sm-t580 frp lock - Samsung Galaxy Tab A series Questions & Answers

I got this tablet on ebay today I will most likely send it back. It has a frp lock. I did a few work around but no luck. The few program I tried were just infected with malware.
Is that what I should do?

any one?

Did the owner perhaps have a google account on it? FRP lock usually happens if a custom rom is installed and the OEM UNLOCK is disabled.
An easy way to figure this out is download Samsung Smart Switch app. Use the Emergency Recovery part. It'll ask for the serial number on the back and flash it back to stock.
When it boots back up, if it asks for a google account, the person sold you a locked tablet. Have him unlock it or send it back. If it lets you configure, grats.

I dont really know much. after I try to sign in it tells me theirs a FRP lock looks like stock rom to me.
It dose ask for a google account, My guess is the seller is bulk buy/re-seller .
Emergency Recovery part dose that push stock rom back to it? How will that bypass FRP?
Are there no other workarounds?

What is your build number ? Power+ Volume Up+ Home will go to Recovery Mode which will display your build number .
Look at the last 3 character. if it's PG1, you can downgrade to the lower build and bypass FRP. However, it's PL4 you are out of luck as it will lock the downgrade.
I successfully bypassed FRP on 4 tablets by downgrade from PG1 ( released July 2016 ) to PF5 ( released June 2016 ) . The PL4 ( released Dec 2016) , QC2 ( released Mar 2017 ) will lock the downgrade attempt. This downgrade will work on the SM-T580 with firmware build PG1 or older.
There are a lot of FRP unlock service on Ebay if you're unable to do by yourself.

Look at sammobile, then follow this post, I did at least 5 tablets to bypass FRP by downgrade firmware
I had to create second user in order to switch to owner account which I created with a PIN.
After that it asked me to sign in to continue the setting, just reboot the tablet, enter the PIN, then you can reset the tablet.
When reset by owner account, it will ask the PIN, then FRP will be OFF.

You downgrade by Odin and use your USB cable to connect the tablet to your computer.
When download firmware from sammoble, they have instruction how to flash firmware by Odin

I followed the guide you linked the best I could but it not very clear. Thanks

The first account you created after disconnected from Internet in the step " Checking for Software Update " is the owner account which has RESET option.
Additional users don't have this privilege. After the first account with PIN is created, press the Power button to turn the screen off, then press it again to turn the screen on.
At the locking screen you will see a yellow face icon at the top right corner, touch it and you have an option to add user. I do skip all steps except Name for 2 added accounts to speed up process.
The only account needs PIN is the first account ( OWNER ).
When you're done, it will boot to this first user account. Select the owner account is the setting to switch account, you have to enter the PIN to open. If you're lucky you can open this account and do a Reset. Most of the time, it won't open and go back the first screen of settings.
Press the power button to turn the screen off, then press it again to turn the screen on.
Repeat the step to add another user. When it complete, do the same thing as previous step to switch to owner account. After enter the PIN, if you see this message, you're done

Don't touch the SET UP TABLET, if you do, it will go back to the beginning again. You must RESTART the tablet.
At the lock screen, enter your PIN, then the owner account is open with the option to RESET. You need the PIN to reset.
After the RESET by owner account, the FRP is OFF. You won't see the step asking for Google account.
All the steps above, I don't add any email or Samsung account to any users as well as the first account ( owner ) as it's not necessary and slow down the process.
I did this procedure in 5 SM-T580 and 1 SM-T560 to bypass FRP in older firmware by downgrade it.
I did the same with SM-P580 by using Hong Kong firmware because it has the lowest build I can find.
As long as you can continue after Software Update checking failure, you chance of success is 99%
Again, if you see the above message asking to sign in to continue the SET UP, you did it correctly.
Note: no internet connection is needed after you create the first account ( owner with PIN ). If you do correctly, it takes only 3 minutes to get in owner account and do the Factory Reset.

I had did all that all ready the only thing I did not know how to do is switch to owner account. I figured that out about 20 mins ago. Thanks for taking the time to get back with me. I dont mess with Samsung stuff much there UI is new to me. I have done a lot of nexus stuff. But I got it thanks for all your help.

Correction: Smart Switch does NOT ask for the serial number, but for a recovery code, in case one is not using the same PC, which was used for the initial backup. It tried the serial number, but it does not work.

