Hello. I am new having just bought a Galaxy Note. ICS was released in New Zealand yesterday and I Installed it. Now the live wallpaper picker is crashing the phone leaving me with a blank screen and message saying the live wall paper picker is not working. How do I fix this please? How to I roll back to Gingerbread, or reinstal ICS?
I too have installed ics on my device and now m facing lots of problems. Just to start with my WHATSApp is not loading contacts.
It takes time to open camera.
Phone stops responding while reading emails.
Keyboard input problems
Please some one do help us.
Is there any way to again go back to my 2.3.6.
One mo thing face detection and other features are disabled by Samsung in his ics update.

You would have to use PC Odin to roll back to stock Gingerbread. Look up Drketan's thread in Android Development (it's stickied). It will give you step by step details.
I had the same problems too....but did a soft reset....now is crashing much less
ICS is smoother than GB on my note.
Experienced same issues like yours. But after Factory reset /data wipe everything is running fine...
Sharing My experience only... I AM NOT RECOMMENDING IT.
Problem fixed
I did a hard reset on the phone which made no difference. I also did a soft reset which also did not help. So I uninstalled all of the live wallpapers which fixed the problem. I have reinstalled a few but not nearly as many as I originally had. All is well now. I guess some of the free LWP were a bit flakey? However, the problem only appeared under ICS, and my wife's identical phone has many more installed but still running GB. She has no problems at all, and so far is refusing to upgrade to ICS.
After upgrade to ISC..I do factory reset first..its reduce the laggy.. .. now my device work fine. ISC > GB now.
I think by using Titanium back up to disable programs helps to free up a lot of memory which makes it not laggy
My Nexus 6p was extremely responsive and fast before this security update. Now every once in awhile there will be extreme multitask lag when I hit the button inside an app it takes a good second or 2 for the app to shrink into the multitask menu. Then scrolling is smooth and so is swiping away but opening apps from that menu also takes a few seconds. And this whole problem lasts for about 10min. Anyone else have this problem? I flashed elementalx kernel and it fixed everything for the time being. But I'm upset I had to do this on a device well known for being buttery smooth. Could it be a stock kernel problem considering flashing a new one fixed it? I tried everything before that like clearing cache, reset, reboots, none of those deemed results the lag still occurred sometimes.
While I can't say it was right after the update. I've noticed some lagging big time also. Seems to happen mostly with Waze and Next SMS by Handcart
I enrolled to beta programa like 3 weeks ago and everything was just fine, but yesterday after some apps updated the phone started freezing a lot, all the apps started crashing especially WhatsApp and Instagram, when I unlock the phone it takes like 5 seconds, also a lot of times when I go to the home screen after writing something, the keyboard stays on screen and it doesnt hides, I dont know what is happening, if someone could help me I would thank it a lot.

Don't mean to scare you, but that is exactly what was happening to me right before going into an unrecoverable bootloop. Nothing I tried revived the device, although there have been some that have been able to. I ended up RMA'ing my device as nothing I did brought it back to life. You might be in a different situation but just giving you a heads up.
*Bump*
Stock 7.1.1 and rooted here. I've been on the official 7.1.1 release for our 6P's since early December, and for the past week or so, I've been experiencing freezing as well. I'd be in the middle of typing in Hangouts, streaming music in the car via bluetooth and Spotify, or just waking the phone up from sleep. For the past few days, I've been getting 3-4 freezes per day.
On rare occasions, I've left the phone alone to settle, and it returns to normal, but more times than not, a hard reset is the only 'fix'; until the next freeze.
I reluctantly wiped the phone, unrooted, flashed stock 7.1.1 and re-rooted all via NRT last night. The phone froze again this morning coming off the charger...
Granted, it decided to restore 528mb's worth of WhatsApp history as soon as I unplugged it (why it didn't restore on charger overnight is beyond me though). Will update if it freezes again.
The phone runs butter smooth with zero issues other than these freezing occurrences though. MO, the 6P is the best all-rounded phone currently available, even if it's a year old already.
Appreciate any help or suggestions!!
That's odd try ex kernel and over clock or try HEBF manager on play store
Quick update. Couldn't bear the multiple freezes per day, so I called Google to ask for help. Apparently I've done everything I can on my end (including a factory reset and updating to the latest firmware), so they sent out a replacement 6P to me free of charge. They'll also be covering the courier/shipping costs for my old 6P too. Fantastic customer service. Kudos to them!! I called them Tuesday morning (20th Dec) Australian time, and received my replacement 6P Friday afternoon (23rd Dec). Very quick indeed
Half a day after setting up my replacement 6P, including updating to 7.1.1, I started getting the same symptoms as my old 6P. Freezing, unresponsiveness, etc. Persisted for another day and had enough. I've since done a full wipe and downgraded back to the final 6.0.1 release, and it's been stable as a rock for 3 days now. No freezes, lagginess, nothing.
So I deduce it might actually be a software issue with 7.1.1, and not a hardware problem. It appears a growing number of Pixel and Pixel XL users are also experiencing random freezes on their new phones running 7.1.1 too...
Looks like I'll stick with 6.0.1 until Google makes a formal announcement and something is done about 7.1.1. I've missed Xposed and GravityBox too, so 6.0.1 is all good. Most importantly, it's stable
Had you ever tried booting into safe mode to see if maybe an app was causing the issue? Maybe a compatibility issue between an installed app(s) and 7.1.1

Thanks for the pro tip. I did consider doing that with the replacement 6P, but the only apps that I had installed were the stock Google ones that came with 7.1.1, WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and SwiftKey. I just assumed if such popular apps were the cause, a lot more people would have pinpointed them as the problem?
I did however read a few users claiming SwiftKey to be the culprit prior to RMA'ing my old device, but even after uninstalling that from my old phone, I was still getting the freezing issues.
Just bought a Ze552kl off Amazon for a pretty sweet price of ₹16,725 (£191.14/$256.16) couple of days ago.
Though it was running Nougat 7.0 right out of the box, there were some minor UI bugs like on pulling down the notification panel it'd sometimes get stuck and the only way out would be to get to the home screen.
An update fixed that, but scrolling lag still persisted.
To rule out hardware issues I performed touch tests and though it managed to pass, it was difficult. I had to run it multiple times because it involved user input. It requires you to trace the boundaries of four shaded areas which are quite slim.
(Factory reset didn't seem to make a difference either)
I then tried a couple of touch calibration apps which brought noticeable improvements but it's still not enough.
So did I receive a faulty set or is it some software issue ?
Are you on the latest version of the ASUS ROM? I have a slightly different model than you, but I found the initial Nougat update to be very slow and buggy. Subsequent updates seems to have fixed most issues...
I guess, yeah, because I haven't received any more updates post the latest one mentioned on their website.
I really don't have any issues with this ROM except for the not-so-great touch response. It is a bit laggy, but that's all.
EDIT: Oh, and the Firmware is WW-14.2020.1708.56
I recently bought the blue colour version of azmpm1, and as usual it was having the same multi touch bug and below average front camera, then I checked for updates and first it downloaded around 560mb update and after installing it I again checked for updates and it installed the latest 19/09 update, so my phone updated only twice but now even if I'm on latest firmware the previous bugs like multi touch and poor camera performance are still present, I compared to my friend's phone who bought the phone very early and has got each and every update, it's like my phone skipped the updates in between where those bugs were fixed, I need help if anyone knows about it.
