After the screen that I have a headset, and few clicks next, I'm coming to this Google screen when I should log with my account and then app immediately says :

Hi
My nexus 10 received the lollipop update last night. Once the upgrade was completed I tried to open up gmail or email where upon I received the following error message:-
Google Play Services, Google play services, which some of your applications rely on, is not supported by your device. Please contact the manufacturer!
I then did a quick google which pointed me to APKMirror website. I tried to update the google play service but it's made no difference. In addition to this I can no longer see the google play icon so cannot access or update any new apps.
Has anyone else got this issue?
Thanks
Stan..

No. I flashed lollipop using fastboot (losing all data in the process); this could be an option for you.
Cheers poldie,
I wiped my nexus and put it in recovery mode which sorted it out in the end.
Not happy about doing that but heh it worked.
Stan..
I'm using official ROM Lollipop from Malaysia. Since yesterday I notice that my phone unable to connect to Google account and apps. I suspect because of few services that I freeze. After I defrost the apps, I still unable to connect. So, half an hour ago I reset to factory setting. But it seems like I still unable to connect to Google. My contacts all save in Google. I have no problem to open Google Plus, login into Google account, open Google Play Store and etc. using laptop. Every time I opened any Google application to login, it will show you this image:
Please assists. Thank you.
Hi Guys,
I have an issue with my new head unit, a fair few apps are not working properly, but worst of all is google play and its accounts.
If I disable all internet access and try to open google play, it tries to load, does its "checking info" thing, and then comes up with an error about network connectivity.
If I then provide the device with internet connectivity, try to open google play, or create a google account - it comes up with "Checking Info" then the app just closes without reason.
Anyone got any ideas why this might be the case?
James
Mine has been doing the same thing since a factory reset. My device is android v6.0.1. I'm going to try and reflash GAPPS.
Hello Guys, sorry for necroposting.
Did any of you found a solution for this error?
Thanks
Maybe you can try Google installer to update Google Play and install missing components:
Google Installer für Android - APK herunterladen
Lade Google Installer apk 3.0 für Android herunter. Easily install the Google Play Store in your Xiaomi smartphone.
m.apkpure.com
Will do. I'll post the results.
Thanks!

Did it work? Same issue here
Nope. I was able to update google play services and other google apps, but the issue still remains when I try to login on google through play services
Joying has an update if you email them. They sent me this:
Do not worry friend, we know this google account issue.
After looking into this google account this issue, we find that google server has upgraded, now we need to upgrade and adjust our software to make it compatible with google server, so pls try below new firmware to see if it can fix this google service issue.
(the upgrade steps is the same, below firmware only has 2 file after unzip, just need to upgrade your head unit with these 2 files)

Hey guys,
I had the same Google account login issues, after contacting them they sent me a link to two changed files to copy onto their original firmware update. I updated with this new "firmware" and my Google account worked.
Then 2 days later (March 17th 2021) my Google account was compromised for the first time in 15 years. I only use that password for my Google account so I don't know how it was hacked but the audit logs say they just input my password.
They opened up a Google Adwords account and started selling fortnight ads, then attempted to get into my brokerage account, then logged into a dormant Etsy account and tried to do something with square before I caught on (40min total in my account). They were quickly deleting any account emails that came in so I wouldn't notice them.
I am highly suspicious of this new update to my head unit. The timing is spot on, and I haven't used my Google account anywhere other than my phone and this Joying unit.
I am very concerned now about the security of this device. I also don't understand the claim that "Google updated their servers". Smells very fishy to me, and I hope somebody that knows more about device security can figure this out.
Hi Guys
I got a Fire HD 10 (9th Gen) running the latest Fire OS 7.3.x Tablet for my daughter homeschooling and I would like to control the access to apps and activity via Google account instead of Amazon's.
I am able to install Google Account Manager, Google Framework Services, Google Play Service and Google Play Store. Now when I launch Google Play Store it asks me to log in, I used my daughter's account and it moves forward to ask for Parent to help set up the device, I then used my login as a parent and at this stage, Google Account ask for some activity monitoring etc and then get busy checking for updates. Within a minute it fails to state 'Something went wrong and I have to restart the whole process again.
Edit: If I just use my (adult) account to log in, everything works fine and I am able to setup the tablet. The problem is I do not want to login with mine but my daughter's.
Is there any fix for this?
exact same problem, a few days ago. With a Fire HD 8. I also need to set it up for a child!
Hey, did either of you by chance find a solution? I just ran into this same problem. Google Play Store lets me sign in with my account, but I'm trying to setup my kid's account on this Fire Tablet. Any advice? Thanks!!
Same. My daughter's Fire 10 HD (Fire OS 7.3.2.2) throws the ever-so-informative "Something went wrong" with her account.
I had this same issue. Once I switched it to signing in with my own Google account, it worked fine. Must be an issue with child Google accounts.
Hello, has anyone found the solution. I don't understand why it hangs. Is there a file to delete, permission to check? Thank you for your answers.
Hi,
I have a Fire HD 10 9th gen using OS 7.3.2.3. it was setup to use my Google account but I factory reset the device, and then setup a kids/restricted Google account for my 10 year old son do that I could limit YouTube (not YouTube for kids!) content and to apply various Parental Controls, the plan is to use Family Link also. Each time I try to login to PlayStore or YouTube with my Son's account I get a "Checking for updates" message which eventually changes into a "Something went wrong" message. If I then try to login to PlayStore with my own Google account there is no issue logging in, however then my Son can easily select my Google profile to access YouTube and PlayStore,. and when I try to login to Google apps with his account it says the device isn't ready for his login, and gives an option to delete existing accounts before his can be used I had subsequently reinstalled Google Services so that my Google profile would be removed, however the issue where my Son can't login to the Google apps persists i.e. "Checking for updates", advice welcome.
