You can call sprint. If your phone is payed off and in good standing they will give you the iccid unlock code so you can use another sim card.

There are other methods but they cost a fee and honestly I don't know how legal they are although they do work. There was an article on xda about a week ago about an unlocking website. I forgot the link though but it costs about 10-15 dollars.
EDIT: Here is a link to the xda article https://www.xda-developers.com/benefits-carrier-unlocking/ also no prices on the site that they mentioned but I have found unlocks for the above price. I just don't trust them. I feel that is easier and safer to go through your carrier.
I can unlock it with my GC pro dongle .

I have been wondering if this is possible on Verizon. I'm considering purchasing a clean ESN Sprint G6 and unlocking it to use on Verizon. Do you know if this is doable?

before purchasing ask for IMEI and contact verizon to see if they will allow a foreign ESN on their network. Verizon G6 is factory unlocked

Are you able to help me with an unlock as well?
Hello,
I'm outside of USA.
I have unlocked Sprint LG G6 using service from ebay.
For now I can use GSM sim card and make a calls. I configured APN and data turns ON and web browsing is working fine.
BUT messangers works very strange... telegram sends only text, not photos, viber not works at all....
Why? It's sprint specific setting like tunneling/proxy? How I can remove it? Any workarrounds?
I can pay if anybody can resolve this issue
I have a Verizon V20 and would like to move to one of the discount providers. It looks like I'm better off with a GSM phone or possibly the international version.
My must have requirement for a 3rd party provider is being able to provide hot spot connectivity for my laptop and tablet. I would also want a rootable phone.
If anyone has gone down this path, I'd appreciate any feedback to help me with my decision.
Thanks in advance...

You could go with straight talk and select the Verizon network, and keep your V20

On the straight talk website, it says my phone is not compatible with their network. I spoke with them and the LG V20 doesn't work on their network.
I'm curious if its possible I havent bought this phone yet. I want to ask if its possible before I spend the money.

I recently purchased an AT&T unlocked LG G6. Everywhere online, people say that all LG G6 carrier models have been updated to oreo. For some reason, it says that my software is up to date even though I'm still on Android 7.0. My software version is H87110p and my model number is LG-H871. Does anyone else have this problem? And why is it that I cant recieve the update?
Why did you buy an Lg phone!, you have just fell in their trap, because you'll never get the update!
LG only support few regions, and the rest are only to get money from!

Yes I understand that, but it seems that in America, At&T lg g6 has already got the update?
I'm on AT&T they claim my phone had a problem that's why it didn't update I think it's bull. I converted by using the H 873 (Canada) update from LG-firmware.com using LG-UP. My phone is now 8.0 boots saying LG g6 thin Q. instructions in the AT&T LG6 thread. My phone runs fine no issues.
