Hello. I am looking to purchase a LG G6 and confused by variants of LG G6 available right now. My questions are:
1) Is a factory unlocked G6 tmobile version the same as US997 variant?
2) Is US997 also the us celluar variant? So I need to buy a unlocked US997, not just any US997 model?
3) Do all US variants of LG g6 have the same set of hardware, ie supporting the same set of LTE/3G bands or the US997 variant supports all bands used by all US carriers?
thanks.
US997 is the Cellular model which is GSM/CDMA unlocked. It has all the bands necessary to work on all US carriers.
Not sure about other hardware.

I'm not familiar with VS988 but its Sounds like its a Verizon device. Usually all Verizon LG devices get VS on them. That's something you can try by googling that model number. Usually Verizon says their devices are globally unlocked but knowing Verizon i wouldn't trust that a research myself.

Thank you. Some US997 sellers on ebay say they can only work on US Cellular network. Is this true or they are speaking out of minds?

Anyone knows the model number for LG V20 in Canada? The H990 and H990DS both missing band 17 seems like. Band 17 is use by rogers and fido.
I would really appreciate an answer too, can't find anything on web about Canadian variant...
Maybe the US996 model? (the same as US Cellular) - it supports Band 17 (at least according to frequencycheck.com )
H915
H915 for sure

I am on ATT network. I know TMobile phones work on ATT network. But what about Verizon,Sprint and US Cellular models? Do they work on ATT if they are sim unlocked?
it depends on phone to phone and what bands each model comes with. usually verizon/sprint models are different from AT&T and all the classic GSM carriers but nowadays some carrier has some special band while the other has control of some other band etc so you gotta do a little research when you check out a particular model to see if it'll work for your needs
I have an opportunity to buy an Unlocked Sprint LG G6 for a great price. The only issue I am on the ATT network. Would it work flawlessly on the ATT network if it's unlocked?
The Sprint model LS993 supports the same AT&T bands that the AT&T model H871 does. Neither model supports LTE B17 or B130.
So it should work.
You might never be able to get VoLTE or HD Voice working, since AT&T does it in a nonstandard way, but if that doesn't bother you, go for it.
Hi, I am wondering if a sim Unlocked Sprint G6 could access AT&T LTE bands?
I know 3G would work. But not sure if the Sprint G6 has the LTE bands on At&T.
Thank you.
LTE will work on AT&T (1900Mhz).

Hey there all
Been a while since I visited xda
I am having a host of verizon phones, lg g5, lg v20, droid turbo, even lg intuition.
Was wondering if there is a way to switch on the volte on the verizon g5 and v20, both are stock, oreo at the moment with latest security patch.
I am planning to use both of these in India.
Thanks
Sent from my veriZon v20.
Anyone????

Are you sure the bands are even compatible outside of the US? And even if the LTE bands are compatible, most of the rest of the world uses GSM while Verizon is a CDMA carrier.

Verizon phones in general have both GSM as well as CDMA radios
I have been using all my Verizon phones on GSM but without volte. I am aware that with a custom rom volte would be possible.
But i am not willing to take the plunge now in the rooted pool really...
