Why does't this app run on my device? - Java for Android App Development

Hi all
I have a Jadoo4 stick that runs on Android, similar to Chromecast with HDMI. It has an app to watch live TV from East Asia.
I made an APK of that app, but whenever I try to install it on other devices (like my phone), it fails.
I think because it is because of I need to port it to my phone (oneplus 3t), but I'm not sure of that, nor I'm capable of porting it.
The specs of the device (Jadoo4) that runs the app are the following :
Quad Core Processor
1 GB RAM
8 GB Flash Memory
Android 4.4.2
HDMI Video Output Supports [email protected] Hardware Decoding Supports Micro SD Supports USB
On my phone I run Android 7.1.
This is the link to the apk:
https://mega.nz/#!E4UhWZDR!woA6mmng5O7iPYUBSUasqw0bMTsZSpxP7zpwAePi2zE
I would gladly appreciate it if someone could help me out.

Hi first of all, sorry for the late reply.
As a said, the stick runs android so it has Google Play Store tire on it
I downloaded an app called apk extractor, and made the apk with it.

So, I can successfully install the app on my phone with LinOS7.1. But when I start the app I got the error message. "Device not supported"
The only way to remove this warning would be to disable the check in the compiled code in the apk.

Thanks for checking it out. I know that that's the error. But unfortunately i don't have the skills to disable the check.
Do you have the necessary skills to do so?
I would gladly appreciate it.

[Q] USB Port / PS3 Jailbreak APK

Hey there,
since I have no clue about Android development, is it possible to access the USB on a rooted phone and simulate a USB Hub? Reason for this is a possible port to android phones of the open source jailbreak PSGroove found here:

well it is, but it's a small mixup especially if you have no clue about android.
instructions can be found here (tested and working on N1)
Thanks for that, that already helps a lot!
well i was going write a topic about it .... the Teensy++ USB Development Board and AT90USBKEY are sold out we will have to wait 2 weeks.
android seems to have the required hardware
the Teensy++ usb is sold for $24
so a psjailbreak app in the market for a $10 is great deal
any developer interested ?
edit:
further info on the exploit
ps3wiki.lan.st/index.php?title=PSJailbreak_Exploit_Reverse_Engineering
cheers
can someone try it?PLSS
This would be awesome! I'll donate.
hope there is a possibility, because all are sold out usbkey
Here the github code of the open source version
github.com/psgroove/psgroove
WOw THIS WOULD BE AMAZING IF WE COULD get this fully working just flash into kernals etc.. soo from then on all you'd have to do is plug in your usb and have access to keyboards. mouse. flash disks. etc..
Would be great if we could have an apk that does it..
I would surely buy it.. maybe someone with some good knowledge of porting apps wants to get some money from it...
found this in a comment on maxconsole.

Sounds good I knew someone was doing it I'm currently using a Blackcat JTAG, if there sold out of the Teensy grab one of them and use Flip to load the binary. I'll most likely use a device dedicated to this but I'm sure tons of people will enjoy this. It will be cool to be able to run the exploit on the go, to show friends or something.

fix ............
netzke seems legit time will tell he said beta by the end of the week. Im just glad I keep my Palm Pre around after I upgraded to the Evo I just used the Pre to jailbreak my ps3 crazy stuff
Just curious, the scrubby nub I am wonders what form this 'jailbreak' will take for android, an installable apk that just requires (or not - no way) root, some full fledged ROM?
I'm a bit scared too after reading netzke's blog seeing how he mentioned 1 or 2 phones blew up cause they got shorted or something but I can't help but look forward to it.
Netzke is a scammer. Everything on his blog is pure bull****.
The guys over the Desire forums already ported psfreedom to it. Go check if its compatible with your device.

[RK3188/3066/2918] Custom Firmware Tool for Windows

Longtime lurker. But its time to contribute! I recently bought a TimingPower RK3188 and searched high and low for these tools. After endless hours of searching and translating Chinese and Japanese I brought this little package together to build your own CFW. This probably isn't for complete newbies but I made it as simple as possible. I can confirm it works on my TimingPower RK3188 using Rockchip Batch Tool as well as copying update.img to SD. Anyway, enjoy!
This is what it does:
Extract update.img as well as system.img
Pre-root your firmware
Open system folder to edit your rom
Repack update.img
I cant post links so previews are a no no I guess. Let me know how it works. If this is the wrong section I apologize.
Thanks !!
Would like to bring to your attention (as you seem the only Chef so far) :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2437990
Hope you can help contribute to the thread, and possibly have the first full solution, root, CWM, CFW, custom ROM
Thanks! I was looking for a material Quick installation!

