[ROOT] need to upload few files - Nexus 6P Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi i was messing aroung with rooted Nexus and was trying to flash 60fps mod and it's choppy, buggy and not stable at all. I would like to go to the stock without making factory reset so, could you, please, dear person upload for me those files? (Android 7+)
liboemcamera.so
libmmcamera_imx377.so
from system/vendor/lib/
and
media_profile.xml
from system/etc
Or you can send it to me via email [email protected] thank you so much.

Just reflash the rom, without wiping data.

But i have developer build of Android 8.0 and i only need to flash system.img because i have already flashed TWRP recovery. Is it possible to re-flash just system.img? I know it will delete all data and cache that's why i needed only those specific files.

Please could you just upload those 3 specific files? I don't wanna any other solution than this... Please.

I'm not on O, but flashing the system.img with twrp does not wipe your data, just dirty flash. Make a backup, if you feel uncomfortable.
Edit: flash twrp.img as recovery after flashing system.img, and reboot to recovery before booting the system. Or after flashing twrp recovery, mount system, use twrp filemanager and delete recovery-from-boot.p. under system. Both ways should keep twrp as your recovery.

I did flash system.img but, the camera behaves weird. I mean. When i switch to video mode the view is zoomed in (kinda drastically) when compare to camera mode. There is like 25% zoom on the video mode. I don't know what i did wrong but i know that this isn't "normal" behavior. The difference between camera mode and video is huge. It is really zoomed in. I need those files from either Android 8.0 or 7.1.2 it doesn't really matter. I just need those specific files.

Ok

Thank you so much. Copied files, but the video is still weird. It can't focus on close objects clearly. And the latency between what i record and what i see is big. I'd say around 200ms? Is there any way i can revert it back to default?

If you feel your phone is messed up, backup with tibu and do a clean install.
Always best thing to do, or wipe everything except data and internal, reinstall the system.img

Just flash the vendor image and that should be it. That is what I did when I accidentally deleted these files and the camera app stopped working.

Okay, thanks. Will try it on the weekend.

did you fix it? I had the same issue
can you please help me fix this??

[Q] Anyone knows where my storagespace went after upgrading to 4.3?

Hey guys,
i noticed something weird after ugrading to android 4.3 (official images).
After the upgrade and setting up my n4 i noticed that my available storagespace was only 6gb, but i have a 16gb model so it must be around 12gb user available space(????) at minimum i guess.
Somebody noticed this too or is there some explaination for this??
I clean flashed the sh*t out of it so that shouldn't be the problem i think.
Cheers

I don't recall the exact cause of this. But if you flash the factory images with the bat file it will be back to normal.
That will also wipe your phone though so keep that in mind.

Really??? So flashing the img one by one isn't the best way to do it, tought it was the right way.

I'm sure it can be done no problem flashing them one by one. Just can't recall what causes it. Whether you need to fastboot erase things or what. Maybe don't flash the userdata. Img Had it happen to me on the original nexus 7.
I'm pretty sure if you look around in the how to threads its probably mentioned and explained. Or a Google search. I just don't care. Since the flashing script fixes it / doesn't cause it.
I think it mostly comes up from erasing cache instead of formatting it. I ran into it the other day too when going back to stock. You can try wiping cache if you installed a custom recovery, otherwise a factory reset (formatting data/cache) cleared out up for me

Sgace,
I have the same problem.
Did you manage to solve it?
albundy2010,
Do you mean the file named flash-all.bat?
If yes, what should I do with it? enter the bootloader and double click on the file? I mostly used toolkits by now...
Thanks!
Edit: Nevermind, it seems a factory reset (from the phone settings, not recovery) fixed the problem. Wierd.
It will return to phone to a clean full stock 4.3. It will be exactly like how a device would ship from Google with 4.3 on it. Except that the boot loader will still be unlocked.
To use the bat file its fairly simple.
1. Unpack the file you get from Google. Do not extract the files you end up with any further.
2. Depending on how your system is set up it can vary. So just do this to make to be sure. Move everything that was extracted to whatever directory has the fastboot executable ( fastboot exe)in it. Toolkit folder maybe ( I don't use those awful things so no idea where it puts things.). Or the platform tools folder in the SDK if that's installed.
3. Yes the phone needs to be in the bootlader. Once you're in the boot loader just click on the bat from within the folder with the fastboot.exe from step 2.
All this is assuming your computer has the proper drivers / working fastboot etc.
Still lost or can't figure it out, follow the flash factory images guide.
For me also a factoryreset from settings did the job.
Thnx for the help Guys!!
Cheers

