Hi guys,
I'm having an issue upgrading my S5 to lollipop. After I download the update, I hit install now and then the phone reboots.. then it immediately boots back up and gives me an error saying there was an error installing the update. I was previously rooted and I unrooted with SuperSu.
Is there an easy way around this or should I just upgrade through odin or something? If this is the case can someone quickly link me to a tutorial to do this? I'm a little rusty.
Thanks,
Ota
I had same issue I used Verizons Firmware repair then I did the update thru Verizons Firmware updater on my pc then work perfect, I kept getting update fail with the dead Android then I used this method and worked, I was rooted so I unrooted first after Uninstalling busybox.
Hi everyone,
This is my first post and I hope that I am in the right section.
As per info in the thread title, I have a Malaysian Samsung Galaxy Note 3 updated to the last available firmware 4.4.2
I am trying to flash Lollipop with Odin (i followed all the instructions in the guide, literally step by step).
I have tried with the italian Lollipop update branded Vodafone, but Odin always failed and the phone was soft bricked.
I have reinstalled the original malaysian firmware 4.4.2 that i had prior this attempt. phone booted ok and worked perfectly fine.
Then i downloaded the lollipop firmware from poland, this thime odin completed the process and gives me a pass. but the phone goes in boot loop (samsung logo at booting never goes away). I have tried to reboot in recovery mode and wipe the cache. but still boot loop.
Would anyone be so kind to explain what i am doing wrong and how i could install lollipop on my malaysian galaxy note 3?
Any help would be much appreciated.

note 3 lolipop(Malaysia) N9005
Guys good news because this morning when I was checking my software update ... Thru Ota is about 860mb and thru keis 3 is about 1.3gb. Took me couple hours to download and about 1hour ++ to install. Booting up took some time and luckily everything is working fine for the time being.
Anyone updated and how's the battery draining issue.
i try update my note3 using kies3, it confirmed lollipop 5.0 available to update, but unfortunately my note3 repeatedly crash during upgrade and window on kies top up said "PC cant recognized my phone". Maybe cause of my knox warranty void 0x1 (trip). i hack on local C:\Users\YOUR NAME\AppData\Local\Temp and get copy of *.zip files (N9005DXUGBOD1_N9005OLBGBOD1_HOME.zip). It was lollipop firmware version for malaysia. Upgrade it using Odin and succesfull installed.
Lolipop
I was having the same issue while updating thru keis. So I downloaded it thru OTA. Battery sucks after lolipop. If you are facing any issue just send me a mail

If you've rooted and flashed a custom rom your Knox was most likely tripped so you can't use Samsung apps anymore. You can mod shealth and get that working but that's about it. If you flash back to nougat you have to reset your phone.
If you flash nougat via Odin you'll have to reformat your phone
If you flash Oreo you won't need to since your system is already set to Oreo.
Also you said you did something that corrupted your storage, what exactly did you do?

Why not just flash a rooted Oreo rom that already has magisk? As for Samsung apps yeah you tripped Knox so those won't work anymore permanently
Hi,
I have official ROM on my Samsung S8 and version is Android 9.
It was never rooted but since the update, I am getting this error upon starting Samsung Health app "For your security, Samsung health can't be opened on a rooted phone".
As I said, it was never rooted and not rooted now but still getting this.
I've tried a factory reset, didn't help, I downloaded official firmware from sammobile website, still the same.
I haven't done backup with Smart Switch software so now cannot use it for "emergency software recovery".
Is there a way I can put it in a normal, official state as it was delivered to me through my carrier (T-Mobile) again so this can work?
Thank you
Found answers .... when tried installing TWRP earlier, it blew e-fuse so no way to recover that.
Workarounds ....
Rooting phone:

And then:

All good now.
did you change CSC? or did you flash the rom that's not for your country? (tired of waiting for one ui, maybe, so you flashed something in Odin?)
If that's the case, you have the exact same problem as i did with Samsung Health.
I had to flash multi-CSC rom, or ROM with my country's CSC to restore Samsung Health functionality... Also for me, installing any banking or company app was broken until i returned to "home" csc.
