910 TWRP Update? - LG V20 Questions & Answers

Has there been an update to TWRP for the 910? Searched around but couldn't find anything. Not a big deal.. But always like being on the updated versions lol.

You can find it here but I switched back it caused me some issues while flashing because they changed the device flag from us996 to elsa so zips tell me that its for a us996 and my device is elsa

Sprint g935u & g935p Clarification

I tried all kinds of searches to avoid having to post this question and looking like a newb. Coming from the LG G3 ls990 where the variant was cut & dry, I'm having a hard time distinguishing between devices. Before my LG, I had a Galaxy s3, and it had a very clear model number too. Now I have the Sprint g935p, and I want to be sure I'm following development on my model. I can't understand why there would be discussions in the Sprint forum with different device names (g935u & g935p). How could that be?
Is it only the g935p that I should be fixed on for root methods and rom development? I've avoided rooting this thing for 3 whole weeks, but the ads and other annoyances are getting to me. I think if I do root it, I won't be greatly interested in flashing anything for a while. There don't appear to be too many options right now, anyway.
Thanks in advance.
935U is universal software for all galaxy S7Es, regardless of carrier or version.

Thanks. That makes sense. I remember the s3 had rom development that worked across all s3 variants. We never had this with the LG G3. Development had to be for, or include, the ls990 specifically. And there was only one ls990. No variations of it.

I'm not sure how you thought I might be a developer by the questions I asked. I'm the furthest thing from a developer. Were you being sarcastic? My head is still spinning by all the variants of the Edge. I come from the G3 that had separate development for each variant, and there was only one for Sprint that you followed. You just rooted, flashed twrp, and stuck to development for the ls990, all from your device.
Even with my Galaxy s3, I just rooted with towelroot and flashed everything from recovery. I guess Knox changed the game since then.

Nope. One year out from launch, and still rooting and flashing seems a mess. This so easy on my LG G3 only 4 months from its release.

Root for US Cellular V20?

Hi all. I have tried searching and looking through posts here but haven't been able to find anything specific for this.
I am thinking about upgrading to the V20 but the one thing holding me back right now is root.
I am not really interested in custom roms and don't really think I would need twrp. I would just be looking for stock but rooted.
I have seen several posts for the unlocked US996 and the mentions that they are not interchangeable, but nothing for the US Cellular version root yet. Has anyone tried root for it yet or know if it will ever be available?
Thanks.

Help me, please. Point me in the right direction (H918)

Okay, first off, I've looked around for guides but only found ones dated years back, so I'm sure if they are still relevant (I don't want to brick my phone).
All I'm trying to do is install TWRP on my phone, I've only gotten as far as unlocking the bootloader. Maybe I'll root it later but for now, I just want TWRP installed.
Someone please help (be newbie friendly?)

This one?
Yeah, that's the one I found originally, it looked super promising but I'm stuck at two spots that he doesn't really explain, like the following:
"You must have a version of laf that has the COPY opcode." -I have no idea what that is/means, or how to even check that.
"This is NOT a guide for flashing KDZs -- there are plenty of those out there -- search." -I've searched, really. I searched "Flash KDZ H918 10t" and only found guides for 10r and earlier, and then the one 10t guide I did find wanted to have my phone already rooted... which brings me back to square 1.
I might be asking for a lot here, but I figure someone out there can guide me.

So he did put a link to the KDZ you need. Later on I'll give a Dropbox file for LG up and uppercut. Not at my PC right now.

LGv20 US996 Root, Trying Dirty Santa, Now I am stuck at trying to configure LGUP

I've spent the past 3 days trying to root my LGv20 US996. Apparently I purchased one that isn't capable of being rooted by the official LG website. When going through the dirty santa hack, I just discovered that my phone has been patched and the hack no longer works. I've read that I can flash 12a using LGUP to then apply the hack.
Goodness this is complicated.
I can't seem to figure out how to configure LGUP or find the 12a firmware. Can anyone help? I am reading the guides for LGUP and when I load the program it asks for passwords, countries of origin, all sorts of stuff. Also I can't even seem to find the appropriate 12a firmware.

Best ROM at the moment? Old MegaROM user needs to update...

Hello!
I've had my V20 for ages, but I've been out of the XDA loop for a long time.
I'm still running the last version of MegaROM! My modem, etc are only slightly more recent than that.
What's the general consensus for the best ROM at the moment. The one caveat being that I need wifi calling. I'm in a semi-rural area, and wifi calling is often the only option when visiting friends who don't live right in town.
Have the bluetooth connection issues been ironed out in newer versions of the stock kernel?
Also, what's the state of rooting and bootloader unlocking for newer revisions of the h918? I remember for awhile there that newer versions of the h918 either couldn't be rooted or bootloader unlocked, I can't remember which. Did that ever get ironed out?
Thanks in advance. (Mods, please feel free to move this post if necessary.)