Data encryption issue after cm13

Hi folks, first off English is not my main modus operandi so bear with me thx.
I tried out every room there is for the VNS-L31, CM13 from here, Revolution RC3 from a Spanish forum, Beanstalk and a few others what where more glorified reskins ... anyway before installing CM13 I made a full dump on TWRP but wile forgetting I wasn't on stock but on Revolution RC3, so I ended up with the wrong encryption key for the DATA folder, pardon me internal memory SD ... RRC3 is based on the European Stock B150 with a lot of tweaks, also a not perfect encryption of the internal SD similarly to CM13 problem with the SD.
Here is the main beef I am having, after getting of CM I tried to restore my dump and ended up ****ing up the encryption of the internal memory card. Now I can't got back to say the 161 internalional version and I am kinda bound to the European L31900B versions of the stock rom if I install anything else the accounts like Google or Facebook are not working and anything not installed already on the phone is FC.
I can't format data because of the encryption. Not under fastboot or any of the trwps, tried 3 different ones, I checkted the phone is not frp. I did lock frp and bootloader again and unlocked them so to double make sure I was right on that one. I tried going back to stock with the dload method but no dice data still locked. Delete accounts with root explorer and went back to vnsl31900b130 what seams to be the firmware that I am stuck on now with the ****ed up encryption ....
I am used to flashing stuff left and right but this is new land for me any help would be greatly appreciate ... And my warning DONT SCREW WITH TGE ENCRYPTION ON YOUR PHONE ... ITS A *****!!!!

Nope I deleted everything in TWRP, System, Cust, that is not a problem, the data partition on the other hand I can't format not I twrp, or by fastboot erase/format/-w commands ... Really annoying, never had an issue like this ... Funny that I can delete things with an root explorer under Android and that saving data works fine but the moment I leave the os it just closes up. Even the dump I made can't replace the data partition outside of the os

[Stock Rom] [Lenovo P2] [MM 6.0] [Deodexed_P2a42_S62_170117_ROW]

Move to: https://forum.xda-developers.com/lenovo-p2/development/stock-rom-nougat-7-0-t3590122
Deodexed mean everything reunified and put back inside apk and jar file.
Compare 1400mb stock rom, this rom only 800mb very small foot print, Deodexed_P2a42_S62_170117_ROW rom will take much less space in system file, result is reduce system file till 63℅ free space.
Features:
remove some bloadware,
added lenovo gallery,
added latest/update gapps,
added dolby atmos,
added root,
added xposed,
Always do backup rom first.
Flashing only with latest twrp-3.1.0-0, or above to avoid encryption problem and loosing data later, see in my another thread, https://forum.xda-developers.com/lenovo-p2/development/unofficial-twrp-3-0-2-0-p2a42-t3573308
Before flashing to wipe dalvik cache, system, data and cache,
change data system to ext4,
now install rom from zip file
Reboot to system, don't do anything just wait around 7-10 minute till appear.
Done!!!
See the different system running more faster, smooth, better benchmark result.
Bugs!!!!!!!! nothing, everything working as normal,
if any, only came from original firmware stock rom

Yes, if your rom came from stock rom, when finish flash restored from this backup rom just flash dalvic cache and cache you data will not go but it will take time around 10-15 minute to wait after reboot just be passion to wait
Sure I extracted the zip file, I have the folder containing the system, data etc. It's just not visible in the menu, I don't know why.

May be that's the case! I'm using the official 3.0.3.0
Working path in twrp 3.0.3 is /external_sd/TWRP/BECKUPS/folder Deodexed stock rom P2a42_S062_170117_ROW or /external_sd/TWRP/BECKUPS/any name folder/folder Deodexed stock rom P2a42_S062_170117_ROW
could it be ( i know this is a long shot ) because its a backup of another users phone that TWRP cant find it ?
Maybe it can only find backups that were created on your own phone
Ok finally sorted it out! it was indeed a path problem. I made a small backup of EFS to see where it will be saved. The directory was /sdcard/TWRP/BACKUPS/YOURPHONESERIALNUMBER/.
My serial was like this ZY2XXXXXXX. 10 digits. Initially I was placing the backup just in /sdcard/TWRP/BACKUPS.
I see you disabled the theme center, also can you do something with the icons as they look like from 90'.

