my phone updated yesterday and changed my badge colour to orange. no matter how many themes i try the badge colour remains orange. anyone having this problem?! i can't stand the hideous colour.
wow i'm having a chat conversation with a samsung representative and apparently the update deliberately took away badge colour customisation. has no one else noticed?!

Hi this has happend to me aswell. Iv tried everything. Cleaning touchwiz data changing to different launcher then back deleting all themes and reinstalling them. I fear a factory reset is the only way as not tried this yet.iv since started to use nova launcher as I hated the orage badges and u can edit them with nova.anyone know of a fix for this?

yes, finally someone with a similar problem. are you in canada? maybe it's a canadian thing. did it also happen after you updated? i also switched to nova launcher cause i can't stand the orange badges.

let me know if doing a factory reset works! hopefully it's not something that was intended. i don't know why they'd do that.
I'm quite happy with nova at the moment but I do prefer touchwiz I think il wait a few days first to see if anyone else finds this thread and finds a fix

Didn't fix the problem.looks like have to stick with nova not sure what's happend but in theme store it still looks like it's meant to work and have diff colours depending on theme

Same happened to me after upgrading to Nougat. I live in Mexico.
I've had contact with some of the developers of bought themes and told me that this annoying orange only happens in S7.
Apparently on S6 and S8 works fine.
Some of them had reported the issue to Samsung. Let´s hope...
how can you report the issues? i visited the samsung website and had a chat with a representative and they said it was intentional. but then you mentioned it's only happened on the s7 and it doesn't make sense that they would do that intentionally to the s7 and not the other galaxy phones.

I have reset the phone multiple times and still the same.
It happens when you start to scroll, with facebook it is actually weird, it doesn't happen all the time, and it overlaps only like the "gray box" where you have the Like, Comment and Share buttons.
Phone is Galaxy S5 SM-G900H.

Saw your thread, mine has never done that, no lagging nor freezing.
Mine actually works fine. In any of the applications I mentioned, if I scroll to the right (viber and facebook) and then go back, the top bar displays fine, the if you start to scroll down or up, it happens again.
I'll continue searching and testing....

Hi I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 900h. I experience the same problem but only on Facebook, I did the screen test (*#0*#0 or something like that) and in my opinion the hardware is working properly. Also If I turn my phone Facebook screen refresh in good shape, so I think It's a refresh problem.
Does anybody has the same issue? How to solve it?

Since yesterday tweeter is overlapping also, when scrolling up at the left corner it disappeared the tweeter icon and overlap the user tweet photo.
The screen works OK it's just a display refresh issue but instead of fix it there are some other apps with the same issue. Today Facebook and Tweeter shows the same problem.
Does Samsung knows about this? I Think they must deploy an operation system fix immediately.

I am very happy to tell you yesterday my phone receive an update and automatically installed Android 5.0. All screens problems have been disappeared in Facebook and Twitter.
Now my Galaxy S5 is working fine.

Has anyone found a fix for this other than getting an update? I'm on the Straight Talk version of S5, which doesn't have any updates to Lollipop. I'm stuck with this overlapping issue. Maybe if I restore a nandroid backup or something? They never made an ODIN flashable for my version either, so nandroid is the best I can do. Maybe an xposed module could fix it? Idk, just ideas. I realize this thread is from over a year ago, but the problem still exists for some of us who can't update :/

I have recently updated my s4 gt-i9505 to android lollipop 5.0.1. Now, i am, like many others experiencing a touchwiz home issue. It will just crash when trying to place or move an icon on the home screen.
Booting in safe mode, clearing the system cache and erasing touchwiz home's data don't fix the issue. So i think/hope it is related too our device's settings/ disabled apps/ installed apps.
Has anyone managed to get rid of this issue or could people experiencing the same issue post a list of their installed and disabled apps ? I have attached my app list to this post.

Working fine here other than a few wee niggles.
SPlanner stops occasionally and I have to reload the widget on the homescreen and on a couple of occasions I've not received a notification tone when I've had a text but it's still vibrated and still had the notification message but that's only happened 3 times in the last few weeks.
I've used Titanium to freeze quite a few apps, such as the Samsung bloat-ware and most of the Google play apps.
Overall I'm happy with lollipop.
Chrome redraw and keyboard redraw many times home screen back to stock wallpaper once in 2 days auto restart..

Thank you for the info, I "undisabled" all my apps and did a restart, but that did not fix it.
Are there any others trying to fix or managed to fix this issue ?

Whatever you do these bugs come after few days of restarting your phone.. Lollipop fix needed very fast samsung should be reported to release a very fast

Yeah, it is a really bad update, some people mention that a factory reset doesn't fix it, some say it does... I do still think the problem is samsung related and that they will have to fix it.
Today I called customer service people they saying the fix is coming soon but compete stable rom will take at least 2 months

Everyone facing different kind of bugs lag is with Lollipop animation and touchwiz gallery phone are normal.. Worst bug is homescreen redraw and turning back to stock wallpaper and many times keyboard goes and you think what you can do to type now

Guys, i got some great news ! I have found the fix, turn off motion under motions and gestures in settings. No restart is required !

