I meant options within system UI tuner. Like being able to edit your Nav bar and enabling picture-in-picture

Looking at that, before you all upgrade add a pip button to your navbar

For those on preview 3, does the Commonwealth Bank app, does tap & pay work?
Google Play music widget works properly?
Any lag opening apps / camera?
So far I've noticed there's a new locking/unlocking sound
The media control notification being coloured to match the album art
Camera UI changes
And of course it's labeled as Android 8.0.0

I think the commbank app worked ok on Preview 2. I very rarely use the tap n pay though.
I'll try it out later today at woolies and let you know.

Yea the app worked fine but the the tap & pay part didn't (for me anyway). I don't use it often, but it has come in useful when I've forgotten my wallet.
I wanna flash this so bad, but it's a huge pain to roll back when I get the inevitable root/ROM itch. Is it daily driver worthy or a marked improvement from DP2?

I just made a purchase at woolies using CBA Tap n Pay.
After the OTA from N > OPP3, I did however need to clear app data form the commbank app as Tap n Pay was just giving me a rotating circle of nothingness. Once i set up the app again (the on-boarding screens are so annoying) it worked fine.
Also, I did a reboot after the first boot into O as lots of crash messages while the 'Android system finalising' notification was doing it's thing. All good now.

Since there's never going to be a rollback OTA for Verizon users with locked bootloader, finally glad to see an update.
Edit: Nevermind, finally got the rollback OTA.
If you really want/need to edit your nav bar, (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=xyz.paphonb.systemuituner&hl=en) this app still works on DP3, all you need to do is give it access to system ui tuner perms by following the steps in the app using adb shell.
SuperSU v2.82 SR1 works on O DP3 for Pixels.

I don't know if you are on MM yet but I noticed that there is a thing under App's (on MM) in settings where you can set what apps draw over e.g.. facebook chat bubbles. I think if you enable your apps that you want notifying you on lock-screen to draw over mode then it may show on lock-screen. Its working so far for my weather updates from google app... I could be entirely wrong and I am using a fairly wonky build of MM but I just thought I would offer my insight Best of luck bud.

I am not on marshmallow as yet waiting for the Ota
I'm sure MM will fix that for you bud!
I do know the struggle, waiting on OTA's for us in New Zealand is painful. On top of the fact that before I went MM I wasn't getting notifications at all, calls missed cause it wasn't bringing the call screen up...all sorts of havoc.
Worst comes to worst you could try factory restore, then do the theme thing that other guy mentioned. You should technically have a default, it's weird you are missing it.

Try Next Lock screen from microsoft:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.microsoft.next
Google just released the first Android O Developer Preview! For real, though, it’s here!
Android O will introduce new features by way of background limits on apps (think battery life boost), notification channels (more control over notifications), picture-in-picture, adaptive icons, autofill in apps, and more. Full details on what’s new can be found here.
The new version of Android will run through four preview versions, with preview 2 hitting in mid-May, preview 3 in mid-June, preview 4 likely some time in August, and then the final release in Q3. It’s a similar schedule to last year’s Android N preview program.
The first Android O Developer Preview is available for the Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel C, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, and Nexus Player.
You can download the Preview 1 images right here. Instructions on how to flash a factory image can be found here. Android O is now a part of the Android Beta at this time because it’s a hella-early developer build that probably isn’t all that stable.

Ive been running it since it was released and havent had any problems so i would say it stable
Flashed my pixel c, very stable until my touch screen went bad...
Coincidence , absolutely not, flashed 7.1.1 and still had the touchscreen issues. Screen goes black every time i touch the screen with my palm or more than 4 fingers on the screen at the same time.
Google has sent me a replacement device Will test again with the new device.
I'm running O-preview since release, for me it is NOT 100% stable, but is doing a decent job.
What does this mean? -> ~ 1-2 reboots a day and spotted a graphics glitch (only 1x).
Not much trouble here, but I use mine as a test device so really haven't put it through its paces. If I were actually using it to do work/play I'd stay on Nougat unless there were a specific O-feature I required.
Desperate for root access, need to get apps tested with O+root, and would prefer not to buy yet another device (5x/6p) to do it.
i wonder if chainfires O dev test superSU includes the pixel C as included devices?
is there now an hdmi out support added via usb-c?
Anyone with a mouse tried to use the built-in file manager? On all 7.x versions the mouse cursor only selects (as if long clicked) files & folders, it cannot open them. Quite annoying, believe it or not...