Now I'll test the battery life on S062 compared to my stock S056. Do you have any issues with the battery, lasting less? Did you noticed they removed the fast charging, the phone is charging hell slow right now? It's good for the battery's health, because this insane fast charging will kill the battery internals noticeably faster.

Ive gone through about 7 roms and none were 100% working and I had a lot of trouble finding a way to get back to stock 21s for my X522. All the custom roms Ive tried either have a broken camera, missing cell broadcast, or hangouts wouldnt work on it when trying to make a call or use video chat. This is the only stable working rom Ive came across so far.

Try format data to remove encryption.
Is anyone else experiencing this? I know there is an issue with zoom being forced on when the phone is rooted. However my phone is randomly switching back and forth between zoom and normal by itself and it's most obvious in both chrome and Gmail where the text being a different size when I open it up. I've tried the build prop fix but it's still switching between both modes.

Phone stuck on 'Phone is starting...' screen

I am stuck on the 'Phone is starting...' screen. This is how I landed here
1. Added Finger Print Customizations when the phone was working and they did work as expected.
2. Noticed update from 9.0.10 to 9.0.10
3. Flashed stock 9.0.10 image over Bluespark and Magisk rooted image
4. Flashing stock 9.0.10 caused getting stuck in the 'Phone is starting...' screen
5. I can hear my phone ringing on this screen, but I cannot answer any calls since the phone is stuck forever on this screen
6. I tried flashing bluespark and magisk in the hopes of being able to boot, but that just cases my old boot screen to show up and then going back to restarting in a loop again
I believe OPSystemUI.apk (file that I replaced under /system/priv-app for getting custom finger print animation) is causing the issue. I do not know how to restore the stock version of this file without wiping all my data clean. I am not sure if this is the file causing the issue. Is there any way to get the phone started by flashing some files via adb?
Appreciate the inputs in advance.

I am getting this while trying to sideload apk
C:\Program Files (x86)\Minimal ADB and Fastboot>adb install launcher.apk
adb: connect error for write: closed
If you use bluespark TWRP then you're several weeks late, use officially working TWRP check in ROM section
Sideload the whole ROM to go back to normal, with temporary boot TWRP in fastboot mode

I have the 9.0.10 downloaded from here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-6t/how-to/official-oxygenos-9-0-4-ota-oneplus-6t-t3860953
I unzipped them found a .bin file. Is there any guide on extracting the binary files and flashing the entire rom via ADB?

Sorry for being so naive but I couldn't find any ROM that would have fastboot support. There is very less stuff for 6T to comb from.

Silly me, I was looking in the ROM section. I will use this and update the thread again
Hey! It worked. The phone is up and running now. Only thing is I lost all the data on the phone
Solution
Next time you face this issue in any ROM, you can do the following to come out of it. However, you would need to have a customised notification panel, which will allow you to go to settings and security option. Also, ensure you do not have a default launcher, if you have more than 1 launcher in your phone that you use.
Just long press any icon which leads to settings, or click on the settings icon from the notification bar.
It will open a blank settings page. Do a scroll up and down, and it will refresh.
Then go to security and privacy and delete the fingerprints.
You may also need to delete the security pin or swipe or the lock screen settings.
NOTE: Do not delete the locksettings.db from Recovery mode. It will break everything and the above steps might not help.
BTW, I am facing this issue for the last 3 days. Have been doing clean flash everytime. I was searching this issue on internet, but yours came up just now, and I read, FingerPrint, and it stuck me. Now it worked. Rebooting now. But posting the comment here in case I face any issues. Want to help you, as I know what the feeling is like. Frustrated and tired, wanting to kill someone.
Edit: Rebooted without any lock pin or FP. Shows phoe is starting, and starts in 2 seconds and allows access.
Will set a pin and check now.
Then will set one FP and check.
Edit2: Set pin lock and rebooted. Works okay..
