You mean like attached below?
I am currently building my oZoP rom/mod that I working on being universally compatible for any deodexed v20 rom!
The fullscreen dialer woth custom solid or gradient comtrols as well as choose your own BG from gallery is just 1 of 150+ mods that will be available.
Still have work to do, but I'm 4 months into it so an inital release should hopefully be ready soon...
Just keep an eye in the development forum for oZoP.

Would be nice to have a bigger picture for the contact. That's what I miss. 5.7in 2K display and the picture of the person I'm calling is a little tiny circle.

Im definitely excited for that! I believe the OP is referring to the picture of the contact that appears when a call is made or incoming. Right now I believe its a very tiny circle with the contact pic. I believe on my Note 3 back in the kit kat days it was full screen. Im not sure if that was just a feature of the ROM I used the whole time or if the difference now is just the OS. Either way, what is needed to change that?

After receiving several pm's it seems there is a good amount of interest in this and since I'm not sure exactly how long it will be until I have my full oZoP build ready, I've decided to created a stand alone mod for my InCallUI Dialer mods!
The mod includes the following:
*Toggle for native call recording
*Toggle to switch Caller ID BG from the Stock small circle to the Large full width bg
*Toggle for custom BG with pick image from Gallery, solid or gradient any colors
*Color pickers for InCall Name and details, Dialpad Digits and text
These are all changable on-the-fly with the control app I am building specifically for this mod.
There will probably be a few more things added and it should work for any custom built stock based rom(more specifics as testers report back)
Thanks you and hope you enjoy it.
Look for the new thread soon...

I've had this problem before and the only solution I could find was to reboot. Haven't been able to find out exactly what the cause is but it only happened to me twice and hasn't done it in quite awhile now.

I'm told LG says it's a feature

I'm very excited and I can not wait, thanks on avance ?

Ok guys, so I am putting some final touches on this mod.
It is a stand alone mod pulled from my full oZoP mod.
As of right now for it to run on your current ROM you will need to ask your dev couple of things.
The first is "signature verification check" needs to be disabled. I am going to upload the file with hope I can get some feedback for all variant compatible.
Next need to know if the are using Rom Control and which version. There will be if the package name is "com.wubydax.romcontrol.v2". If there is a RC app in your apps you can verify the version by navigating to the data/data folder on your phone and search to make sure there IS NOT the package name listed above. This would cause confliction with your current mods and you will have to wait for the full release of my oZoP mod.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR FEEDBACK TEST -
*Download the attachment
*navigate to your phones system/framework folder and copy to a safe place "core-oj.jar".
*flash the zip in recovery and reboot
*report back here with details;
*boot or no boot (if no boot, boot to recovery and take the copied file and replace in framework)
If you boot, your good. Sig check is disabled and you're tha much closer to using the mod
*what model you have and what rom you are running
*** this file is NOT INTENDED for odexed system!!!***
So if you guys want this mod I need to see interest and MUST get feedback!
If there is neither, well then I guess the wait for oZoP will continue.. No skin off my back... I'm already running the mod and enjoying the custom bg's, colorable text and full sized caller id.
Confirmed Compatible with sig disabled zip and InCallUI mods:
Variant Device
H918 - WETA Rom
H918 - MEGA Rom
VZ995 - WETA Rom
STILL LOOKING FOR FEEDBACK....
Variant Device
US996 -
LS997 -

[Android] Android Media Update Package

With apologies to mssmison, I've removed the updated build I posted--an update package would've been a better solution, but in the excitement with all of the changes, I didn't consider it.
With the changes made thanks to vilord, it is extremely simple for users to update their own builds with whatever customizations they please. Rather than provide updates to others builds, I'm going to start a new project, with the focus (firstly) to provide a compendium of Android system audio. This will include ringtones, notifications, alarms, and UI audio.
Many of these sounds are the same from device to device, but some devices do come with customized audio, so my objective is to provide as many different devices worth of dynamic audio, so if you please, you can have a wide array of audio choices to use on your phone with this update package.
I'm working on the first update package now, and I'll update this thread once finished.
how about making an androidupdate.tar for those that have already installed and make use of that nice new menu option.