Not quite everything. The last update left my apps still installed, but cleared all application data including accounts, home screen, etc. I would assume this would do the same. I may install later today and do a diff of the packages to see if there is anything new.
Titanium backup works pretty well to backup and restore the data after the upgrade.
Oh wow! Exciting stuff. I'll try this tomorrow maybe.
I really wish they would put SOME kind of changelog

Would be nice if you could let us know if you found something useful !! they have no changelog and it sucks not knowing what they fixed.
Just tried the update. Seemed to work okay, except when it booted for some reason it wouldn't load the stock Joying launcher. I had to use touch wiz to open Nova Launcher to navigate. Not sure what happened I may try to reinstall the firmware.

Do you see any obvious updates? Some bugs which we saw in last firmware like apps not resuming after standby etc?

That has been solved already by gustden's modifications.
What I'm interested in is have they fixed the too bright minimum brightness of the screen? Apart from that the unit is pretty close to perfect already.

Actually that apk is not working for me outside default launcher U01 :crying: I don't know how it is working for you..
Reinstalled Feb.22 firmware but the stock Joying Home launcher is not working. It seems it didn't install properly or something. But I can revert into Nova Launcher that I had previously installed. Seems CarMediaSettings button has changed names to Car Settings, however I cant turn off the annoying Key Button Tone as the option has disappeared. It's late here so will test more tommorow, but I got the device rooted again. I will try the display brightness shortly. Curious to see if anyone else has problems like this as well.

Working perfectly for me with Apex launcher which was selected as default launcher in car media settings.
My car: Skoda Superb 2013.
My update went pretty bad.
After installation I couldn't get to desktop at all - only blank blue screen (wallpaper) and nothing else. I could get to settings from that floating button, and did full reset and then it worked. It started with the new launcher, maybe I will give it a go.
Haven't got the time to install all the apps etc. again.
Some cosmetic changes, but nothing obvious. Still can't get my parking sensor detections to the screen.
My GPS signal got dropped all the time with last software, hope that is fixed. They already sent me new GPS antenna, waiting it to arrive.
I'm actually really pissed to the unit right now. If my issues with radars and GPS are not fixed with this update and new antenna, I'm sending unit back and go for stock RNS-510.

Try removing Nova completely, and clearing data on the joying launchers. I never was able to have Nova and the stock both installed together. I always had to remove nova completely to use the stock launcher. And vice versa.
my update also went weird. Just went to a wallpaper with nothing except that dumb dot. I could use the dot to get to apps, and go to Car Settings.
however when I go to the 3368 screen, the password to change the UI seems to have changed
So would you say it's best to wait installing this? Seems to be a problematic update...
Thanks for the tip about Backup & Reset to restore stock functionality. 3368 still seems to work for me on some menues but others not. Will do further tests today to see if my GPS is better and anything else worth noting
seems the stock launcher has issues. when i did the upgrade the launcher wouldnt launch no matter what i did. factory reset the unit and the launcher started working, did some customizing of the widgets and then it wouldnt work anymore. i was able to set nova as my default launcher through settings but not through car settings.

factory reset fixed my bugs, seems to be working as normal now, but I am using the default UI3 launcher
I just did the update. Been stuck on the "ANDROID" logo for about 30 mins now. So not sure if i should let it go or try and reboot it via reset button.
Hi guys,
My phone's content on the homescreen has shifted down a little, causing a large gap between the statusbar and the clock/weather widget. I really don't like it this way and I would like to revert it back to normal, but I don't know how. I've rebooted the device multiple times and even deleted Touchwiz' data and cache.
Does somebody know how to fix this?

Yes, I think you're right. It happened after I updated my phone, I think it was this update: G935FXXU1DQIC (and G930FXXU1DQIC for the normal S7)
I really hope it'll get fixed soon, I can't stand my phone anymore...
Why not just use a different launcher if you hate it so much?

My wallpaper is changing on it's own every hour or 2...at least. It changes to these wallpapers, and the wallpaper is SORT OF "black and white'ish" I have rebooted the phone. I have looked into the accessibility settings and saw nothing and in the display settings and saw nothing. I saw that it says something about possibly having set the wallpapers from the selection "on OnePlus" Well, I didn't. The box is unchcecked.
In addition, the wallpapers that mine are getting changed to are all getting changed to that material typpe. Not only that, but they are being changed in a way that makes them look sort of black and white, while staying color.
Any help short of a factory reset would be appreciated.

I'm going to look into it in a little while or when I get up in the morning and I will get back on here and let you know thank you again. you give me too much credit anyway I don't even know the best way to go ahead and check that. Possibly just go ahead and take any apps off my phone that have to do with wallpapers and start from there putting one back on at a time?

But yes definitely start with wallpaper apps, those can definitely be the problem. Also are you using a different launcher? I know Microsoft launcher has a feature where it changes the wallpaper every so often. Let me know and I'll be happy to help as much as I can!
I normally use Nova but not at the time. As far as the wallpaper apps go I realized a better way to go would be for me to open up each one of them and look at the settings so I could find out that way. and also I picked out the names of the titles that had material in it as in material walls since the images were of that type. Thanks again. (how is the Microsoft launcher? is it just basically a launcher that looks like Windows phone?)
These look like wallpapers by the Tapet app, there is an option in there to change the wallpaper every so many minutes, I would check to see if you have that installed.
