Hi,
I have the Sprint variant of the Galaxy Core Prime. My problem is that when I go to get onto Chrome, the default internet browser, or the Play Store it says that I don't have a working network connection. I know my modem is working fine because my laptop, Chromecast, and other Android devices can access the internet without issue. Here's what I've done so far to try and fix the problem:
1. Unplugged the modem and rebooted it after a few minutes
2. Wiped the cache partition
3. Performed a soft reset
4. Forgot the network and then reconnected
5. Performed a factory reset on the phone
But none of these have fixed my issue. I'm still running into the same thing. Not even factory resetting the phone made a difference. What else should I try?
Tried reflashing ROM via kies or Odin?

Yes I've flashed the stock Samsung ROM to my phone via Odin. Again, it didn't do anything
Try kies it wipes and reflashes stock. Odin just reflashes stock
I've used Kies to wipe and reflash stock firmware to my phone. I've got internet again

Heya,
I got one of those austrian t-mobile phones with a non-working 3-button recovery... Yes I know, it's dangerous. Anyway, flashing to JPC with KIES worked fine! I could even start up and everything seemed to run perfectly. But I read in the forums that one should ALWAYS do a factory reset after flashing, so I did that. I enabled USB debug mode and did adb reboot recovery (can't use adb if debug mode is not enabled), entered recovery, cleared both data and cache.
After rebooting, the phone does start up, but I get MASSIVE Force-closes everywhere: android.process.acore, the menu, the gallery, etc. - I can't even do anything other than swiping the lock screen. I can't get into any menu or enter any application because a FC will always hit me first.
I have removed my external SD and cleaned out everything on the internal SD using KIES. I can still connect via KIES thank god, but other than that the phone is pretty much unusable atm.
What should I do? Flash 2.1? If so, how? Is there any registry setting that I can set to make KIES think it's a JF2 firmware or something, and have it flash to the last official 2.1 firmware?
Is there anything else I can try?
I just tried downgrading to 2.1 using KIES, got it to flash JM2. However, the FC errors are still there, exact same behavior as with JPC
Clean all cache and do factory reset

Ugh, I've been flashing since the HTC Touch Elf but I'm finally stuck.
I was using Bobcat, but it wasn't keeping the 3g when the screen turned off, post v13. So I flashed Phoenix which had a troubleshoot for that - which I followed and it worked. Flash the new modem zip using Odin. Thing is, without realising I didn't allow it to finish. I booted up and 3g remained connected fine, so "obviously" it worked, though I never tried to call in or out last night.
I got a voice mail this morning and found I couldn't hear anything during a call - which took forever to connect. Figuring a slow rom, I downloaded and flashed Foxhound - still no calls. So I try the modems again, letting it sit for a few extra minutes until Odor says Pass. But it still doesn't work... It's also quite slow, as Phoenix was.
Any help?
Flash the stock rom again via odin.
Get the stock rom from sammobile

Not what I'd like to do, but I'll give it a try. Downloading now.
I've done it and it still doesn't work. And the camera also doesn't work... Although the camera thing only started after I flashed the I9505XXUFNC9_GSM_LTE_Modems. Not sure that would be the reason for it to work or not, but that's what happened.
I've tried the above modems and I9505XXUFNB9_GSM_LTE_Modems, flashing other firmware in recovery and reflashing the original firmware using Odin.
Have I completely naffed my phone?
Oh, and also the wifi doesn't work since returning it to EE's latest firmware...
Nobody have any ideas?
I had a similair problem. I assume you are still on the old bootloader?
This is what I did:
1. Full wipe in cwm
2. Advanced wipe > wipe /system (this will wipe everything, so it also wipes your sd card).
3. Flash the phoenix rom
4. Flash the modem (I use MJ5)
5. Make sure the modem actually flashed. Check it in settings > general > phone information.
That did the trick for me. Make sure you have proper backups and also a good backup of your efs.
As I didn't have Wifi I had to install Clockworkmod Recovery via Odin. So I wiped everything, but the option was to wipe Cache, wipe System and wipe data. There was also wipe data and data/ (SD card), but I didn't do that one as I don't think the problem was down to the memory card. I flashed Foxhound, as that's what was on my memory card already, put the XXUFNC9 modem on using Odin and booted up. It now connects to 3G and wifi.
However, I tried to call my house and it took about 30 seconds to connect, then when my wife picked up neither of us could hear each other. So it still doesn't work...
When going into download mode, it doesn't say anything about Knox, so yes I'm on the old bootloader still. I don't have a backup of my efs, but I have a complete backup of everything from using Titanium Backup before I tried flashing away from Bobcat.
I noticed something very strange. When I go to About and Phone Information, the phone number shown isn't my number. The number that showed up on the house phone was my correct phone number. Is this related?