thanks for the info.
one thing i've noticed is it seems that my O preview is rebooting at times. i can tell because when i pick it up i see the android beta program notice that seems to tacked onto the O boot. i've read that google has said it isn't in the beta program yet so not sure why i get that notice. the reboot issue is the first time for me that the device has exhibited spontaneous reboots but i guess it could be any number of things from apps that are not tuned to O yet to something in O preview itself. otherwise , it is running well with the apps i've used to this point running well.
edit: i have noticed since i posted the above message that trying to uninstall apps that had been installed while using android N causes a lock-up and never finish properly however the apps are no longer listed as being installed. i'm curious if anyone else experiences this behavior.

Yes it is new bootloader. I expect this for around 2 weeks now. Seems like it is little harder to flash anything on this bootloader.

Yeah I'm installing it now myself.
Updated mine but facial recognition is now not working. Under settings, I see under Screen Lock Type I still have password, Face and Fingerprints as an option but "Face Recognition" is now grayed out. If I go into the Screen Lock Type setting, Face shows the switch to the right but that option is grayed out as well and can't be changed.

Might want to try going to lock screen and security settings then go to other security settings and clear credentials. I haven't had that same problem since I updated today so I haven't tried it on this phone but it worked on another Android device that I have when it greyed out Security Options.

What's changing: Network performance enhancements, stability improvements, other various updates and fixes, and Android device security updates, including KRACK Wi-Fi vulnerability fix and BlueBorne fix (on SPLs September 1 or later)
I'd say that the KRACK fix itself is a good reason to update.

apparently all that does is clear your saved certificates. I have been able to disable face scan by turning on iris but that doesn't work so well with my glasses. Face recognition is my preference but I can't seem to get it to enable after update.

Anytime you do an OTA the Substratum app developers suggest uninstalling all of the themes. Nothing is broke on the device it's just causing an issue with seeing the home screen/settings.
This is also why using ADB to uninstall the layers would fix the issue.
Just for future reference for everyone.

No close all recents button
Just swipe up one by one and they are gone. I've been using the first Beta for a while and now this one and the occasional 'API compatibility detection' message that goes away in seconds seems to be the only abnormal thing if any, pretty snappy and stable enough to be used as daily. IMHO all of the changes are kinda of cool adding a clean and easy interface. Change is inevitable the only constant is death and taxes !
I'm actually glad there's some big changes. Feels like a new era when bits and pieces from the lollipop age is getting replaced. Yes it might be hard to adjust in the beginning but it's great to see that there's new stuff going on. I'm sure custom roms will bring back stuff we are accustomed to but the direction it's heading I like. Feels like something new. Will flash DP2 as soon as I get back home from work. Can't wait haha.

No Q root via Magisk until major rewrite it seems.
https://twitter.com/topjohnwu/status/1105947979679191041
There are more tweets after that explaining why and the complexities of the new Q partition layout.
Thanks! I was rushing before work. I figured I'd give it a shot. I wasn't totally surprised it ended in failure.

It's working for me, but it appears to need more forceful gestures than previously. But this might be because I fitted a new screen protector yesterday!
In reading the twitter feed by Magisk dev John Wu, it may come sooner than expected, his last couple of tweets made it seem like he had narrowed the problem down a bit. Also, another user hinted at a possibility of getting it working via an alternate method, but I haven't seen anything else.
But since this thread is about Q, let me say this:
1) I already had dark mode on in Pie.
2) I had root via Magisk, but completely uninstalled it (without locking the bootloader though), so no FDR needed.
3) First attempt at taking the OTA left me in a weird partial (stock) recovery where it said that the OTA could not be applied (I'm paraphrasing), and had the options to try again or FDR. I hit try again and it rebooted back to the same place - I hit try again a second time and et voila! it rebooted to Android and I have Q now on my Taimen. No idea why that happened, and I haven't performed any checks to see if it maybe flipped to the other slot or something (which I highly doubt, as it was extremely quick from when I pressed the try again to when it rebooted and started booting Android Q).
So, first thoughts:
The Google Feed now has a bit of translucency - pretty cool!
Settings is now dark mode
Notifications are also dark, double yay!
Night light is working better - the blue accents in settings, etc now also dull, the way they should.
Redesigned Files app - looks nice! Those items at the top are selectable, individually or in groups.
