

Hey friend did not mean that you were robbing him of his work, but you should put the credits to him and not share things without authorization!

*I actually don't know @shakalaca built this ROM. (Read my 1st post again). My friend said that he got this link from Eu Sou Android, that's why I credited this guy.
Anyway, thanks @shakalaca because you developed this unofficial ROM. I hope the official build supports on our device soon.

I don't think this is going to happen, been waiting too long for links.
I think we are being trolled.
Interresting.
I'm impatient to test that one.
It will be the first one who is not based on the official ROMs.
Does it provide stillus support and Overclocking?
Forget KitKat....its about lollipop now
Come on, Kit Kat has been out for some time now for the NT7, and let move on to a Lollipop ROM instead.

He has a few rom posts of dubiously supported and incomplete roms that don't function. So it stands to reason that this rom would be of a similar quality, which is to say, useless.
Biggest thing about this tablet is the non standard features, such as DirectStylus support. It would be my guess the reason we don't have any CM roms at all whatsoever is due to the fact our stock rom is so close to stock android and the degree of difficulty in porting these tablet specific features to AOSP/CM etc exceeds the perceived benefits.
I'm calling shenanigans on this guy, given his previous requests for CM and his posting history. Nothing to see here folks, move along.

Man someone finally builds a CM Rom for the Note and you guys just piss and moan. No wonder nobody wants to build roms for this thing.
Here are the GApps you guys can use to flash with this rom to get everything up and running. Handed to you on a silver platter.
I still have no real hard to deal with issues with Stock but do look forward to the hopeful day when Nvidia finally does give us Lollipop. I figure they are taking their time since 5.0.0 was a buggy mess, and 5.0.2 came out so soon, they are waiting to release something good on the Shield Portable/Note 7 as the early hit to the Shield Tab was a bit buggy just like KK was when it hit Shield Portable off the bat.
Rom is stable!?
Thanks!

Okay, at first I didn't want tot post anything here because I didn't have the time to try the ROM yet. After seeing all the negativity here, I just want to give some support to the developer. No matter if the ROM turns out to be great or crap, he/she made it and gave it to us and I'm grateful for that.
Also, I love this part of the disclaimer:

Requesting Donations to buy a Redmi Note 2 so it's easier for me to test CM 13

Hi there, I'm the developer of the CM 12.1 ROM for the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 (here's my thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-2/orig-development/rom-redmi-note-2-t3272872), and I'm currently working on CM 13 for this phone. As of now I have a few successful builds but none of them are booting, and it really bothers me when I have to flash it on my own daily driver, causing me to lose all my data and after that I will have to reflash CM 12.1 and restore my backup again, so I think it might be better if you guys could help me to get another Redmi Note 2, which will be used purely for ROM development which will in turn also speed up the development process, and as usual I'm accepting donations via my PayPal account, [email protected], you could also click the donate button on the left hand side if you're using a desktop. I'm looking forward to raise about $90, that would be enough for me to get a second-hand Redmi Note 2, and I have received $10 so far. I hope you guys will like my idea and support it, thanks!
Will keep you guys updated on this thread.
With current kernel you'll never be able to boot it.

They have kernel source to do the necessary modifications, we don't.
this topic is not about whether kernel xx works or not, he will figure it out. its about supporting a man that worked for us and spent his free time giving us a decent alternative to MIUI, now he needs our help to continue.

look I'm a dev and rom porter and all the thing you're talking is preety big usually people do this thing for free FOR the COMMUNITY if you're a dev you make money on adds and app development not ROMs just my opinion though i don't have time to work on roms I'm very busy with life i can make a donation and others can too but there are things you should do before postings sth like this like
posting screenshot of proof you're working on it and request for donation for testing purposes after the rom at leasts BOOTS
I'd too be willing to donate !
and of course you now better than anyone that there is 0 % risk of permanently bricking the device as long as you have a nandroid backup and fastboot tools ready making sure you dont flash wrong partitions
just my opinion though !
great job regards

I do offer this for free, I'm not forcing anyone to donate and I'm indeed working hard to make it boot but sadly it hasn't. I can't work 24/7 on it as I also have my own life so I thought it would be best if I could just make things easier for me. And if you want a screenshot of the compiling process I can indeed provide you one since I'm not scamming anyone, or you could just check out my Github https://github.com/jianminglok.
And of course for the device bricking, not everyone has a PC ready every time and just in case anyone really gets his device bricked during testing, what can he/she do? I'm only looking for the most convenient way to develop for the device so I hope you could understand.

Actually someone released a Chinese build... I've used it. That ROM works rather well but Wi-Fi appeared to have some issues. I'll try to find the link and share here.
And also if someone can work on that build, I'll be extremely happy.
I think one of our developers is already working on it.
Patience is the key ( Although I know it's hard lol) we'll see Resurrection Remix Nougat soon

I didn't want to share the link since the developer didn't share it himself, probably our dev wants to refine it a bit more before sharing it.

BigBrains OS - I was not allowed to post inn development section

DISCONTINUED
Hi Kenzoers,
I have a great pleasure in introducing a new Android OS to the world which is based on Lineage OS Source code and I thank Lineage team very much for the device tree, kernel and ofcourse the total Source code of it. We are starting rolling out this ROM only for Redmi Note 3 (Kenzo) - The SnapDragon Version as of now and soon it'll reach other popular devices as well. This ROM is named as BigBrains OS as this rom is build by BigBrains (That's us - Prast and Me. Well i'm Uvneshkumar and Prasat is my friend). Is this yet another ROM which has the features of almost any other custom ROMs? The answer is both yes and no. This ROM is almost nearly the same as that of the Lineage OS, but it has something apart from that. Well what's that? Have you ever thought of modifying something in android which you almost don't like? Or add an extra feature which you'ld love to have? May be most of you would've done the both. But how many of you have tried to implement that? Again ofcourse, many of you might have tried that also, but most of you might've failed and stopped working. Or some of you may not have enough resources to build a ROM. So why am I saying all this to you? Well, BigBrains OS is the solution to that. Sounds cool right. How? We've decided to develop BigBrains OS with the base source of Lineage OS and the idea of BigBrains OS's users. We code what you say into BigBrains OS and that'll reflect in the next update. And ofcourse this only happens if there is a good support for any new features.
We've added our own app into this ROM - BigBrains Touch - through which you can update your rom, and give us suggestions or even have funny chat with us. You'll have to check for updates manually and you will not be notified for any new update. We'll resolve this in the next update.
So why we've started this ROM? Well, it's a proven fact that "Unity is Strength". We may have some ideas which you don't like and if we add that into our ROM, you'll simply change the ROM. Right? Yes. So instead, all our users unitedly give us ideas, and you'll enjoy that in your next version. Isn't that COOL? Yes. So what are you waiting for? Give this ROM a try and give us your suggestions in BigBrains Touch app, so that we could improve ourselves.
You can find the ROM in this link. https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=178249. So that's it guys. If you have any questions or doubts, feel free to message us here or mail us at [email protected] or [email protected]. We'll be eagerly waiting for your messages.
Stay tuned and help us get tuned.
Thank you all.