+1 for that
Advantage #2 of doing that, when mssmison releases a new version, you can still apply your update over it without starting over (as long as there aren't any file clashes)
After flashing the 320 nbh file and trying to load the installer (Vol UP), I am getting the following error:
Kernel panic - not syncing: Fatal exception in interrupt.
What is causing this?
I'm running this now. Looking good! Props to you and mssmison and vilord and all the other great devs
EDIT: running great. Only true annoyance I have is the dialer. All of this awesome new development and not just a resized dialer? jk the devs are great. but really the dialer can get annoying.

Thanks much.
An update package would've been a better solution. I didn't consider it, and also didn't give a second thought to posting the changes I had made because I was too excited to run the build myself. I apologize for that.
can you post an update package too? (with mssmison's blessings first of course).
I was hoping to use corp calendar from your update
any one know way to copy corporate calendar events to google calendar automatically.
I am using Pure Calendar Widget and would like to show my personal events (Google Cal) and work events (corp cal/exchange cal) on home screen.

Few New MODs! VolumeStepping Fixed - More Mods in 2nd post!

Edit: Volume Stepping Mod fixed! More Mods Added!! See second post for new Mods.
Hello, my name is Doc....and I am a recovering lurker!
First post ever here! (Would that be Step 2 or 3 in the recovery program???)
Anyhow, I have been lurking around XDA for quite some time now, mostly just absorbing A LOT of fantastic information, and although it is not much I thought it was time I shared back!
Please keep in mind, that I can offer no promise of support. (These are mods I did for myself and figured others may appreciate them.) The main reason I have never participated here before is time, as in I don't have much of it! (Single Dad, 2 jobs, and all that jazz) I will do my best to help out (and keep contributing), but there will often be periods of time where I simply will not be around to respond. I am not trying to be an ass, just honest and up front. If there are any issues with what I share, I don't want people getting angry because the OP wasn't around to fix his stuff!
I have been using these for a few weeks now and have had no real problems, so I am fairly confident that they should work for the rest of you. Once I reach my 10 post limit I will move these into the Development section since it seems that very few people even vist these other areas anymore. I will also post links to the original threads where I got the mods.
If any of these have already been done for our phones please let me know. And of course, if anyone knows of a better way, or has any ideas, please do share!
Link to downloads are at bottom of post.
Remember, these are for STOCK FROYO!
NANDROID, NANDROID, NANDROID!!!
Remap Faves button to Settings (Rosie.apk) -(Thanks/Credit to the1wingedangel)-
I know there are quite a few of these already out there, but have not seen one made to go into Settings. I find I use it quite often and it has been very convenient for me. Hopefully someone else may find it usefull as well.
Smooth Spinners (Framework-res.apk) -(Thanks/Credit to D.O.C)-
This is simple eye-candy, but I like it a lot! It does what it implies...Smooths out the rotation of the spinning circles displayed while loading.
(NOTE: This mod is in Framework-res.apk, so if you are themed, you may not want to flash this) (I will post the modded smali files later on so you can do a simple copy paste and keep your themes intact)
Volume Stepping Increase and Smooth Scroll (Framework.jar) -(Thanks/Credit to AndroidON)-
The Smooth Scroll portion of this will disable ScrollingCache for the whole system. Apparently it was not implemented as well as it should have been and I find my Slide really likes having it disabled. (i.e. Under Settings > Applications > Manage Apps - when scrolling through the list of apps, it is very very smooth! No more skipping or hesitating!)
The volume portion will not increase the max volume of your Slide, but will allow finer control over the volume. It changes:
Media, Bluetooth and TTS from 15 to 30 volume steps;
Ringtone from 7 to 15 volume steps;
Voice Call from 5 to 10 volume steps. (I am uncertain what this changed, as in-call and speakerphone volume remains unchanged. I assume this may be overridden by another setting or it is not applicable to the custom ROM I am using. If anyone knows more about this, please share your knowledge!)
Download: min.us/mEspresso < copy/paste in browser
Thanks to everyone here at XDA!
ENJOY!
Extended Power Menu - All In One Zip - Decompiled files for Framework-res.apk
Here are a couple of more Mods...
All mods are flashable through CWM.
Extended Power Menu (Reboot) (android.policy.jar and com.htc.resources.apk) -(Thanks/Credit to ca1ne)-
My personal fave! This will add an extended power menu...Long press the power button and you will see an extra option, Reboot! Select this and you will get a second menu to choose the type of reboot. Choose from Normal, Hot Restart, Bootloader, or Recovery.
I do plan on uploading one without the htc.resources.apk for those that have already modded this file. The only reason it is included is for the Reboot icon. I made this icon for myself, but it is possible to default it to the generic Settings Gear icon you may have seen on similar mods, which would remove the need for including the extra file.
AllMods.zip - This is all of the mods I have listed so far, in one flashable file.
In my download folder, you will notice a few other items:
SmoothSpinnersMod_Themed.zip and AllMods_Themed.zip - These are the exact same mods, only the framework-res.apk is the one I personally use. (Others provided have not been themed). It isn't much, but I used UOT (Thanks to them of course!!) to spice up my Status Bar a little. Replaced many of the white status icons with prettier colored ones, changed the stock spinner to a Radar spinner, and included the Circle Battery with %.
I had it, so I figured I'd share it!
SmoothSpinners Files.zip - If your framework-res is already modded/themed, this is for you. Unzip the files, decompile your framework-res and copy/paste the files from my zip to: framework-res.apk/res/drawable/ Recompile. Thats it.
I know these are fairly minor mods, but I wanted to put them out there anyway in case someone is interested. I do hope someone finds some good use in these.
There are a few other mods I have attempted, but could not get to work on Froyo. I will likely be making the move to SalsaSlide sometime this week. (Finally, right??) Anyway, I plan to bring all of these over to GB as well as a few others I have been working on, so stay tuned!
Downloads: min.us/mEspresso < copy/paste in browser.
I know that these are for Froyo, which is probably not being used by very many people here anymore, but I am curious if anyone has even tried any of them and if so what did you think?

