【Release Notes】
Software update to Android 6.0 Mashmallow. Internal storage will decrease slightly after update, it is recommended back up data and relocate media files (pictures & vides) to SD card to reserve enough storage before starting the software update.
Android Marshmallow won't support APP2SD. Please move apps to internal storage before system upgrades.
Multi-user function won't be supported if the account is deleted. Please keep your account to continue usage.
The apps listed below will no longer be pre-loadeded once your device has been upgraded to Android 6.0 (Marshmallow).

It is still possible to get fota via rooted stock rom. You just have to full unroot or edit some file in that ota.zip before flashing it.

You can get this at /data/data/com.asus.dm/files/tree.xml on your phone.
I wish they can implement Vulkan API support on the upcoming public release.

New unofficial roms from audahadi already exist. I do not know if the bugs were corrected but here I put the link of its official website of downloads :

If u have not modified ur system partition then just flash stock boot.img (rooting modifies boot.img) comment out the updater-script as shown in attachment. (Quite complicated )
My Method
Easy method
Flash a recovery flashable base rom (I've miui 9.0.1.0) in TWRP. this does not require updater-script edit
Then flash OTA updates with modified updater script
Refer attachment for the lines to be commented

China Stable Rom is latest MIUI 9 rom V9.2.2.0.NDDCNEK.
I found it in MIUI server.
My phone isn't installed with it yet. Still waiting V9.2.2.0.NDDMIEK.

possible if you are having TWRP recovery.
Edit: still possible with stock recovery using fastboot rom. but you will loose all your data
