I am unable to send Premium SMS through my new Galaxy S8+. My provider allows this and I have gone into Settings > Apps >Special Access > Use Premium SMS Services and the setting for Message Service is on "Always Allow" but texts still fail. I have reviewed other forums for previous handsets and versions and can't see other fixes. Anyone have any other ideas?

I had the same problem exactly. Check that you have extra credit sitting in your account in addition to your mobile plan to pay the cost of premium text messages.

Do you have a accessibility service active? Like missed it or any one. Because that's a cause for this.
Check settings > my device > accessibility > services and verify that all are in off, then check if works email preview again.

thanks you the man i had lock screen notifications on know its back working

Similar here, the latest Last Pass update includes an accessibility setting to make it work and turning that setting off fixed the problem. Thank you!
GO SMS Pro not able to send or receive MMS (G900P) Virgin mobile.
I have tried setting the APN settings in the advanced menu many times. It never seems to work. Also this is an issue with all 3rd party texting apps, not just Go SMS.
I have been looking for a fix and have not found one yet.
My phone is rooted.
Can't remember if this is the correct setting, but iirc there is a security setting somewhere (Maybe here) that you have to give permissions to certain apps before they can work
Settings > General > Security > Trust Agents (Near the bottom)
I can vaguely remember having to enable it for an SMS app in the past, if it's not that setting, I can't remember where it is
EDIT - Could be in Settings > General > Security > Device Administrators

I checked out both of those settings. Neither had Go SMS under them or anything that would signify giving permissions to any apps at all.

Just installed GoSMS Pro on my S5, it does warn that you might not be able to send or receive SMS by setting it as the default messaging app, which I did (Did you set it as default?)
And sent myself a test SMS, which sent and received perfectly fine
And you're right, there is nothing in those two places, must be remembering something else
Not sure then, got to be something either your carriers end, or your phone

It will send SMS just fine. I'm not concerned with the SMS. I'm concerned with mms.
Ah sorry, misread the title as SMS
I get charged by my carrier for MMS so can't test that unfortunately
Could I get some help with this issue?
Hi there, in my new s7 edge,
when i was trying to send a premium sms text,
it said "do u want to send? YES NO" and bellow there was an option like "always remember".
i wanted to press YES and always remeber, but i accidentaly pressed NO and "always remember".
now there is nowhere i can find the spot to reset it back and i cant send that sms...
its not an ISP issue as when i try the same SIM to another phone, it sends it without problems...

I had the same issue and I had to factory reset because I couldn't find it anywhere. Very fristra5
Sent from my Blackberry Bold
I am having the same issue. This is absolute garbage that this cannot be reset. I do not want to hard reset my phone to fix this. It takes me hours to get all my apps back in place and everything logged in. If Samsung's back up saved where my apps go and how I like things customized I'd be a little more reluctant. There has to be somewhere in the phone to fix this Short code texting.
People with high Wi-Fi drain try this:
Backup and Reset -> Reset Network Settings
This will only reset WiFi password and Bluetooth and it did had a positive impact for me.
Not sure what Wifi drain has to do with this topic...
Default app manager pro can clear default apps and bring back the open with menu. Pretty sure the lite version can do this too.
Nope no defaults set anywhere
Has anyone found a solution except for factory reset?
Just curious what's premium SMS? Compared to a regular SMS?

It's an sms sent to a phone number to approve a charge. Kinda like a 900 call.
I was replying to something like a redbox message - STOP, HELP, YES. Since I accidently hit "no", whenever I respond, the message FAILS

None of these solutions work. I've ready that it's a marshmellow thing.
Can't you just long press the messaging app from the app drawer and go to app info and clear data and cache to reset it?

You could try settings > application manager > more > reset app preferences
Try this:
Settings > Application Manager > Find the app (most likely it would be Messages > Storage > Let it compute (which can take some time) > then CLEAR DATA. This might delete all your texts though (not 100% sure since I haven't tried)
Go to Settings / Applications / App Manager, scroll to the SMS app (Messages is the default SMS app), tap the app, tap Set as default, tap Clear Defaults.
That should do it. This is how you clear defaults for every app.
I just did the same thing. I bought my S7 today. But there is no premium sms setting in the phone. And I do not want to reset my phone. I gave my 3 hours for it
Any chance that this is under App Permissions? Ir simply install Google Messenger.
My mother inlaw bought a Moto G4 (Amazon Ads Edition). She uses the premium sms option for checking bank account info and so forth. Well the other day she decided to select the "remember my choice" option but accidentally chose to deny. Ive been trying to figure out how to enable the ask option again. On my phone, a Galaxy S7 Edge, when I go to settings>applications>application manager>(more>show system apps)>message service, then I can see the option for "Send premium text messages" with options to Ask, Never allow, or Always allow. On her phone I can not find this. Can anyone tell me how to get to this option on the Moto G4 or any other way to allow the premium text messages?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

I have the same issue, but on a Moto Z Droid. I have been unable to find any setting. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!
Hi,
Couldn't find an answer to this.
My text/SMS messages get deleted after a certain limit is reached when using Google Messages. I don't see an option to stop this from happening. Google Messages on my non-Samsung device (Nexus 5) doesn't delete anything.
Is there a setting somewhere I can change to prevent any texts from being deleted?
Thanks.

if you go into the messaging setting by clicking the 3 little dots in the upper right corner then click on settings..then on .ore settings..there is an option that you can turn off for auto delete of messages

This doesn't exist in Android Messages (by Google) - at least not the version I have (2.4.035).
That option is there for the Samsung app but greyed out for me since I have the Google app set as default messaging app.
I've set the Samsung app as default, turned off the auto delete, then assigned Android Messages as default again. I'll see if that changes anything but I don't see why settings in a Samsung app should change my Google apps.