New Eris Rom. [Bob's Rom] 4/3/12

Updates (4/26/12)
So there is an updated Cyanogen Mod 7.2 for the Eris released. See this post for more details
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1605308 Thanks to XDA member "bigrat" for pointing it out.
I tweaked this new version and removed all the extra stuff again. See the list below from the previous version. I got a few of the features I wanted added to this version.
Changes:
3d Gallery is out 2d Gallery is in.
Hosts file updated should block most adds.
DNS settings changed. Still uses a public provider (Comodo Secure DNS) The Google ones are still in there for backup so you should resolve no matter what.
Removed the XtrSense boot animation. Replaced it with a Black screen. I think it boots faster now.
LCD Density is back to 160. 150 breaks the Market sometimes and it's hardly noticeable.
Here are some source links (Thanks Doogald!)
Cyanogen RC link http://download.cyanogenmod.com/?type=RC&device=desirec
from xtrSENSE, the GScript source is http://code.google.com/p/gscript-and...ource/checkout

Cyanogen Mod source is http://github.com/CyanogenMod

Misc
Also I decided to make an archive for all the Eris stuff I have collected. If you want me to host your stuff send me a PM and I'll put it up. If I have your stuff and you want it removed PM me and I'll gladly take it down.
Have a look here
http://www.360pc.com/eris/
Future Features:
I would like to add .zip files that can be downloaded and flashed to the eris that contain the packages I have removed. I had a request for the calender and calculator. I need to see how legal it would be to just include these as an extra flashable .zip
Also I recommend the FullThrottle Data fix flash this before Google apps

