Hey guys,
A year later and I'm still paranoid to root my Note 3 because apparently it's one of the versions that are difficult to root. Here are the specs:
Samsung Note 3
Running Lollipop 5.0
Model number: SM-N900
Build Number: LRX21V.N900XXUEBOL2
Baseband Version: N900XXUEBOC1
Kernel version: 3.4.39-5041972
SE for Android Status: Enforcing
Can anyone please offer me some guidance on how to successfully root it without bricking...?
Thanks in advance!!
Why do you want to ROOT .??
To try a custom ROM, and also to get things like softkeys etc.
Check your custom rom of choice has it got root built in .

I'm not even sure which ROM to look for that my version of Note 3 can take. I've always installed custom ROMS on my previous phones, not sure why this one is so confusing
I feel like a ripe noob at the moment...
EXYNOS roms only for N900.

Thanks so much. So if I want to then install one of those, I would then use CF autoroot to root and then install the rom? And if so, which file would I use with CF autoroot? I'm having a look at https://autoroot.chainfire.eu and none of the build numbers match mine?
Will really appreciate any help...

The device is almost 4 years old. Just don't tell me there is no info on the web. What you are asking here is just spoon feeding !
Believe me, I've searched for hours. There is a lot of info for the Note 3 in general, but I can't find ANYTHING for my particular build of Note 3
Flash custom recovery.
Then find and flash supersu.zip for root

1. The best is wait till your country receive the udpate. But you can try Poland firmware if your device isn't branded or unlocked.
2. You can use CF-AUTO-Root for root your device.
3. Xposed Framework for android 5.0 still in development. SU works correctly.
4. You can install this APP for know your CSC (country code).

Hi,
I also flashed the official 5.0 Rom from Poland, it works perfectly. I came from official 4.4.2 rom unrootet, brand free, germany.
Now my question is:
How can I root the 5.0 rom from poland?
Important for me is, that mhl out is still working afterwards.
Does triggering knox create any other problems (excl. warrenty)?
Thank you for your help!

Dude! Stop being lazy, we're not here to spoonfeed you. This isn't called forum.xda-spoonfeeders.com, a simple Google search would have given you the result you were looking for. Helping other users when they have a problem = yes. Doing other users dirty work when it comes to performing a simple search on Google = No.
And besides, sb game hacker is warez and is strictly prohibited here. If you want more lives - buy them, if you want more money - buy it, if you want all levels unlocked - play the game properly....stop cheating! Thread reported to moderator!

Exactly that. A long time ago i wanted to ask him if Google is banned in his country ?
99.5% of his questions could be resolved by a simple search. But obviously spoon feeding is what he prefers. And i can't belive how many people do spoon feed him.

I am against spoon-feeding as well but a simple Google search as you guys lately use to mention quite a lot is not really that simple, I mean typing the keywords and hitting the enter button couldn't be more simple but the search results are not, and that's the relevancy of this post.
Also a lot of people reply anyway, yet they don't care to actually help a member. You guys do realise that XDA isn't really a place of all Einsteins right (no place is)? And you didn't grow up in an hour either? Getting the points?

Bro as i said you don't need that and it doesn't matter what is your firmware build number or what is your baseband number. All you need is a specific file for your mobile like CF root for s3 or S3 neo or s4 etc ok and if any thing matters is that your mobile variant number and yours GT-I9301I.

Please read most carefully. I wrote that is the same way for all stock lolipop rom for international N9005.
This method will trip your knox counter.
Aren't there any other solutions to keep the counter to 0?

Hi there,
I updated my SN-9500 (International) successfully from Firmware 4.3 to 5.0 (using N9005XXUGBOA1_HOME.tar. But I am not able to ROOT it again. Nothing works: neither KINGO ROOT, neither the way kouros17 mentioned (refering to Chainfire). I trief each and everything.
Every attempt leads to the message: SECURE CHECK FAIL: recovery and the downloading interrupts always after 4mm. Does anyone of you has another idea to get the ROOT work? All the normal and common ways do not work. Thanks in advance for helping me out ... Robert
When I upgraded to lollipop I followed the instruction found here on XDA but I didn't remember the exact thread .... You have to flash the old kernel of KitKat on lollipop, use towel root, then flash the lollipop's kernel..

We need to play with the kernel. If it was a matter of customization, applying the root patches first would have worked. As of now that hasn't worked either.

If you get a captcha, use the google translate app on your note 4 and copy down the characters as best you can using your S-Pen...
Once you're in, there is an option to disable captcha completely for your account...
I've been using Ultimate Kernel v51 rooted on stock official 5.1.1 COH4.
You just have to install the kernel via recovery (I use TWRP), and when you tap reboot system, TWRP recovery says "SU binary not detected, install?", tap "yes"... Once booted open SuperSU and update the SU Binary.
I've attached v51, for future releases go to 4PDA... (I wont keep this thread or post updated, sorry.)

there are 2 possibilities about flashing g900f firmware on your g900v:
1) it will refuse to flash
2) you will hardbrick
as I said earlier, please flash this to check whether your bootloader is locked or unlocked.

The G900F has an unlocked bootloader - the G900V does not. If it does flash, you can root if you want. If it doesn't flash - all your stuff will still be there.
By the way - there is no such thing as too many questions

This is VERY weird. Flashing PB1 should get rid of it... any bad side effects?

I meant that should get rid of the G900F files.
If there are any adverse effects, flash PB1 using odin. Do you know how to (if you want to?)

Yes I can, but the thing is that I want to keep it, coz it give me lte signals, on the other hand Verizon doesnt give me lte. Thts what happened on my note 3 Verizon, thts why I changed my device which I loved so much.
But here I m plus one coz I can unlock the bootloader and install any rom but not sure those rom supports the bandwith of my lte sim.
Any advice ? Also uploading the network mode selection.

Now I understand the situation.
I would NOT attempt to unlock the bootloader, just use FlashFire, unless you want AOSP. Try flashing a G900F rom on yours. I don't see why it would not work
