I have read multiple threads on here saying that only the European version of the G6 is unlockable by using LG's bootloader unlock tool. But I just saw a "Enable OEM unlock" setting in the developer options on my G6 (US997).
Can anyone tell my, what this does?
Enabling that setting just allows for the bootloader to be unlocked it doesn't unlock it directly.

You can still unlock your bootloader for what it's worth on the us997. You'll need to have that option enabled in the Developer tools and then go to the official LG website, where you can get a flashable unlock.bin which you just fastboot flash unlock unlock.bin to the phone.
(I would post the link but newbie status)

So i installed the latest marshmallow update on my k3 note(k50a40) and while I was checking its features I found that there is an 'allow oem unlock' option in developer settings. From what I know this option allows us to unlock the bootloader from fastboot. I wanted to root my device but I dont know how to unlock the bootloader on this phone. Can someone help me?
I encountered a problem with unlocking the bootloader. To unlock it, it says in the instructions to enable usb debugging and oem unlock in dev settings but then i could not find any "oem unlock" in the developer settings causing the bootloader unlocker not to work. Does anyone know how to fix this and unlock their bootloader?
my zenfone 3 5.5" is currently updated to the latest update (nougat and everything else that follows)
which guide are you using?
The official way to do it is through the Asus app here. I believe you have to use official way because you are on the latest firmware and the unofficial way only works on pre-nougat.
Hi, few days ago I tried to install a rom stock on my moto g5 plus, but i didn´t unlock the bootloader from the system (debugging usb, oem unlock), now my phone is bricked and only enters on fastboot mode, how can I unlock the bootloader? Unfortunately, if you cannot boot into the operating system to enable "OEM Unlocking" in Developer Options, it is not possible to unlock the bootloader. Period... There is no way around it, and since you have been issued an unlock code your warranty is void (it doesn't matter if you actually unlock or not, your warranty is voided by the code being issued successfully).
With the bootloader being locked, downgrading is not possible, and since we don't have the latest factory firmware image your only options are to wait for it to become available and then flash it.
If look at the output of "fastboot getvar all" you should be able to see what version you have installed now. You need a full factory image that is the same or a higher version for the exact same variant you have, otherwise you just have a brick... Moto won't even lock at it, even if you pay for it.
I recently saw that OEM unlocking toggle is working. I unlocked my bootloader long ago. I'm on stock Oreo right now and I didn't "RELOCK THE BOOTLOADER" but it shows to me as if it was relocked. Is it possible? I already have magisk installed. Dunno what to do. Any suggestions?
The OEM unlock toggle in Developer Settings means nothing once you have unlocked the bootloader. Make sure it is enabled and check the bootloader manually... To my knowledge it is impossible to relock the bootloader without a signed image.
Hey guys, I'm about to get this phone (on its way and arriving today) and I was just wondering about the unlock procedure. I've been looking at this DirtySanta stuff and it looks kind of messy to me, so I was wondering if I could just enable oem unlock in dev options, reboot into fastboot, send fastboot oem unlock and then flash twrp as I always had with my other phones?
EDIT: It's an unlocled H910.
