Can anyone help me please , I have a SM-9005 locked onto 02 it says invalid sim card, The phone is rooted and I tried that regional lock away app it said all good, but it still wont accept my virgin sim.
I am downloading EE firmware now but I assume that wont remove the sim problem.
Is there a method to this, or am I goign to have to pay the $25 for the code.
Many Many Thanks
Anyone managed to unlock the note4 if so what service did you use.
Ok, so I purchased a used tmobile n900T which is no longer on a subscription. I want to put this phone on straight talk, this is what I have done so far:
1: Rooted using towel root
Attempted to unlock using the method explained here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2471742
I did everything exactly as explained in the directions, but when I boot up using the AT&T Straight talk card, it asks me for a sim unlock code....
I went to one of the sim unlock websites: cellunlocker.net and the instructions told me I had to have the note 3 on a tmobile plan before I can get the unlock code?
any suggestions? thank you for your help.
Any suggestions on what to do next? Any help would be apperciated.
I've successfully rooted but the unlock app just hangs, does anyone know if root breaks this? I need to SIM unlock the phone for travel tomorrow.
I have the SM-G930P with software version: G930PVPU2APC5, however I'm using a cricket sim card. I was able to get it sim unlocked via remote tether using onlineunlocks.com but I'd like to root it. I lost root when they unlocked it and I'm guessing the unlock only works with stock firmware. If any of you know whether I can still root it I'd really appreciate you chiming in on this.
Thanks!
The remote unlock I had done by gsmzambia.com hasn't been effected by rooting or flashing other firmware. I've switched back and forth between P, T and U firmware without losing my SIM unlock. I wasn't rooted at the time I had the unlock performed, but assuming that they use similar methods to do the unlock, they probably had to flash a custom Eng bootloader, which I'm guessing is what killed root for you. The only thing that's ever re-locked my phone has been putting my Boost SIM card back in it. Apparently, using any Sprint-based SIM card will re-lock a 930P.
Thanks!
Thanks! I rooted it and it's running great! Also in case anyone else sees this and had a similar question, I'm 100% positive that ApexPredatorBoids is right. It really is that nothing should undo your unlock, except putting a sim from the original carrier back in! I also performed I factory reset through recovery mode since I messed something up after rooting and it obviously again had no effect on the sim lock. I personally couldn't find a straight forward confident answer on this subject with my searches so this was really helpful.
What did you use to root?
