Hi all!
I've bought a new S4 (i9505) and fortunately I don't have knox on my device...
Now I'd like to install the last 4.3 GE and may be the CM 10.2 when in stable state.
My first question is: if I flash the recovery (CWM or ... ?) and then the GE and/or CM ROM the knox will not installed right? I'll only need Triangleaway app to reset counter?
Second: if I get trouble and I'll need to flash back to stock for warrenty, can I flash the actual stock ROM via kies and bypass the know problems?
Third: I saaw that there's not only one post for the GE ROM... where can I find the last standard GE release flashable via recovery?
Thanks!
You should read the forums more before you start doing anything. It will save you lots of trouble in the future. I know its a lot of information in this forum, but read read read before you start doing things to your expensive phone.
If you stay away from knox enabled stock roms, you will be fine. That is with stock roms that also flash bootloaders. My advice would be to stay away from flashing stock roms in general and look for a custom rom that suits your needs.
Don't use kies, but just use Odin if you want to get back to stock.

Thanks! I've really appreciate your help!
I've read a lot of posts but is not simple to understand all and/or read all the messages, so apollogise if me and someane else write down a new post hoping someone point us to right thread.
Well... I've understood that ODIN is my friend and I'm downloading from sammobile my current stock ROM without knox so I'll be able to reflash stock ROM if necessary keeping my S4 far from knox.
Now.... someone con point me to the last 4.3 GE ROM because I still can't understand wich is the cleanest (similar to the real GE) and stable ROM to flash...
Thanks guys!
Hello all, flashed v28 of Omega rom (4.4.2) way back to my t-mobile galaxy s4 (sgh-m919? Device model shows i9505 but device name is still sgh-m919 and I bought it from t-mobile). In the past I've done this a few times, usually from stock phones, but it has been a while since I've done this and I've never made a major upgrade to a newer ROM. Im a bit hesitant to do this on my own without first posting as I hardly remember what I flashed to my S4 the first time around other than the Omega ROM, and I haven't been keeping up with S4 development at all since then, so I'm unsure of whether or not I can simply wipe and install v41 of Omega (current ROM has started being wonky, various things becoming unstable, cannot connect to camera, etc). I was reading the thread and there was enough talk of kernels, custom boot loaders, and other things that I just felt confused and decided to seek the wisdom of the forum before proceeding. But, I am correct in assuming that this ROM which carries i9505 in the title thread can be flashed to my device yes? If I recall correctly that is what I did before.
If anyone can advise me, caution me, or otherwise inform me, that would be very, very helpful,
Thanks.
First thing which you need to do is move this post to the general section

Ah, you're right. Had the wrong browser window open. If a moderator kindly would?
I already reported the thread, so the mods will see it, evaluate things, then move the thread to its proper location. Moderators are unlikely to see requests to move the thread nor comments from others that the thread needs to be moved. Report the post rather than wasting time posting about it.
Thanks for the explanation and thanks to the mods for the move, its obvious I don't post on this forum much.
Back to the topic at hand, anyone care to comment? Anything I need to do?
Specific help for your T-mobile device can be found at http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4-tmobile as this is the international S4 forum. In general, you should be able to use any ROM from this forum, provided it does not flash a bootloader or modem. Most don't. The only wrinkle I can think of is that if a ROM uses a custom kernel, your device may reject that kernel. Thus you should look at the link I provided and see if there is a custom kernel for your S4 that you can flash after flashing the ROM.
Needless to say, make sure you do a factory reset in recovery to wipe out any lingering problems Omega ROM may have caused.
I may have flashed a modem previously when I originally flashed Omega ROM. If so, will this cause a problem? I'll take a look at the other forum, thanks.
Hello,
I have read trough many threads about returning to stock FW and there may be issues, that's why I'm starting this thread.
I have installed CM13 nightly on device, and I'd like to return to stock rom.
CM13 is Android 6, I have Baltic version so it is only 5.5.1 stock, at the moment, didn't find any 6 version. But don't know how important is this version, maybe I can safely install other EU version.
To be more specific actually I don't care about knox counter and even rom, only thing I really need is fully functional Samsung Kids Mode with all the apps included. As I have read through many threads it is pain in the ... or even close to impossible, to install it on CM13, so logical way could be downgrade back to stock.
I'd be happy to read any suggestion, some link to step by step procedure or whatever info!
Thanks! Cheers!
Wipe everything from recovery, then put the phone in download mode, and flash a stock ROM from sammobile .com with ODIN

Hey guys ..
I need a real help here.. since I'd neither rooted a phone nor installed a custom ROM before.. Its also my first thread here in xda
and I'm now about to do so with a used "Note 3 N9005" which I've bought recently.. now I want to install the "Phronseis latest Note 5 Marshmallow ROM port"
knowing that this device condition now is "Official and not rooted" with the latest official Lollipop 5.0 from Samsung via OTA update.. and the Knox is tripped showing "0x1 (4)" in the bootloader..
My problem now is that when I've read the step by step guide of the installation process I found myself lost because of some terms that I have no idea about which made me afraid of messing the things up or bricking the phone :crying:.. for example they talked about the "kernel" and I don't know if I could just ignore this part and go through the steps resulting in installing that ROM with the stock kernel??
and all that brings other questions to my mind :
1-what exactly should I do to get this phone from this official state to the desired one?
2-what about the battery life and screen on time? will it be affected by that ROM or the kernel that going to be used with it??
3-will I be able to go back to official state anytime later by flashing the official Kitkat ROM with Odin for example?
4-will this thing change my IMEI or CSC and if it does will it be irreversible?
Any help is appreciated but please there is no room to give "opinions".. because in my condition I need "facts" :good:..
Thank you in advance
A rom has instructions start by reading them .
You can revert to stock by flashing via Odin.
Facts there are a number of faqs and stickies.
Opinion unless you understand the basics flash nothing.

Hi guys
I recently moved to the note 4 910F from another device.
As I have always favored custom roms ( regardless if I was using a samsung or LG or another brand device ).
The problem I am facing now is that the xda Note4 forum seems to be incredibly messed up. There are literally tens of threads with useless information and whole new threads just for one download link or something.
If someone new like me comes to the Note 4 forum he will not know where to start. The previoux device I used had a beautifully organized XDA section.
Anyway. What I did until now was to flash :
1. flashed cf-root over the stock firmware and verified that it worked
2. installed busybox
3. tried to install TWRP as I have always used it . But , Their page said to make sure I have the correct bootloader installed.
So, I got back to the rom page that I wanted to use and the dev had links there for the correct bootloader and modem. Downloaded and flashed them with odin. Now my device was restarting every 1 minute or so and I no longer had any IMEI and baseband version was unknown
I fixed it by flasks the stock firmware with odin
Can you guys help me out with some correct information on how to be able to flash a custom rom ? I know how to root it but what bootloader do I need in order to install the custom recovery and flash a new rom ?
Thank you in advance.
