Guys, i have a question.
I have Moto G4 plus XT1644 US Variant. But i dont know the exact number, Can anybody tell me the risk if im not flashing the right number ?
For example, i found this 4
- XT1644_ATHENE_RETUS_MPJ24.139-48_cid50_subsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-XT1644_CFC.xml.zip
- XT1625-XT1644_ATHENE-RETUS_MPJ24.139-49_cid50_subsidy-DEFAULT_CFC.xml.zip
- XT1625-XT1644_ATHENE-RETUS_MPJ24.139-48_cid50_subsidy-DEFAULT_CFC.xml.zip
- XT1625-XT1644_ATHENE_RETUS_MPJ24.139-64_cid50_subsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC.xml.zip
If my phone is MPJ24.139-64 and im flashing the MPJ24.139-48. Can it work ? what is the risk ? and the difference between those number ?
And i also found NPJ24 build number. what is the difference ? im pretty sure my device is MPJ24 not NPJ24.

Hello guys, I just wanted to know if I can install a firmware of another region on my note 4
for example: Installing N910C firmware on N910U model number
Please help
It's impossible.
Are you serious?
It would be much better if people knew where to post threads like this...also I don't think you can do that.
Its not possible to flash between model numbers, however its possible to flash firmware from another region... As long as its the same model number.
I know you can flash C on H as long as you remove the modem file first.
My phone's model number shows as SM-G900FQ. Is it possible to install a custom rom on this one?
SM-G900FQ is the model number for the devices sold in Turkey and SM-G900F is the model number for the devices sold in Europe. They may be identical in hardware but I'm not sure of course. Just a guess.
All I want is to update my phone to 5.1 (currently 5.0 - official) so any official leak or something like that would also do (even better this way).
Thanks in advance.
Hi,
I bought a Galaxy S5 phone (model sm-G900J aka SCL23) in ISRAEL.
When I bought it here in ISRAEL i was able to make calls and everything was fine. It Has Kitkat 4.4 on it.
I've decided to root and upgrade to LP... (did not make any backup for the rom I had... I knew... stupid, stupid, stupid!)
I've used the official LP build from SAMSUNG and found out that I can't make any calls.
Tried SpaceX 4.2. same result.
I think the problem is related to my MEID/IMEI number...
The printed number on my phone is an IMEI number with 15 digits but when I retrieve my real reported number (with *#06#) i get a MEID number (14 digits) - which works with CDMA networks
The IMEI and MEID are the same except that the IMEI has an extra digit.
I currently have TWRP recovery on my phone and it is rooted.
Any ideas how to approach this?
Thanks in advance.

I read something about this Japanese beer of the S5 here: [TUTORIAL] Unlock SIM for au/KDDI Galaxy S5 SCL23 by Harrison Taylor
Maybe it works for Israel mobile networks too.
If not, search for an official stock firmware for your exact device and your region. Flashing this should also fix the issue.
For additional help or if you have further questions, best to ask in the [SUPPORT THREAD] The Galaxy ~S5~ All in one support thread!**NOOB FRIENDLY** by Ricky Divjakovski.
Good luck!

Before you do ANYTHING else, you need to make a backup of your efs folder (contains IMEI number and other critical information)......If you damage this during flash attempts, you are in a 'whole world of hurt' which is near impossible to resolve......

Hi this week I got a Note3 as a gift but I can't figure if its a verzion or not because the back of device its Samsung SM-N900 although the about device menu show its N900V
also when I go to download mode its say it N900P.
also when I checked the Imei on IMEI.info the website show its n9005
I need help please cuz I'm so confused if it original or not
and I can't know how to update it. the device run android 4.4.2 and I hope to update it for 4.4.4 or 5 .
If the phone is rooted then all of the information under "about phone" can be modified by editing the build.prop file. If there is still a sticker under the battery you can check there for the model number. If you boot into recovery then it shows the current build at the top. If the build starts with N900V then the OS is Verizon.
thank you for answer ... the sticker show its N900
but the download mode show its N900P
I test the device hardware by mobile info app and antutu benchmark
the resualt was my device have snapdragon MSM8974 (32bit) with adreno330 GPU
and hardware revision N900P.12
and score at antutu is 43K
so what is my real type of device and which stock 4.4.4 rom I can use
thank you for any help and excuse my bad english
N900P is Sprint

The phone can't be sprint if it has a SIM. No one is going to be able to offer any help without physically checking the phone. It sounds like it has been modified which means it's rooted. If you update to 4.4.4 or 5.0 then you'll loose root and any modifications. You should probably leave it as it is.
My friend attempted to sell his Samsung Galaxy S8 on Ebay. The guy bought it, told Ebay it didnt work, STOLE the IMEI and attempted to flash it. He half new what he was doing. He got his money backand my friend got a S* that he just dont want due to the headaches he has had over it all ready. I got it and this is the info on it now.

It currently has a combo ROM installed with no back up and I have no knowledge of what is the correct ROM it needs.
If some one can steer me in the right direction?
So I can use the limited functions on this ROM and I do have USB debugging enabled and Unknown Sources enabled.

Any g950u firmware that is revision 4 or higher. The 5th digit from far end is revision. Which will be a Oreo firmware. Root is not possible and that revision.
All the firm's are the same the CSC file in the firmware download determine the carrier. Updateo.com or Sam mobile. Com will have the needed firmware to get you up and running
The only question I have is what if whomever did this had flashed the wrong ROM to begin with? I would be flashing it based on a incorrect ROM as this is where the reading of the digits like a cars VIN number comes in to play? So if someone put a different tag on it, the wrong one, and I flash it based on that, I could potentially not only hard-brick it, but also short out circuity on the motherboard right? If what I stated is true, then how could I go about getting the stock info for this phone? Samsung possibly? And If im wrong, sorry im just being cautious as this is a pretty expensive phone, even for a messed up one I seen them go for a lot on Ebay, and way higher if unlocked and Rooted.

Can't be rooted revision 2 and down. The imei is cert cpid based. Not easily changeable at random. Their are imei services that can do it. Bassicly what I said is how it is. These locked bootloader prevent any major flashing with Odin. As in you can't hard brick with firmware and Odin unless say a power outage when writing the bootloader. The cpid is done by server so it is unique to each device. He could not have just taken the efs. it does not even lie in the efs. It's all in a partition called proc. Even if I where to dump your imei I could not flash it to my device due to this security feature which is implented. The imei cert would fail and I would have absolutely no signal
OK thanks!
