Hi,
I played a bit around with my Huawei P9 Lite, but I forgot to save my initial settings (originally it's a branded phone by 3 Austria). - Yes, my bad.
Now I'd like to go to back to the original firmware. I realised that I have firmware VNS-L21C900B161. - But my phone used to have C432, not C900.
What does C900 mean? Do I still get updates? How do I get a C432 firmware?
Sorry for those many questions, but I am desparate. I just want the correct Version for Europe (unbranded). - Also to get the update to Android Nougat.
Any help is appreciated.
Seth01
You must flash oeminfo C432 and then flash update.app...there are good tutorial in youtb.....
It worked, but... :/
Hi
thank you so much for your help. Now I have the European OEM C432 Version.
But if I (re)boot my smartphone now, it says , "Your device has failed verification and may not work properly." - But it does work properly and it also boots normally then.
How do I get rid of this message?
Greetings,
Seth

I am actually afraid to reflash. Will it then not become OEM version C900 again?
Can I flash via SD-Card with the dload folder, or do I need a tool? (I have downloaded and used the "VNS-L21-L22-L31 Toolkit.exe".)
Seth
Did you make factory reset before boot??
Yes, i did. And In the meantime the message is gone. So everything's fine so far.
But my bootloader is still open.
Any idea how to close? The message on reboot that the device can't be trusted, is rather annoying.
Seth
You got to relock.use the toolkit.....for me after downgrade that warning message about bootloader unlock is gone.but in fastboot my phone is unlocked...
Yeah, I'll try tomorrow. I tried to lock with the tool, but it crashed when I tried to.
Thank you to all of you for your help!

Nope. It will not become because you will flash the c432 version. That message you get is because you unlocked your bl. A simple relock or firmware flash via dload will solve your problem.

Hi so I'm on nougat and I have all those bugs, my version is L31 EUROPE and I have the right firmware file "UPDATE.APP"and is already on a folder called dload made by me on the SD card.
All I have to do now is turn off the phone and press the 3 buttons and the phone will have marshmellow?
well i think so. im not sure:d have you installed nougat via twrp?

Yh I use TWRP and when it booted the recovery changed to the normal one
So I installed the revolution mod ( nougat ) and my fingerprint sensor was not working so I installed the stock firmware and because there were no fingerprints saved on stock , I factory reseted the phone , then I installed the revolution rom again and it was working for few days but now it stopped working again ( sometimes it does not recognize it and sometimes it doesnt even vibrate Like i would not even have my finger on it )
To me that sounds like an hardware issue and therefore needs to be sent in for repair.
I don't think it's an hardware issue.. the ROM has some problem with some people, I suggest you to try stock ROM for a few days to verify if the problem is related to your device or the ROM.

To me it sounded he installed stock and it did not work there either.
Ofc if it works in stock it should be related to the custom ROM.

Well if you are on a Nougat build, you cannot just flash a MM update.app
You either need to flash an OEMinfo file first (old method) or use the official Huawei rollback method (new method).
If you did none of that, that might be the reason why your phone does not boot.

Well that is a problem.
You need to get that code it is your only option.
This can be done with the DC Unlocker but it will cost you a few bucks and you need to find a guide in here or somewhere else. Or you just figure it out yourself. I have never used it.
You can also try to get the code again by using the Huawei site but you need your IMEI and some other stuff. I guess some of it can be found on the packaging that your device came with...

I mean you might try to find a way to get the needed information with adb but I do not know how. Maybe a Google search can provide more info.
There are also several threads in here where people tried to recover the bootloader code from a bricked device.
Just make sure to SAVE it somewhere safe once you retrieve it

Normally you get it over the phone dialer but since you are in bootloop...
I don't know...
There are programs out there that generate the product ID but I have no clue if they work for this device.
Use the huawei site where you get the unlock code and you will find that the id is found by typing a code on the phone dialer.... there you will find what to type on the phone.

