im asking for features from the ROM not the ROM
it would be nice to see "always on" from Moto X
Why not port the full rom instead of individual features?

It will burn through battery since the G doesn't have a dedicated low power chip. Even with its great battery life.

If we have CWM you can simply make a flashable zip of this "always listening" feature one of the best things on android. The possibilities.
This ROMs will be available for both single and dual SIM versions? I'm afraid that we can't get CyanogenMod for the dual sim version of Moto G.
Honestly, unless you have something to show for it, this sort of thread belongs in general discussion and not development.

I'd like a solid device build profile so that AOSP based roms can be compiled before even thinking about miscellaneous features.

It is going to be based off of the stock rom so hopefully yes it will be able to run on both
I'm not an expert but probably to optimize the always listening feature should be useful modifying the kernel? I mean..it only one of the four cores is used for this function while the other three sleeps, probably the battery drain would be less aggressive? Sorry it I said something wrong. Anyway this device can become GREAT with some developing so happy

It isn't aosp it is based off of stick which has already been posted. And I can ask for features I'm not toting a rom I'm asking for ideas that rule is inapplicable
I've been messing around for a few days trying to get AOKP on my Moto X. Finally got it working. Thought I would share the build. It has been a while since I ran AOKP and I'm surprised to say that it isn't what it use to be...Anyway, here is the build. I still have some sepolicy stuff to sort through so it has the kernel from yesterdays cm nightly.

Check under your Google acct after setting things up and make sure you didnt get a sync error. If you do just uncheck then recheck everything. It will sync correctly. I havent encountered any bugs yet.
And It should work on ALL variants
Of course you do flash this at your own risk...

I was gonna try to get Moto X up to date in AOKP but doesn't look like there is any interest in AOKP anymore. Very unfortunate. I remember when AOKP was most peoples favorite :-/
AOKP used to be my favorite, it was awesome - loved the customization features. But I realized it was a little heavy and switched to slim as my new fav. But since I've been on the moto x I haven't felt the need to flash any roms (not that there were any available ). stock has been great and Xposed + gravity box solves all my customization desires and more!
I appreciate the effort though, I might give it a shot if I get bored. Thanks!
PS What did you mean when you said it isn't what it used to be? better or worse?
Aokp used to be bad. Ass I loved it but after ICS/job they dropped a lot of customization and its not really worth it for me I guess. I'd rather flash a cm bases rom these days. But still awesome you got aokp going!!
Sent from my Moto X using Tapatalk
I have to agree....it isn't disinterest in aokp, for the moto x anyway......its just I'd say the majority stay stock and use gravity box. So they don't lose their moto features.
Awesome tho that you brought it to this phone.

Sorry for ot.
I miss lots about the moto x....my wife has it now and loves it!! I just missed the busy development community and the freedom of a nexus. I got bored with my perfect moto x. Lol
Now I've discovered multirom.
Never need to wipe my daily driver and can flash ROMs left and right.
As far as comparison.... They're very comparable phones. The moto x is definitely my recommendation to almost everyone....UNLESS they like to play with the phone like us xda'ers do.....nothing beats a nexus for that.

So..... no problems so far but no active display, touchless control or camera shake?
Why would they make a rom that doesn't take advantage of the phone's best features?

Same as non touch wiz based ROMs for Samsung.....no Samsung features. Etc.

There is not an AOSP based rom that has ANY of the stock Moto X features you refer to. Probably never will be. Active display can be downloaded from Play, I believe its called ACDisplay.
On another note. I've seen people discussing the speakerphone issue in other threads. FYI @dhacker29 fixed it and I have yet to see any other "bugs", in recent CM builds or this AOKP build.

Would it be possible to port Oxygen OS to the Nexus 6P?
This is a good question.
I was going to ask this also.
I am very interessted to see Oygen OS on 6P. The latest OS looks very good!
2 questions
#1- Why would you want to?
#2- What is missing in stock that OxygenOS has that you want that you can't get with Xposed or one of the 20+ custom ROMs?

Not really. "Smoothness" is usually a very controversial topic because of how human psychology works, and you can't compare especially since there are a lot of other factors involved like the SoC, RAM, background apps etc. If you're comparing OxygenOS on the OnePlus 3 to stock on the Nexus 6P then I'm afraid you can't really make an objective decision because the OnePlus 3 has a 1080p screen along with a more powerful SoC. As far as the OnePlus 2 goes, based on personal experience it's not as good as stock on the 6P, but again my experience isn't something anyone can bank on due to above factors.
i doubt it will get alot of support being Proprietary software. i recall it wont be open source in 2015, just the sources for hardware.
like htc sence and touchiz you best buy the phone if you want it.

The maintainer for clark (ie. Moto X Style/Pure) has left the Broken team, no one has replaced them so our device is being dropped from their development.
TBH, this was, and probably still is, the most stable custom ROM I ever tried on the MXPE... Too bad it's not one of their supported devices anymore.

Yea I wholeheartedly agree with this. Broken was by far the best ROM on MM. Once I was on it I was wondering what I was doing with my life. Everything that didn't work on every other ROM, worked. And then I saw it was no longer being supported and it was very disappointing. Luckily the Ground Zero Roms have saved this device for me. The N ROMS from them are really really good, with nearly no problems at all. I am on Validus, but reports from all three have been overall positive.

-RAMconsumption
-Charging stability
-System fluidity/stability "after long time"...

Ok, so Dirty Unicorns is a AOSP/CAF based rom has all the features that you would expect from a custom rom. Every thing works solid.
But the most distinguishing thing for me is this rom supports fully working OOS camera. Yes, fully working which i have never come across in any other roms so far.
You can download the final nougat build from here as the developer has already started work on Oreo. I'm sure you wont be disappointed. Many people dont know about the rom because they dont have a xda thread.
You already have it narrowed down to 2 ROMs. Just flash them both, try them for yourself, and see which you like better. In the hours you waited for responses to this thread, you could have already done this, and made the decision on your own.
It's pointless asking strangers (who have different preferences and usage patterns) which is better. In the end, what you think is "best" probably has little orno bearing on what others think/prefer.

Yea, I have already joined that group and even enjoying it
but I think I opened this thread with other intention and "I think" people are not getting my point
my point here is this
say when you compare stock android(AOSP) vs say MIUI (heavily modified AOSP with bloatwares)
so most of people know this and will choose AOSP for good performance
NOW, PF vs PA both are AOSP/CAF based roms, so what "you guys" think(or have experienced or I missed) what are the main points which anyone of these ROMs have over each other?
As a long standing paranoid user I can just recommend this ROM again and again. Everything works, you basically never encounter a bug and you are not swamped with useless features. The battery life hasn't let me down so far and paielred with the modded gcam you can get photos comparable to stock oxygenOS (maybe even better)
#StayParanoid
I would suggest AOSPA Extended over PA
If you want that everything(i mean everything) is working and no fc:s, go Paranoid. I get almost stocklike feeling using it. Customisations are minimal. My stream provider app is not working on custom roms and that is deal breaker for me most of the times.
OT. OOS is light and good stock. You almost dont want to flash custom roms. Novadays i prefere stable beyond customisations. (too old?)
PS. I dont have any experience of AOSPA Extended

I'd disagree as AOSPA Extended isn't what PA is all about. PA is all about refinement to the last little detail. If you have PA and tell someone that this is the stock system, nobody would think otherwise (except us people who know XDA)
That's the beauty of it. You don't have many features, but the ones you have make perfect sense and are implemented so seamlessly, that you could miss it for a stock Android feature.
