Basically I'd like to use the watch keyboard and its great word prediction / flow for Romanian, but it doesn't have it. Which is weird because the phone Gboard app supports it.
Any way to "hack" its way onto my watch? Or is there any alternative keyboard that supports Romanian as well as round screens?

Hi everyone,
I am sorry but I am not a dev at all, but I was wondering if anyone can dev a keyboard layout switch...
I have checked many post and if I am not getting it wrong, you have to go to "setting>local ..." to change the keyboard layout and T9 dictionnaries.
My point is, as a french, english, chinese keyboard users, I have to frequently change my keybaord layout. So I was wondering if anyone can compilate a mix of the following applications (can be founded on market) :
-apowersms (if you go to setting, there is a language filter, which is very interesting because you can choose which language keyboard you need) (and the keyboard layout isn't so bad looking)
- softkeyboard (for the keyboard button, when you press it long, you can directly change to the language you want)
I have also haykuro Hero Rom, as you can see in the following video, there's tool and keyboard button, maybe we can use this as a base....

I would be happy to help in developing this, but i don't know how
no one interested by this?
I always configure the UI of my mobile phones with english. But I write sms/emails in French, German, English & Spanish. Android does not seem to offer the possibility to quickly change the input language of the keyboard. It looks like UI language both determines keyboard layout and input language, which is EXTREMELY inconvenient for someone using several languages on a daily basis.
Does it exist a workaround, an external app or a feature I oversaw to solve this major drawback? Keyboard layout and input language should be configurable both independently from UI language.
Thanks for the help

I have the same question, for somebody that uses different languages on a daily basis it really is extremely inconvenient...
Any solution for this or would this be worth developing $$$
I have this problem as well.. I want to be able to switch between English and Dutch input.
My old sony ericsson's (W910, W580, W300) could do this by long pressing * or #, don't remember which key
I've got the same issue. So still nothing on this? I've been looking everywhere, haven't found a solution besides: switch language UI.
So Im not the only one? And I thought I was special. Oh well, Im having the same issue too and its a real pain in the arss.
Moving to General because:
OP ended the original post with a question.
Has nothing to do with the development of ROMs.
I had the same problem and found a keyboard replacement on the market: AnySoftKeyboard. That keyboard comes with different downloadable dictionaries and you can change layout and dictionary on the fly.
The layout is not always well done (e.g. delete key to small for the german layout) but works well enough for me.
Search for a modified HTC_IME which I found here on XDA, it suits this need perfectly. You can choose the subset of the supported languages you want to use, and cycle betweenthem with a gesture (I chose swipe up, but it's configurable).

Hi,
I use Samsung Keyboard with two input languages - English (US) and Czech. Problem is that the Czech language has qwertz layout which doesn't fit me, but I need to write Czech characters sometimes. Is there a way how to change Czech layout to qwerty? My GT 7.7 is rooted so I could possibly edit any config file if it was necessary.
Thanks.
Try hackers keyboard. You can download from the market. You'll have to install both language packs and adjust some settings, but it's my favorite keyboard. I primarily type in portrait mode.

Thanks, it looks really great. Mainly special characters typing without switching keyboard between letters and special characters mode And QWERTY layout is exactly what I need.
The only thing I don't understand is why does the keyboard try to read my contact list? Does it steal my contacts or something like that? I use LBE Privacy Guard so I denied access to my contact list.
that's in the keyboard settings menu, would have to dig around and see, but I'm glad you like it! I set the keyboard labeling to 50% and you can check what all you want the suggestir to pull feom. I like it having access to my contacts personally.

I'm using the Samsung keyboard on my Note 4 with two languages enabled (English and German)
Sadly the autocorrect and word learning seems to unified which means that when I write in English (with the English language selected on the space bar ) I still get many german word offered by autocorrect.
Also learnt words seem to be stored in only one dictionary; not a pet-language one
But many words are similar (in terms of swiping path etc) between the two languages so that autocorrect's offerings are often useless. (Bettet instead of better)
The same applies for the handwriting input as that seems to be part of the same keyboard implementation. ..
I'd like it much better if it only used the selected language for word suggestions and kept separate dictionaries for leant words. .I can live with having to store some entries (like names etc) twice if I must
So is there a way to accomplish that?
Or is there a replacement keyboard that works as well with handwriting and swiping but which has separate dictionaries etc?
Try another keyboard maybe?
Right. Suggestions?
Is there a way to add other languages to keyboard or replace the stock keyboard to another keyboard that supports other languages?
