So my S7 Edge is rooted and it's running on Android Nougat 7.0 and I want to downgrade it to Marshmallow because the Nougat has so many bugs and stuff and what's driving me crazy is because of the Samsung Nougat Keyboard and the fact that Xposed is still not released for Nougat. So the problem here is that I don't have my laptop right now to flash it in using ODIN but I have TWRP in my phone and I've always heard that you can flash roms using TWRP so can anyone help me in this? Pretty please?
and also if I flash in the stock firmware on TWRP will I lose TWRP and my root and data? and will the bootloader be locked?
Thanks in advance for anyone who is eager to help.

yes, there is, it use to be odin for mobile but was redesigned and renamed flashfire.
And yes, you can use TWRP to flash stock roms, they have to be in zip format for it to be read properly.
Unless you got an unlimited data plan how where you planning to transfer the rom to your sd card without a computer?

If you want to keep your data you can use odin mobile from chainfire without tick any wape options but remember to chose supersu and odin injection after flash.
I'm not sure if this will be without issues because the baseband its different.
Remember to make a backup before any steps!!!

Hi,
I have rooted and installed TWRP on my 910F Note4 as I was fed up waiting on the lollipop update rolling out. I am currently on 4.4.4 and have made a full backup using TWRP of the stock rom.
My intention was flashing the Cyanogen ROM and using that, but i now see on sammobile there is a stock 5.01 rom available. I have a few questions about this.
1. If I flash to Cyanogen can I still revert back to the stock rom 4.4.4 I have made a backup with? I read somewhere there might be problems as I was on KitKat then moved to lollipop(Cyanogen).
2. Can I flash the stock lollipop rom from within TWRP? Or do you have to do this via ODIN?
3. If I flash the Lollipop stock ROM with Odin I assume I will lose root and TWRP? So this would have to done again?
Guess I am asking what is the best way to proceed?
Thanks again
Paul

hi Paul,
1. i beleve to flash CM from kitkat you will need to install the lollipop bootloader first.
2. You have to flash the stock rom via Odin, you will keep all apps settings and files but you will lose root (you u can re root in 3 minutes)
Best thing you could do is flash the stock rom first with odin, see how that feels (IMO its good been using it for months now) and then root it and back it up and flash CM12 (you dont have to flash any boatloader at this point)

Ok tried to flash Stock O2 UK lollipop ROM via ODIN and got error message on screen. MD5 too big or something. Had to pull battery on phone. Had to then reflash TWRP. Got back into TWRP and tried to do a recovery of the backup I took but phone is stuck at Galaxy note 4 screen. It then shuts down and restarts and gets to the same screen again.
Do I try a different ROM? What can I do?
Thanks

I got it working by flashing the German non branded ROM... Got the error message again but then used a "All samsung recovery.tar" as stated on another post in here and it booted fine eventually... Now on Lollipop. Now time to flash with TWRP.... Again!!!
Please, i need help !
I need help, urgently !
My Note 4 SM-N910C does not work. I can enter the Recovery and the Download Mode. When attempting to install a Custom ROM gives me an error that says I have no data. In the internal memory I have 0mb.
I tried using odin, but I can not .. Salta error.
Someone who can make a backup of your phone (which is factory), leave me a link to download it? So I install the TWRP. Please.
They have another solution?
Thank you.:good:
Short story: I need a TouchWiz ROM that I can flash from TWRP that won't re-lock my bootloader or touch the TWRP partition. What's the best one to use?
Longer story: I have SM-G900V running CM 13 that is currently unable to get a GPS lock unless airplane mode is enabled. So far I've been told the only fix for this is (high level instructions):
Nandroid backup of CM 13
Flash TouchWiz ROM
Get GPS lock in TouchWiz ROM
Restore CM 13 nandroid backup
Some of the troubleshooting steps involve root, hence the need for a rooted ROM. Can anyone help?
Download a full stock tar for your device and open it with winrar. Give me a screenshot of all the files inside (aboot, system, etc...)

Extract system.img.ext4, boot.img, modem.bin, NON-HLOS.bin, into a new folder on your desktop. Then use 7-Zip to make it all into a tar archive. Then flash that using Odin.
This is the PB1 firmware - so you will be on TW 5.0 after flashing it. If you want to be on TW MM, I can help with that too if you like
Thanks so much. And yes, how do I go about doing that for TW MM?
I've since realized that that .tar isn't rooted. Can anyone point me to a rooted TW ROM I could do this with?