And Most of all thanks for the feedback, encouragement, and assistance! I really appreciate it.
*older Info*
Ok Eris users. I am new to making android rom's and don't claim to be an expert. This is my first attempt at cooking a rom and I like it so I thought I would share it. This is a learning experience for me.
So it's based off of the Cyanogen Mod 7.1 found here in the Eris forums
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1297719
Thanks to Cyanogen It's mostly his stuff I just cleaned it out a bit.
I also merged some stuff from XtrSense 5.01
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=726467
Thanks zach.xtr
I designed it to be functional not "pretty" It's also light I tried to take out all the extra stuff I could.
So here is what I have done.
Start off with the Cyanogen base and then remove the following
Androidian theme
Cyanobread theme
Cyanogen Wallpaper pack
Rom Manager
Email app (get Gmail off the market)
quick search box
browser (Go get a real browser non webkit off the market)
music (Get something else off the market)
Theme Manager
Calender (I never use it even though I should)
DeskClock
Magic Smoke Wallpaper
Calculator (Find something better on the market)
protips
sound recorder
dsp manager
Cyanogen updater notifications
Theme Chooser
Cyanogen Stats
Live Wallpaper picker
tts service
spare parts
application provider
Pico Tts
Html Viewer
Cyanogen Screenshot tool
That's 15mb of removed stuff.
Then I pulled the following from the xtrSense rom
The gscript tool
and the Boot animation (it's 600k vs the 1.6mb for the cyanogen animation)
Also changed the LCD Density from 160 to 150 to zoom out a bit on the display. More screen area (like increasing the resolution)
Things I am working on. Future additions
I am trying to remove the 3d gallery as it is so slow on the Eris I will be replacing it with the 2d gallery when I can get it and the camera both working right.
Updating the Hosts file to block all those annoying adds. I have this ready but forgot to include it in this build. It'll make it into the next. Some people may prefer this build without it.
Someday I will include BotBrew and ship SSH support and Rsync
Modify the DNS settings. Right now The OS is using google's public DNS to resolve stuff. I'll add in an East coast USA DNS to make it a bit faster. Possibly a few other custom locations too.
Replace the Cyanogen and XtrSense artwork with smaller more bland/boring original artwork.
More as I see fit.
I am not responsible for what you do with your phone. I have tested this on my ERIS but I make no warranty claims. You do this at your own risk.
To install
Download the rom here
www.360pc.com/bob3.zip
Make a Backup. Then make a backup of your backup and store it offsite.
Wipe your data/cache.
Wipe your Davlic cache
Install the new rom.
Reboot.
once you get to the home screen I recommend loading up the android market app. It will give you some messages about "Google Play" Agree and then reboot again. Your Market app will be replaced with a "play" app and you should be able to install stuff.
Notes
This Rom does not overclock your CPU! it leaves it at the defaults. If you want to overclock it's in the Cyanogen Mod Settings menu.
I did not change the cyanogen mod wallpaper not did I change the extsense boot animation I apologize in advance if any of the developers feel that I have ripped them off. I will be changing these when I can.
With the Browser and the 3d gallery removed the Eris Runs super fast. More on this later.
I'm Open to suggestions or comments, I can take Criticism. I may even honor requests given that I like them.
Thanks for the Long read, and Thanks for all the work done by the Devs keeping the Eris alive for this long. You guys Rock!
-EvilBob-
Good work man. It's surprising to see some new development for the eris.
Sent from my ADR6350 using Tapatalk
Ditto, it's nice to see any kind of development still active.
Great to see it, but a ROM has to have the calendar to make it on to my phone. I think I'd also rather have the calculator on there - I hardly use it anyway, so I don't want to waste precious /data space for a market calculator for the few times I need one. I can't quibble with anything else otherwise.
Oh, though I think you should put up a notice at some point pointing at your source links, including for the GScript tool...
Wow, Thanks for the Replies everyone. Glad to see some people still look here.
The calender and calculator aren't too big it would only add an extra 388 KB to the total size. I will consider putting these back in.
As for the Source Links I'll have to look into this and do some homework. I really just copied .apk's them out of the other two rom's I mentioned. I will gladly give credit when I find out where it comes from. Or Remove the app if I need to.
Aside from that I did find a few bugs. My Screen Density change makes most apps on the market incompatible I will switch it back to 160 from 150 for the next release.
There is a way to make the market compatible even with a changed density. I don't have the link ready but there is someone over in android general that has hacked the market to work with changed density.

