ODIN don't flash well the system - Samsung Galaxy J5 Questions & Answers

Hi,
When I flash the Stock ROM downloaded from Sammobile, I flash that and everything it's ok, but when it boots, it's appear the SystemUI and the theme of my previous Custom ROM (based on Stock), but the sound of notification are the Stock ones. (Obviously) the SystemUI does FC and I can't use my phone. I don't now what I'm doing wrong.
Please, help me.
Thank you in advance.

After the stock rom is flashed, perform factory data reset from the recovery.

Something is wrong with my phone, because now I can't flash the TWRP, the problem it's the same, but boots the stock recovery. I don't understand, when the last month I flash the same TWRP with no problems and in the same mode...

If the theme that was on your custom rom was official from samsung themes then it restored after you intalled stock. Because you installed stock rom, have you enabled oem unlock from dev. settings before installing custom rec through odin? And do a factory reset.

Check the os version before flashing and make sure it is for your model only

If you want to install twrp recovery you should unlick Auto reboot in Odin then turn off your phone after you flashed the recovery and then press vol up + home + power button together to go to recovery mode.

If boot loop happen after u flash the kernel than u flashed the wrong 1. Need to match with the firmware u're using. Try other custom kernel for 4.3. If u really planning to flash the whole rom then there is no need for custom kernel

Accidentally wiped data....T_T

Hi all, so I got this nice S4 i9505 (telstra unlocked).
after a week I thought I'd try install pacman rom.
I installed openrecovery-twrp-2.5.0.1-jfltexx.tar
I wiped all caches, system, data, and than the fatal mistake, I wiped the WRONG data...... now I have nothing on my phone.
It wasn't rooted, I've lost everything, I need to get I9505XXUEMJ5 (stock) and flash it back on, and start again.
I tried CF-Auto-Root-jflte-jfltexx-gti9505.zip
than openrecovery-twrp-2.5.0.1-jfltexx.tar
right now I have twrp on there, and not much else.
basically, I've wiped the data and now i need to reinstall stock. than start again flashing pacman.
how can I get out of this situation?
I can't find I9505XXUEMJ5 ANYWHERE with a reliable download, the one I've got is 10KB/s and will take 30HOURS to download T_T T_T T_T I need help....
thanks in advance :3
I need my phone T_T it's brand new.
I'm assuming I9505XXUEMJ5 is the right firmware to flash on it, and that I don't need any extra modem or anything to flash?
to flash pacman rom I just need to install copy rom to phone after stock rom is on, reboot into twrp and flash rom??
what about root?
when I try install CWM-SuperSU-v0.99.zip from TWRP it works, but when I booted into the telstra firmware it said SuperSu crashed straight away.

You can get the telstra rom from sammobile.com (the latest is ND1), but it will probably have the knox bootloader crap on it. As long as you have trwp installed and running, you can install any custom rom from that, root will be done by the custom rom, you don't need to root first and you will find most custom roms will have superuser installed as well.
I have a telstra S4, but I am running Echoe rom v29, when installing it gives you the option to wipe cache and things.

So you cant boot your phone at all? If not you will have to go to telstra or samsung and get them to fix it.
I am wondering if you need a pit file to also flash in odin, you can get a i9505 pit file from this site.
With trwp the latest is 2.7.1.0.

I'm trying this;
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2594483
I'm going to try install I9505XXUEND1 through TWRP.
Got from sammobile
From what I read flashing stock should fix the problem.
I dont think you can flash that through recovery, you will have to use odin.

Yeah I need to use odin. no problem.
Downloading stock rom now, will take an hour with the slow option on sammobile.
The stock rom I downloaded from some random place that took 30hours!!!!!!!!!! didn't work so I hope this stock one works.
I'll let you all know how it goes.
You will have to install the custom recovery again, but after that flash away!

[Q] Custom Recovery Doesn't Work Anymore

Hello,
I've rooted my own note 3 and flashed Temaseks unofficial cm 12 rom. Everything works perfect so I decided to do the same thing for my father. It all went well, first I rooted his phone, then I flashed CWM and flashed cm 12 by temasek. The rom works fine but I forget to install the Gapps. So I tried to install Gapps but I got an error "Failure Status 6". I googled on that error and someone told it has to do something with CWM. I tried to flash a different version of CWM but now I can't reboot into recovery mode anymore. So I can't flash anything.
I flashed another version of CWM but this one also doesn't work. Whenever I try to boot the phone into recovery mode, the blue line shows up. Rebooting into recovery mode, but after a few secs, the phone just boots the normal way. Is there anyone that can help me to get CWM back to work? In the mean time I'll try to flash TWRP by Odin.
Thanks in advance!
So I flashed latest version of CWM: Buildversion; 6.13.0, CWM Base Version V6.0.4.7. I can reboot into recovery now but still can't install Google Apps due to failure status 6. On my own Phone I run a different version of CWM, but when I try to flash it, the phone won't boot into recovery mode anymore. It only boots into recovery when I flash this V6.0.4.7 . How can I get rid of this version and flash an older version of CWM?
You'll probably have to Odin back to stock and start over...