Actually I used the Lollipop build as the instructions were much simpler. But I'll try to wipe from recovery and reflashing TW again and see if that works. Failing that, probably going to have to clean install CM and then restore apps using TB update.zip in recovery. Why is everything in mobile so godd*mn hard ...
Got everything working again! Thanks so much for your help!!!
Hi,
I have been using RR for quite a while now, but lately I am having several troubles and I'd like to go back to the stock version, now that MM is available on S5 officially.
Is it possible? What is the best way to do so? Can I use TWRP to update the rom instead of odin?

Yes it's possible, just download your official stock rom from sammobile, then extract the tar.md5 file from the zip and flash via odin. 1 point I will say is do a factory reset via twrp first as it's a clean fresh start. Once phone is done reboot to recovery and do another factory reset vis stock recovery. Then reboot and enjoy. I personally went backwards and went back to kk

Because it's the official software and unmodified Samsung firmwares must be flash via odin. Plus it's the safest way to get stock back. If u can find a stock MM rom that's already been tweaked and made into a zip u can but modems and bootloader's (which come in official firmwares) can only be flashed via odin. It'll take around 30-50 mind to download on pc, are you wanting unbranded UK firmware? If so give me 20 mind to upload it

Do a backup first and store on ext sd card, no if card do backup and move to pc, then once flashed stock just re-root and flash twrp again and then u can restore your backup.

The n910p is the Sprint model. You can update your firmware with Odin, just use the the sprint tar files.
If your not gonna use Sprint service, your first gonna want to make sure the sim is unlocked. Either with a paid service or some other way. There are threads at the Sprint forum for this! Search and read through them. Like GT tools. I am not very knowledgeable in this matter so ask I one of them threads.
Once you make sure your unlocked, if your using gsm service, you can pretty much flash any snapdragon Rom! All you need is to flash a Sprint kernel and correct data fix with the Rom you want.
Also Before you do anything, make a complete backup with twrp! Also make another one once you get unlocked.
The Rom you decide to install will determine which firmware you need before hand.
Once or if your already sim unlocked, and you pick a Rom out that you'd like to install, I can help.
Are you unlocked? Do you know how to use Odin? How to flash and use twrp?
What firmware are you currently on?

This thread has most of the sprint note 4 stock firmware files and Odin: https://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4-sprint/general/stock-tar-odin-flashable-t3250864
Here are official USB drivers: http://org.downloadcenter.samsung.c...G_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones_v1.5.45.00.exe
Here is official Twrp 3.02: https://dl.twrp.me/trltespr/twrp-3.0.2-0-trltespr.img.tar.html This is installed from Odin!
Uninstall any Samsung software you have on pc for best results.
Download and install USB drivers to pc.
Download and unzip Odin to pc.
Download twrp.
1st thing I recommend is making a full backup.
So let's install twrp!
1. So put phone in download mode. (Turn off then hold power+vol dwn+home) then it'll prompt you to push vol up.
2. Open odin as admin.
3. Plug phone in pc USB. Odin should recognize phone.
4. In Odin. Click options, unclick auto reboot. Only 'F Reset time's should be checked. Now go back to log tab.
5. Click the AP button. And load the twrp file.
6. Click start. Do not touch pc or phone. Let it be. When the log states all threads completed. Wait 1 minute just to be safe. Unplug phone. Pull out battery. Put back in.
7. Boot into recovery. Press and hold (pwr+vol up+home)
You should now have twrp.
Goto backup and backup all partitions. If your not worried about your installed stuff, you don't need to backup 'data'.
Main thing is (boot,system,efs,modem)
Save this backup somewhere safe.

Part 2. Info!
If your just looking to install stock Rom. All you need is Odin and the stock tar file. But you select auto reboot in Odin.
You only deselect auto reboot when flashing twrp, because it won't stick.
Also once you upgrade to ok1 there is no downgrading.
If your looking to instal custom roms, you should read what firmware they recommend to have before hand. But most of them should work on most current firmware. It just depends.
In general this is what you'll do.
1. Odin the stock firmware you want. Let it boot.
2. Odin twrp.
3. Once you have twrp, flash any Rom you want for your phone.
4. Use a Sprint kernel (Ram) and data fix for international roms.
Edit. Once you upgrade your firmware, it's a good idea to make another backup of it. Especially the EFS.
