Yotaphone 2 lollipop without GAPPS? - YotaPhone

Hello!
I am searching for lollipop without gapps. I tried everything, cpu tuner, greenify... etc, i dont use my phone and my battery draining. Is there android os for yotaphone 2 without GAPPS? The necessary apps i will install with apk.
Thanks for help.

All official builds carry Google core apps, framework and services.
You can remove most of the Gapps without crippling the system, however most of the apps that rely upon Google Services Framework and Google Play Services may not function, WhatsApp included (generally its the background sync that ceases to function).

You can have any firmware without GAPPS, just study how to remove them with scripts like this and then if you want to use some apps that require Google Play Services, inform yourself about microG project. As our official firmwares come with gapps pre-installed, we need to remove them after the installation and the script is a helpful tool to do that.
I was thinking to do the same, but at the moment I don't have much time to experiment, anyway some users on 4pda are successfully using their YotaPhone2 without Gapps.

[Q] Safe to freeze Google Services Framework?

Guys i wanna know if its safe to freeze google services framework as i have all the google apps disabled (playstore maps youtube search etc) ..
Ps. I had recently flash a xperia p with a cm11 mod but didnt flash the gapps package so it doesnt hav google services framework installed either.. So i can freeze that on galaxy y too right?
It says Google Services Framework Provides account / login information to Google Apps , So if ever i do really need any of google apps i can just unfreeze it via titanium backup...

well.. if you do not use any gapps then it's okay to freeze google services framework..
yes.. Google Services Framework provides account/login information.. whenever i have to switch google account i just rename it to other name.. and clean datas/caches of other gapps and name it back again.. so i dont have to factory reset
just make sure you have frozen all google apps otherwise you will get so many force closes.. all google apps will start to fc.. happened to me lol.. :silly:
I have a similar question, what if my phone is running Google Services Framework and Google Play Services concurrently on my phone. No idea how that happened, but it was my understanding that GPS supplanted the functionality of GSF. Therefore, wouldn't it be safe to freeze GSF so long as GPS is still running?
the only thing i can say and suggest is to never use this damn play services.

Nexus 7 2012
TWRP 2.8.1.0
Version: 2014-11-17
Thanks for the feedback!
Next update will be introducing a new installation system that can help with different /system partition size.
It should be done within 3 days!
New build is up! Please give me feed back on this so I can improve it more!
When Play Services 6.5 is pushed (with trusted locations) will we get the update automatically or do we need to rely on you to make a new Gapps package? Thanks for your work! Trying it now.
Normally, the Google Play Services should able to update itself. But I'll also update the build when it's out, to reduce /data usage.
Can you remove the Android Version check or make a version for 5.0.1? Thanks!
Sorry for the delay, but here it is! All updated to latest version and provided Slim version for devices having smaller /system partition!

Chinese ZTE blade A601 , unable to install gapps

Hello,
Recently I've bought in china ZTE BA601 for chinese market. And I can't install any google services on it. I tried to install opengapps and cgapps from custom recovery(TWRP doesn't support this device) and always get message "updates failed because of the wrong version" , though I tried versions for ARM android 5.1, which should be fine. I also tried to install google play services apk, and it crashes immediately - "google play services has stopped...", so I can't install anything related to google - inbox, translate, maps etc.
Any advise for a newbie?
I am also in the exactly same situation. I cannot even install apps from Google Play and that's probably because Google is banned from China. Any ideas?
have you tried Google apps odexed and root system to throw? sorry for my English... Google chrome is also from the market. however, I have it installed
How to root this device?

Flashing open gapps over stock OOS?

So I did this once before and it ended up with a few apps force quitting on startup. Looking at a log cat it seems like they were unable to open android system webview I tried installing that form the app store with no dice.
Does anyone here know if it's possible to remove the google bloat and just install everything from the play store out of the things you need?
Stock OOS already has Google apps included. What exactly are you trying to accomplish by flashing Gapps over Google apps that are already installed?
This has worked with me GApps .

Remove gapps and replace with gapps from opengapps?

I'm curious if this is possible with the stock rom any of my current attempts seems to fail with apps not being able to load properly.
I'm assuming there are some dependencies and it's not possible to remove all the gapps from the stock rom only to replace them with the apps from opengapps.
main reason is I don't want things like google movies / chrome / the google app and most things that you can get from the app store I rather just install the app store version but I'm thinking that might not be possible or it would be a bad idea to try this on a stock rom. Even if it is rooted.
Why you don’t Just disable this app.
If you are rooted there is a debloater app for stock OOS. You flash it in TWRP, an Aroma installer comes up and you can pick which Google and OP system apps and some non essential services that you would like to uninstall. It works very well.

Aroma debloater seems to have been removed but thanks for the link. I'll check around in that forum.

I already have a lot of the gapps disabled but on my previous phone I was on a custom rom and I prefered just not having the app entirely.
