Can I use SM G360H roms on SM G360T1? - Samsung Galaxy Core Prime Questions & Answers

I have noticed that a majority of all the roms belong to SM G360H variants, why is that. Does it matter if the phone is SM G360T1 when flashing a G360H rom that much. Finally, since all the phones are a Galaxy Core Prime variant, with little differences among all, the same processer architecture, and the same amount of ram, they all should work, right?

No it won't work. Yeah we almost have the same specs, but it's not identical. Come to think of it why would Samsung gave us different Model numbers if we have identical devices right?

[Q] Question about S4/ S5 ROMs

This may be a stupid question, but I'm a newly converted Apple-Android would-be developer so I apologize in advance if the answer is obvious.. I was looking at the processors for the S4 and the S5 and they're both Qualcomm Snapdragons, but just different models. Based on that, it seems they should be able to run the same ROMs (at least the S5 should be able to run S4 ROMs) but from what I've seen they don't seem interchangeable. So my question is, can my GS5 run a ROM developed for the S4 or is there something deeper than just the processor model that determines the kind of ROM that can be run on it?

No, different cpu, gpu, bootloader. It could maybe be ported to the S5 but you can`t flash a original S4 rom on a S5 or vice versa.

Thanks. I'm used to there being a standard on hardware for PCs whereas I guess there isn't one for Android phones. It just seemed odd to me that ROMs have to be rewritten or ported for every particular phone.

sm-G900F vs sm-G900FQ

Hi Guys,
I am "desperately" looking for some info/support regarding my galaxy S5.
I own a phone model SM-G900FQ which is a variant of the european SM-G900F but sold on the Turkish market.
I did some research, and I don't see any major difference between the F and FQ versions.
I am not Turkish, I don't speak Turkish and I don't live in Turkey. I would really love to flash my cellphone with a custom ROM but I am really unsure of what roms would be supported for this device.
Could someone help me identify what kind of ROM versions are compatible? I check the unified development area, but I can't tell if this phone is a kletmo or klte or something else.
I would love to install CM12 on this cell phone
i am not %100 sure, but i know that they are both exactly the same phones. g900fq and g900f have got same specification. They both have got 2 gb ram, snapdragon 801AC and adreno 330. their name are different only and it's just for marketting in my opinion

Yes, they seem to be exactly identical so I was hoping that I could use ROMs designed for the g900f on this phone.
It really feels like I am one of the only owners of this model on earth. So difficult to find information or guidance ^^
Just wanted to come and update this topic.
I flashed successfuly my galaxy S5 with the cyanogenmod rom compatible with the SM-G900F.
It is no longer regognized as SM-G900FQ
Just in case someone in my situation is wondering

Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime G530T Custom Rom?

I see custom roms for different model numbers of this phone.. Would these roms also work for my metro g530T?
Anyone?
I'm pretty sure the metro version is G530T1 right? Because I have the t-mobile variant which is G530T
Damn, it actually is, all of that aside though. Too many key differences for this device to use said existing roms?

Buying the SM-N910G, what should I expect?

Hi everyone;
I'm buying the N910G from a friend of mine and I've just noticed that this device specifically is not supported by any of the ROMS I've come across and liked so far. With the Note 2 it didn't really matter that much, I installed AT&T ROMS on my N7105 and they worked perfectly fine all the time. I don't know about the process here, do Snapdragon ROMS work on Exynos based phones? Do Exynos ROMS that don't support the N910G work on the N910G?
Worst case scenario with the Note 2 when I soft-bricked it I would just plug it into the PC and use Odin to flash the official ROM for my phone and it'll fix any issues, then I'd auto-root it, install recovery, and go back to doing what I was doing.
Anyway, if anyone can help me out here, that would be great. What ROMS can I actually install on it? What are the worrying things I should be avoiding? etc...

Are you crazy , n910g has a good development .
The most supported device is n910f , and n910f roms can be used on n910g .
Exynos roms are limited and you won't see any nougat rom on exynos devices , n910g is snapdragon, if you like roms from exynos development, trust me snapdragon roms are better , the snapdragon community is 20 times larger than exynos community .
Snapdragon Is open source.
Go search something on Google .
Infact the latest note 7 ported roms are made on n910g base .
N910g is best.
On top of that , The renowned issue of note 4 "emmc failure" , has been fixed for n910g .
There is a debrick.img made by me, which can recover your phone even if it is completely unresponsive.
This device is best . Dont even consider any other variant , if your purpose is to flash toms .
It is well supported.

+1 this reply.
I have n910p, and even use G and F roms with some fixes.
You can't go wrong with snapdragon. You can almost flash all the roms for snapdragon version. But you don't want to try to flash any exynos roms.
Damn! I have been roaming the Exynos section of the forum this whole time thinking it has an exynos chip as the guy I am buying from said it's exynos. And I was wondering how come it has no support and there is no roms for it. I am so glad it's the snapdragon edition. Thanks guys, I'll go check the snapdragon sub-section now!

Difference between SM-G361H and SM-G361F

Can someone tell me the difference between Samsung G361H and G361F.
I have a Samsung Galaxy Core Prime SM-G361F and I wonder if I can install a costom rom made for SM-G361H.
If not I'd like to know why.
Thank You!

The difference between the two phone models (in my knowledge) is that they are two different models of the same 'branch' of phones.

I'm afraid that's not possible. You should NEVER EVER install firmwares designed for a different phone. It could lead to a simple soft brick or a hardware misconfiguration that could render the phone broken at a hardware level.
If not I'd like to know why.

They are two different models of the same branch of phone, so no.
Unfortunately, the Core Prime SM-G361F is one of those phones that a) nobody particularly wants to write ROMs or recoverys (with a few exceptions) for because it's so hard and b) most people have the much better and somewhat easier to write roms for, SM-G360H
Usually in Samsung devices the model number followed by a H is the 3G model and the one followed by a F is the 4G LTE model
so the main difference is that so SM-G361H is the 3G model and SM-G361F is LTE version of the same device. But yet they carry different chipsets.
So if you try to flash 361h roms to 361f or the other way you'll get a flash failure or a bricked device.
Can i upgrade my coreprime
SM-G361H to marshmellow 6.1
I have the exact problem thx @MelonChickens