I had the same problem as you had. The procedure that I descriped fixed them for me. My guess is there are some files on your sd card that somehow interfere.
I will try doing the same again, but with a different formatted memory card.
Flashed the new bootloader, problem solved.
Hi,
I recently got the I337m s4 that was originally under Bell (canadian carrier). The first mistake, I think I made was immediately flashing it by using the chainfire autoroot method with odin. After I did, I installed the gummy rom. Ever since then, I cannot get the sound to work on my phone. I am not sure if it is a modem issue. I hope it is not a hardware issue. I already tried going to
From searching different threads on here, one user of the i9505 variant was able to get sound working by using odin to flash the stock rom. I linked the thread below:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2698073
Is this the proper way to start troubleshooting? I already tried getting back to stock by using odin 3.07 and the firmware below that did not work:
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/?page=1&model=SGH-I337M&pcode=0#firmware
Should I try flashing stock again but this time by doing the battery pull method (pulling the battery, before rebooting, after flashing is complete) that a lot people suggest? Did I select the correct firmware from sammobile?
P.S. When I did go back to stock, the boot screen samsung always played sound.
some ideas
try flashing the modems
reflash rom and check md5 before flashing
restore your nandroid
i think 3.09 is latest odin, but never used it
are you wiping all including system before flashing rom--i do it 3x
I have not tried flashing the modem but I read on xda that when you flash the whole stock firmware from sammobile, you end up re-flashing the modem since it is in the firmware. I will try flashing modem separately since I have not done that, yet.
When I flash, I always wipe dalvik cache, cache and do a factory reset before I start.
Btw, I did go flash the firmware from sammobile today and unrooted my phone. I still get no sound when playing music. The only sound I get is the samsung boot sound, when booting my phone.

Only other thing I can think of is to back up personal data and wipe your cards.
It seems like every time I do factory reset from the phone or flash using odin, the sound works for 5 minutes, when I play a track. Then I have to restart the phone and sometimes the sound comes back sometimes it doesnt. Otherwise, everything else working fine.
[FIXED]
Partly, because I had misplaced my OEM battery, I did not mention this before. The whole time my phone would randomly restart and not play sounds, I was using the anker 7800mah batter. After, I put the OEM stock battery back in, everything is working fine now! I am still on stock firmware but was able to root using chainfire with no issues.:good:
Alright, I have a Virgin Mobile S4. I rooted it a year ago with towelroot and installed clockwork mod on it to install cyanogenmod. I tried it, didn't like it so I restored my backup of the stock rom using CWM.
Fast forward to now. I tried to update my S4 OTA for Lollipop, but it would give me an error. I figured it was because I had changed the recovery software. So I went and downloaded the virgin mobile lollipop stock rom from sammobile. ( I337MVLUGOC4_I337MOYAGOC4_VMC ).
I tried to flash it onto my S4 using Odin 3.09. To no avail, it always failed at the system4.img.ext or something. From there I tried to make it work by using 3.10. Still failed. I googled for a fix or workaround and found something about reinstalling clockwork mod. I also tried reinstalling the PIT file for I337M. It was still not working. So I tried to flash back to my stock backup.
1st time I flashed, I kept having program that didn't want to start errors. I wiped dalvik, I wiped cache, I factory reset. Still bugged. So as a last resort I restored the backup again after having done all this. It worked! But...
Well, I'm at a lost now, I can't update using OTA, I can't update with Odin, I can't update with Kies. Now what? Is there a way to go back to the stock recovery and let the OTA or Kies update go through unhindered?
BTW, I had a problem when trying to use EFS professional to backup my EFS before the procedure. No matter which port I used ( front port or back motherboard port ), I could never make the backup, it said something about the phone currently being offline or something.
Anyway, I'd prefer to be able to switch back to the stock recovery and let the OTA or Kies do its thing. Any clues?
EDIT UPDATE: After fiddling some more around, I changed usb port again and reflashed using a more up to date version of Odin and I finally have Lollipop on my device, only problem is that I have no 3g or 4g connectivity even tho the IMEI, baseband and SMS as well as calls work just fine, what's wrong?
See first post edit^^

Did you check the APN settings? Make sure you have the right one for your carrier.
Apologies if I'm in the wrong section.
I updated my s4 to lollipop via Odin and it was successful.
Problem is, when I go on apps like YouTube or Google Now. It says can't establish a reliable connection and it keeps happening. On my brother's phone it's fine. Today I booted into recovery mode to check if I installed CWM (just in case I forgot) then when I rebooted the phone, the screen was black and it was showing apps were force closing. I rebooted into recovery again, wiped cache yet still same problem so I reset the entire phone and when I tried signing into Google, it said can't establish a reliable connection and this happened once earlier. Can someone please help me!!
I have installed the correct firmware
I would start with a factory reset.
And CWM is highly outdated and shouldn't be used anymore. Use TWRP to avoid possible conflicts.
Yeah I do factory data resets but after doing it, when I try to sign into Google, it says 'can't find a reliable connection' then I'd have to flash the stock firmware via odin again. When I try installing TWRP on odin, it freezes. I tried different versions of odin but still freezes. It might be the TWRP I chose but I can't find any that end with md5