I can't access the phone
Hi
After searching both xda and official huawei site i finally found the rollback package for FRD-L09 and FRD-L19.
Method is:
1. Download rollback package (73,32 mb) and firmware (1,75gb) from: http://www.hihonor.com/uk/support/search-result/index.html?keywords=Honor 8#filter-section
2. Unzip rollback package and copy dload folder and Update.app to phone (dload/update.app)
Turn off phone, wait 10 sec.. Turn on phone by PRESSING BOTH (UP AND DOWN) VOLUME KEYS AND POWER KEY until emui screen, then release. The update installs automatically.
3. Delete "old/small" update.app from dload folder on phone
4. Unzip firmware and copy the update.app to dload folder on phone
Turn off phone, wait 10 sec.. Turn on by phone PRESSING BOTH (UP AND DOWN) VOLUME KEYS AND POWER KEY until emui screen, then release. The update installs automatically.
Now you have latest official Android 6.0
thank's
thank you, tomorrow morning i try
Did as you mentioned, but when I want to go back to MM the Updater says that the Package isn't available and stops at 12%. Could u pls help me.
I can confirm this works 100%. Followed the steps and I was back to Android 6. After setting up the phone I downloaded the OTA-update to 7.0. No problems at all, thank you very much for this small but very useful guide!!!
Hi guys,
I'm looking for a rollback method for the Asian model (FRD-L09C636) because a rollback package for this version doesn't seem to exist.
Has anyone tried to flash the MM firmware directly without the rollback package?
Thanks

I was able to downgrade my Malaysia version Honor 8 Nougat (FRD-L09C636B380) back to Marshmallow (FRD-L09C636B130) according to this thread:

The rollback package is probably usable for all FRD-L09 as I have done the downgrading.
This worked fine, thx very much

Probably downgrade. Looks like my camera hardware has died, fails on all custom roms and on restored emui5. So I need to return it.

Yes, that's what I did, I had a full TWRP backup of all partitions - restored them all, rebooted fine into the phone, but the camera had just disappeared, like it had been uninstalled. Used gallery to get to camera, and it fails to open.

Because it annoys me next to my bed, and if I'm in the car, and it's in the holder, I don;t want the led on all the time. LED=notification, not charging.

its trying to install updates now. got to 77% and hung.
charging LED not an issue in custom roms (LOS,RR etc), can be turned off.
I tried updating to Nougat and my phone is now bricked. None of the key combinations work on boot except for FASTBOOT&RESCUE MODE, and the phone won't power off, at all, just hangs on the logo when restarting. I flashed this ROM here thinking everything would be OK since it claims to be compataible with my phone but I might have flashed the data zip by mistake. I tried downgrading as seen here but that only made matters worse. Probably should mention that my phone is fully locked too.
Thoughts???

If I can flash stock ROM with FRP locked, how do I do that? I tried to with SRK Tool but it didn't detect my phone, and I have ADB driver installed along with HiSuite.
A little update: I decided to claim on the warranty and get it fixed. Hopefully not unlocking, rooting anything and trying to flash official firmware Huawei wont charge me, but I'm not holding my breath. So I will take this as a lesson learned that the P9 Lite is not a developer friendly phone; well, at least my version anyway.
Thanks for all the help.
How to flash stock ? Flash it via fastboot using cmd on windows . Open dload file ( update.app ) , unpack it with app which u can find on this forum and flash all img files via fastboot . I am not sure if it's gonna work on locked bootloader and frp lock but u Can try

Hi, last week I used FF to force download build MHA-L29 8.0.0.360(C10) on my MHA-L28C185B188 (I didn't know I would be in trouble)
After the update finished downloading it rebooted the phone, then was stuck on erecovery since then, I tried wipe cache / factory reset but still it didn't boot up.
I can't use fastboot method for flashing because the bootloader is locked, so is FRP.
I tried different UPDATE.APP files from Oreo MHA-L29 8.0.0.360(C185) using the up/down volume method but the update always fail at 5%
So for those of you who know about flashing, is my phone dead ?
Uhh I had the same question on my C185 and then I did not cheer for that compilation change. Rebrand to C10 did you try or can not you?

Try this one: http://androidhost.ru/KR
It should downgrade you back to C185B186 nougat.
Well, if you can do dload.
But dload does work for nougat, I've done it myself but I went flash oeminfo of AL00C00 then dload to B115. It worked fine for me.
yes this should help, because i think you need the original dload for c185 which only service centre has. But try this I hope it will help.

Hi, i had similar problem...download official firmware from here forum.xda-developers.com/mate-9/development/rom-service-roms-t3693545
Then put the firmware on a blank formatted sd card 8g or more, power off mate 9 device, insert sd card, then hold vol up and down and power keys until you see emui update screen, this procedure forces the phone to boot up from the sd card. this put everything back to stock and works perfect now.
Phone bricked dead. Plz close thread.
