Downgrade to Marshmallow

Hello Friends, I just upgraded my Zenfone 3 ze520kl to Nougat, but i prefer Marshmallow i try from recovery mode to flash Marshmallow, it shows error and the installation aborted. Can any one help . Thanks.

What error does it show?

Error with some numbers follows by 'install aborted'. I unable remember the error numbers. I did three times all the time with same remark.Thanks.

I downgraded a few days ago, here's an overview of the steps.
WARNING, this requires a factory reset so you will lose the data on the phone, so make sure you have backups before you proceed. You do this at your own risk and I am not responsible for any damages.
I assume you have adb / drivers all configured and know to how use them.
1) download firmware file http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/ZenFone/ZE520KL/UL-ASUS_Z017D_1-WW-13.20.10.152-user.zip and save to SD card / insert card in phone.
2) download recovery and boot img files for Z017D_WW_13.20.10.152

- under the folder Z017D_WW_13.20.10.152
3) Go to fastboot mode (power + vol up)
- flash recovery.img (command: fastboot flash recovery recovery.img)
- flash boot.img (command: fastboot flash boot boot.img)
4) reboot to recovery (power + vol down)
5) install update form micro sd card.
set the file UL-ASUS_Z017D_1-WW-13.20.10.152-user.zip that you saved earlier
6) wipe cache
7) factory reset
If you don't do a factory reset and reboot, Android pretty much crashes on multiple processes on start up, it is unusable.

Same thing happened to me as well. I just went ahead to flash the RAW file (http://www.asus-zenfone.com/2016/12/asus-zenfone-3-raw-firmware-and-asus.html) and updated the software to the latest marshmallow update, followed by a factory reset.

If we Downgrade
Then we get update in future yes or no??

[SOLVED] [Loop] Your device is corrupt it cannot be trusted and will not boot

Hello,
I have an issue with my brand new G6.
It is in a loop "Your device is corrupt it cannot be trusted and will not boot" , no more recovery available.
What i did:
I unlocked the bootloader and flashed Magisk via TWRP the device displayed that the partition was corrupt and need to be erased.
After that the device was in a loop to twrp, whatever the wipe or ... no system boot.
I read that i had to format the data partition so i adapted a what i found here to my available partitions

the device is now in a constant loop.
Does someone can help me please ?
is there any way to recover it ? download mode ? how ?

Can you boot to TWRP?
Did you make a backup and have access to it? Especially the EFS partition? If you do, restore the EFS partition.
If you can boot to TWRP, try the following:
- wipe everything (the option where you have to type 'yes').
- download lineageOS and flash it. If this is working fine, install whatever ROM you want to install.

no access to twrp anymore , no backup , only access to download mode now
is there a way to flash back twrp or stock recovery from download mode ? boot into fastboot ?
(i know... i have no excuses , but made that so many times without issues ...)

Maybe you should go in download mode and flash stock Rom with LGUP.

LGUP gives me an error while trying to flash the rom error 0x2000 ... ... cefs::initialize()

Can you flash twrp through lgup or fastboot?

For those that could be in the same situation i finally succeed to flash with LGUP last version but without the 8894DLL
the error was probably coming from the dll.

It's probably a problem with the DLL, try to extract it from the kdz and input it in Lgup folder (I don't remember where and I'm not home, check the main thread for that) and after that retry flashing
EDIT : well you were faster than my phone glad it worked for you.

Another P10 Plus Bricked after Oreo.

ive been trying since friday to Downgrade from Oreo to Nougat, in the proces my phone got bricked.

I use the VKY-L29C432B185 firmware for rollback, adding it to the HWOTA8 folder in my sdcard, after flashing, the phone stays in error:
Error!
Func NO : 10 (boot image)
Error No : 2 (load failed)
if i tried to go to recovery via vol Up + power then got

After this, ive unzipped and unpacked the update.app from oreo, and install ramdisk.img, recovery_ramdisk.img and kernel.img and the error dissapears, after that i install again twrp and try. but no success.
I can access to Fastboot, and i can flash via fastboot twrp and stock recovery (via fastboot flash recovery_ramdisk imgfile.img),
Has anyone faced this problem as well?

Oh my god! i think that ive fixed the phone! here is what ive done so far:
First of all, i was stuck in Error mode:
Error!
Func NO : 10 (boot image)
Error No : 2 (load failed)
if i tried to go to recovery via vol Up + power then got
Func No : 11 ( recovery image)
Error No: 2 ( load failed)
In order to clean that up, you have to unpack an update.app from oreo, flash kernel.img and recovery_ramdisk.img
From this, you can access to the stock recovery, also you can flash twrp and boot from it again.
After completing this, here is the fun part:
1. Download Oreo Again VKY-L29C432B360 and rename the files (you know.)
2.Using HWOTA8, copy the files from VKY-L29C432B360 to HWOTA8 on a SDCard, with hwota8_update.zip and MHA_RECOVERY8_NoCheck.img and insert it to the phone
3. Install TWRP using the Replace_Recovery.bat
4. Boot from TWRP, and install zip hwota8_update.zip.
5. The phone will reboot and show the same error Func No : 11 ( recovery image) DONT PANIC.
6. Power off the phone, and quickly press the Vol - button and plug the usb cable to enter fastboot.
7. Flash the recovery found in HWOTA8 file from your pc: fastboot flash recovery_ramdisk MHA_RECOVERY8_NoCheck.img.
8. Power Off your device, and quickly boot to Recovery (the stock one, that we just flashed)
9. The install process (Started in TWRP) WILL CONTINUE!!!.
10. Your phone boots again in android Oreo B360 (but with locked bootloader in my case)
I hope it helps! i almost purshase the unbrick from FunkyHuawei... $50.00!

i tried TRWP , CWM recovery.img and both worked.
in TRWP only focused on the internal Storage and it is 0 MB , can not wipe or mount or do anythink , i want to change TRWP to see the SD CARD.
so with CWM i can use adb sideload to falsh zip file.
i try cm-13.0-20161219-NIGHTLY-serranoltexx.zip with adb : not work ,no system shown.
when i change the phone to download mode i flashed :

Hello , i think you wiped your system you have to install another one. Try Lineage Os

If it does not work try shutting down the phone, remove battery and hold power button for 30 seconds.

remember i can't control the internal storage because the phone is dead , i only have the files and partitions in the SD card(external Storage) .
i already tried Lineage Os . the CWM say
+ can't mount /cache/system , mount : failed .... and long message.
it show erreur then installation aborted.
all this because the partition is in /storage/sdcard1.
so how i should redirect the installation ?

i have tried it all the 11 steps and not work. internal storage is 0 MB
i'm using trwp 3.5.0_9.0
after i flashed the SD card with Win32DiskImager and with the debrick.img , everythink now is in the external storage, my problem is i can't access to it, or install zip file with trwp or cmw because i can't mount the partitions in trwp or cwm.
i only can use download mode to flash files by odin
i want to know if i can do it manuelly by termianl commends in trwp .
but how i can know the places of the unmounted partitions ?

A40 - after TWPR i stuck on download mode

I am looking for solution of my issue.
TLDR : I stucked into download mode i cannot shutdown the phone - i am in the loop . - SAmsung A40
Long story i tried recover accidentally erased photos from my wife phone . Around 30% i have been able to recover, but for further getting photos I have make deep scan which also required making a root.