[Q] [HELP] Building a Theme

Hello, everyone!
I'm new here on XDA and very, very new to modding. I was wondering if anyone could help me? I just purchased a Galaxy Note 3 and I would like to theme it but I don't particularly know how. I've used the search feature but I don't think I'm wording what I need correctly. Here's what I need help with:
1. A tutorial to edit just a theme not the whole ROM.
2. How do I preview my work so far? I don't want to flash every time I make a change.
3. Is it at all possible to create a whole theme with Eclipse? If so, is there a tutorial I can use?
Before you start grumbling, I repeat...I have used the search feature on XDA and I can't seem to find what I'm looking for. Simply links pointing me to the right place would be perfect. Thanks in advance, everyone!

1. Just use Google, many reputable themers write up good guides to get you started: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=916814 and http://xda-university.com/as-a-user/introduction-to-basic-rom-theming
2. You can just switch your themed apk's and SystemUI, then adjusting permissions on them will do fine too...except this will take more time than flashing all files at once.
3. Well you'll need Photoshop too.........for themes....

Thanks for that link! I have Photoshop already, I had a feeling I would need it at some point, haha. As for #2... that was gibberish to me. I would love to share my theme once I'm done with it (if anyone is interested in girly white and light pink). I don't know how to switch apk's and SystemUI or adjusting permissions. Will that link you gave me explain it all? I'm sorry, this is hard for me to grasp.

#2 meant that if you wanted to do system level modding, like modding the look of general apps like Settings, your notification bar, etc....you will have to do that. It's quite complex because you can't just use Java/Eclipse solely to do this. At the end of this though, you can make any device look "the same".
APK's are program files and the SystemUI is what makes your phone....well, a phone. The general GUI of the Statusbar, lockscreen and navigation bar (if you have one set). You will have to set your permissions back as you have to give the system the rights to access the file. If the permissions are set incorrectly, then you'll have to reflash an entire ROM, so that's why making sure you do it right in the updater-script of the flashable zip is more reliable.
If I were you, try theming launchers first, they're usually what people theme for. You could earn good money from it if you put it on Play.

I would really, really like to theme the whole thing, because I absolutely hate the stock colors and the black on white hurts my eyes. I've searched for a ROM with a light theme, but to no avail, especially since the Note 3 is relatively new. I've been trying to figure it out all day and I don't know what I'm doing, haha. I have a theme that I want to modify, so I don't have to start from scratch. It is very complex, I think I have smoke coming out of my ears -_-;

I understand...reminds me of being on stock S5 ROMs where everything was forced to be a shade of teal or blue, made me want to puke.
You could try installing a theme, tweaking it directly on your device (in turn learning how the Android operating system works), and then doing it again on your computer to make it shareable.
May I also recommend an Xposed module called Wanam Xposed alongside your flashed theme. You can essentially change every aspect of your Samsung SystemUI there. From toggles to the notification colors, it gives you a certain amount of themeability that may satisfy some needs.

Thank you for your help! I'm going to try all this and see if I can figure it out. In the meantime, I'm on the hunt for a pink theme. xD
This is a good place to start.
And this is good for photoshop/Gimp processing.

Due to my haste and a surfeit of whiskey, I forgot to say that Alliance ROM - my daily driver - will allow you to get your theme as pink as you need without complications. Background, text, whatever. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2571255

I tried Wanam Xposed, it didn't work for me at all. Nothing happened and I followed instructions.

Did you install the Xposed Framework on Xposed Installer?
It works on all devices no matter what firmware.

Alliance allows changes to backgrounds etc, either universal or per app. Same with text colours, the dialler and heaps more, not just the status bar. Other roms and associated kitchens may allow the same, I wouldn't know. But Alliance is so easy to theme on the fly and is rock solid too.

I see. I'm just more used to AOSP because of its sleek professional look over TW ROMs, so I'm not up to date with the mass influx of TW custom ROMs.