I am quite happy with them. However, some notes are in order. I received them with firmware 20130715 installed, and that does not support 1080p. The timingpower.com website offers 2 updated images for it, one 20131101, the other 20131104. The 20131101 image has some improvements over the 20130715 version, but still offers only 720p, but the 20131104 version does offer 1080p. I updated both units to the 1104 version, and it went smoothly, but it can be a bit unstable at times. The screen and sound cut out at random intervals, but I got used to that, even thought it is quite annoying. Overall the picture is amazing (i use it on a 65" flat screen). Speed is acceptable, not a gaming computer, but fast enough. Takes a bit to get used to using it, keep wanting to right-click stuff for options, and get dumped back a screen.
Suggest that you get a USB 2 hub (more ports are better). I connected a USB keyboard, USB mouse and USB camera (all cheap, nothing fancy), and they all worked fine. However, the tiny Bluetooth keyboard (IS11-BT05) that I got, doesn't seem to work. It pairs up just fine, and shows as recognized, but after that, nothing.
One caution note: if you do flash your device, make sure that you use a newer computer, with USB 2.0 , really old PC's with USB 1.1 will not work.
Making your own version of the ROM shouldn't be too difficult. Plenty of advise here, and there are even some tools available on the TimingPower site. I'm in the middle of customizing mine, and I have not found it particularly difficult. I mainly want to scrap some of the basic stuff, and make it more sleek (to my tastes). I am also considering incorporating a dual-boot option, for Android <-> Linus (not sure of what flavor yet).
BTW, I have an English translated version of the Chinese RKBatchTool Manual, should anyone need it.
thanks!
KitKat for CS968
I have been using your program to root my CS968 and other rockchip tv boxes running 4.2. I have now installed 4.4 rom, but you program does not work on KitKat. Does anyone know how to root a kitkat rom for my RK3188 CS968? I would be most greatfull.

[XAP] WP 8.1 Emulator XAPs on WP8

Yay, first post
Hey,
I edited the manifest in many WP 8.1 Emulator XAPs (from dump) so they would run on Windows Phone 8. At this time, i've not tested it because my 8X is still in repair :crying:
If you test it please post if it works
I know this should be in the development forum, but I'm new, i can't post to it
It doesn't work on Lumia 925
I can't slideload any of these 3 apps on my lumia 925.
If you just changed the platform version in the manifest from 8.1 to 8.0 it won't work - I've already tried that myself and all deployment tools give the same error code.
The only thing from this SDK that I could sideload to my dev unlocked 820 was the new games hub, but besides changing the platform version, I had to remove the OEM_DEPLOYMENT capability as well.
You could, however, try sideloading these into the 8.0 emulator and see if they work.
You must remove "WMAppPRHeader.xml"

Tried that, can sideload Music now (though it crashes on splashscreen) as well, but not video.
tilemanager and Music Crash:at splashscreen
I can't install?
I can't deploy them in my windowsphone8
After removing the PRHeader thing, I was able to sideload Music and IETileManager.
Music crashes (Wish it didn't Music+Videos is annoying >.>)
IETileManager just has a blackscreen (Doesn't help that I don't know what it does either xD

Hey,
thanks for your reply all

Thanks,

As the name suggests, it has something to do with IE's live tiles, and it seems to me more like a component, rather than an actual app you can use. If you look at the resources, it has a wide tile for IE, which IE itself doesn't offer (yet), so that kinda explains it...
Ok, removed TileManager and edited OneDrive so it will work
please test and review
Isn't it kinda pointless, when there's OneDrive already in the store? Or does this one have some magical abilities?

I don't know, I don't think that the app is completely similar to the OneDrive app in the store. I will test it when I get my phone back.

Will Lineage OS make my Device compatible with the ps3 Sixaxis controller app?

Hey there,
am trying to get the sixaxis app to work with my p9 lite now, but the applications lists my devices as "incompatible" as it can't get the device's Bluetooth driver configured properly. I read somewhere that the required packages to access this driver is not available on the stock rom but it is available in Cyanogen mod/ lineage OS . if someone can confirm this, it would be a great help, cause i don't want to go through the hassle of installing everything back just to find that the device is still incompatible anyways...
PS: as a proof on concept, i have a galaxy grand prime with Cyanogen mod already running on it, the app worked fine and the controller paired there, but still maybe the device was compatible anyway even without Cyanogen mod on.
It will work.-don't forget to give me a thanks!

Slash TV for asus tinkerboard, Android 7.1.2 rooted with play store

Today I'm sharing Slash TV, created by myself. The same developer as retro pie on the tinkerboard. This is set up to have more of an android TV feel to it, Sega Saturn is working, Dreamcast, psp, all the earlier emulators, Netflix, Kodi, Plex, and much more. This is the official public release. It is sized at 16 gb. If you use a larger SD you can use gparted to get the space back, or factory reset. If you use factory reset once it reboots use play store to get chrome, then get magisk 5.9.1 to restore root. There is no custom recovery yet. Just root. Also magisk had to be manually installed so don't update it. Other then that, enjoy and have fun.
Www.techtoytinker.com stores previous releases and instructions, no ads, no sales.

Android Nougat was giving me some major display issues when dealing with higher end TVs though, so I switched to Marshmallow.

Hello, thank you for the ROM I am however having a buggy issue once i install on my tinker board s. It deletes what ever i type in browser, closes pages of games or what ever I open, it backspace or cancels my selections. I checked my controls and those are not the problem. It seems to be withing this android ROM. I do not know how to even begin to find the cause. On my old Rom it does not do this.. I do not have the know how to update my old ROM that's why I am looking for built tweaked Roms. RC 3288c

@godkingofcanada Thank you for your ROM. My Tinkerboard has finally found it's place as a TV STB and it's role as a Nextcloud server has been given to a 64-bit ARM, which would require less maintenance.