You mean If there is no other way to get the Google Apps on the phone, I have to go back to stock. I did make a backup with CWM on the while it was running custom firmware. Now I have 4 files on my comuter, 3.tar and 1.md5 . If I recover them, I will still have this not working CWM version on my phone right? Isn't there a easier way to delete CWM, can I flash TWRP over CWM and see if it will install these Gapps?
Yeah, you should be able to flash TWRP over it. TWRP is much better anyway, in my opinion. Once you get the recovery issue sorted, I really wouldn't't recommend trying to flash just the gapps. It would probably work, but it's also quite likely to cause some weird issues. It's always best to flash gapps immediately after flashing a ROM, without leaving recovery.
I would flash TWRP, wipe everything but your internal SD, re-flash the ROM, flash the gapps, and everything should be cherry.
Edit: here is the link to download TWRP.

I appreciate your effort, thank you. The recovery issue is solved. I flashed Chainfires Root script and that installed the stock recovery. However, when I tried to install and older CWM version I got back in the recovery reboot cycle. But once I installed the latest CWM it booted in recovery. So I flashed Chainfires Root once again and had the stock recovery back. From there on I tried to install TWRP but got the recovery boot cycle again. My phone is now running android 5.0.2 and I think that's the problem.... :S I'll try again to flash Chainfires Root script to get the stock recovery back. From there on I will try to flash the link you gave to me with Odin and hope that will fix it. Do you have any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?
Your version of TWRP works so far. It reboots into RecoveryMode. Now I'll wipe and try to install Temaseks Cm 12 followed by Gapps! Thanks so far!
Okay, it's solved. Can't thank you enough for you help. Bless you!!
No problem. Glad you got it figured out!

TWRP not booting system

I tried to factory reset a custom ROM, got sent to TWRP then I can't reboot to system from there. Tried a clean install but to no avail. I've looked around on the internet and I think I have to reinstall stock ROM and then reinstall custom recovery and ROM, except if I were to install the stock ROM once again (with sp tools) I need my phone to be turned off, not in recovery mode. So how exactly should I proceed now?
EDIT: Managed to get rid of the TWRP bootloop by restoring from a stock nandroid I've found on the forums, coupled with flashing a stock recovery image using TWRP. Reunlocked bootloader, flashed TWRP all over again and then flashed custom ROM and Gapps. Everything running fine now.
Mods feel free to delete this post since it's solved itself, or leave it in case anyone needed help concerning the same issue, up to you.

can you put a link where you find the stock recovery, cos i've restore stock recovery on twrp but my device keep booting to twrp

How do i install teamwin ?

I have a i9000 and i would like to install twrp so i can install a 7.0 rom but i dont know how to install twrp can someone tell me how?
I would also like to know this as well. I've tried CWM through odn but it's a zip so wont flash. I've tried it in stock recovery but obviously get the signature fail msg.
TWRP comes with the kernel and hence the ROM.
It gets automatically installed if you're on older BML/MTD device..
In which case you should have rebooted after acceptign wipe..
Ahh right, so I flash a new kernel to it and that comes with the recovery built in.
Do I flash the kernel from odin or stock recovery. Got the stuff to unbrick the phone if that happens, just wanted to know the right way before flashing stock rom back and starting again.

The kernel is flashed by the ROM zip... I dont remember if it automatically reboots to recovery or not..
However it does create a file in cache that makes it boot to recovery.. Since the /system is not yet installed.
You should flash the ROM after it boots to new recovery.. then install the zip file again..
All this is described in https://github.com/xc-racer99/android_device_samsung_aries-common/blob/aosp-7.1/updater.sh
I got there in the end.
I flashed CF-Root-XX_OXA_JW4-v4.4-CWM3RFS.tar with odin, then installed cm-10.2.0-galaxysmtd.zip which also updated my older CWM. It had a spam, so I wiped/factory/dalvik etc from the updated CWM and then reinstalled cm-10.2.0-galaxysmtd.zip - now running the rom just fine.
Will be trying out some more over next few days now I have a nandroid of CM10.
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