[Guide]How to root Honor 7

Why rooting Honor 7?
Huawei Honor 7 is one great Chinese phone, on design and performance side I might say that one of the best. But then, like most of branded phones, it comes with its own UI, precisely Emotions 3.1. As this UI might have a few useful options, it is generally (as many others) unwanted modification of AOSP. Most of adaptions and additional applications are adapted to the Chinese taste and feels strange to westerners.
Therefore I suggest potential buyers from the West to wait for European model which is expected to be available in early September. It may come without additional Chinese applications though it keeps Emotions UI for sure. The only way to change this at least partially is to root the phone.
In the beginning I had replaced the most inconvenient essential applications like dialer, messenger and calendar with Google’s ones and had removed all Chinese apps. But later, due to really frequently OTA updates I got tired of reverting system applications, returned all Chinese, froze them and kept only 3 additional Google apps, which I removed from the system before every update and pushed them back after.
I advise you to push desired system apps as apk files with the appropriate explorer (i.e. Root Explorer) rather than flash zip. Flashing zip according to my experience might cause bootloop (allegedly due to the inappropriate graphic parameters).
How to root Honor 7?
In the beginning I must warn you that rooting your device might be risky, especially if you don’t follow instructions. Hence, do your homework first, read everything carefully and make a nandroid after every new alternation of the system.
I’m not taking any responsibility for your device. You should be aware that it is your device and your own responsibility. I’m not a developer and therefore I might not be able to advice you if something goes wrong. I’ve just used the method described below and succeed without any issues or damage. I strongly believe that you’ll benefit from this method too If followed correctly. Do not improvise or omit any instruction.
I must apologize to not insert pictures into text, I was to short to do it in reasonable amount of time with my current knowledge. Pictures are numbered and attached.
Part 1: Unlock your bootloader
In order to root your phone, you have to unlock the bootloader first. Surprisingly, unlike in my previous cases, unlocking Honor 7 bootloader doesn’t factory reset the phone. Anyway, like always, I do not take credit for any of this material or information, so backup your contacts, texts, pictures, etc. to the computer before unlocking.
Unlocking (and relocking) procedure
Register to Huawei and obtain an unique unlock code here:
https://hwid5.vmall.com/oauth2/port...huawei.com/en/source/plugin/hwlogin/login.php
Unlock your bootloader following this procedure (Google translate from Huawei web instructions):
Step 1: Preparation Work
1. Install the phone driver is properly on a PC, driver download Huawei Terminal official website.
2. Download the ADB toolkit provided by Google and installed on your PC, such as the installation to D: \ adb_tools-2.0 directory, make sure the directory with fastboot.exe file.
Step 2: Unlock Operation
1. Put the phone into fastboot mode:
First phone off (note need to be in the setup menu, close the "Quick Start" feature, or unplug the battery after shutdown, more than two seconds and then re-inserted), and then press the power button and the volume down key (flat simultaneously Press the volume keys and power button), and maintain more than 10 seconds, you can enter the fastboot mode.
If this does not enter fastboot mode, try the following steps:
Phone off (note need to be in the setup menu, close the "Quick Start" feature, or unplug the battery after shutdown, more than two seconds and then re-insert), then insert the USB cable, followed by pressing the volume down and power button key, holding more than 10 seconds, you can enter the fastboot mode.
2. Connect your phone and a PC:
Use USB cable to connect your phone and PC, open the PC command line window, enter the ADB installation directory, make sure your phone and PC is connected, confirm method in the command line window, type fastboot devices, you can see the normal connection information, such as: 9e42530e fastboot.
picture 1
3. Perform the unlock command:
Enter the PC command line window fastboot oem unlock ****************, * No. 16 unlock code, for example: fastboot oem unlock 1234567812345678.
picture 2
4. Wait for the phone to unlock:
After entering the unlock code, the phone will automatically restart, if you enter the correct password, the phone will enter restore factory settings mode. Restoring the factory setup is complete, the phone automatically restart, enter the standby interface, complete the unlocking operation. If the user enters the password information is incorrect, the phone will prompt an error message, and enters the standby interface.
5. Test if the phone is unlocked sucesfully:
Repeat steps 1 and 2, and then enter the fastboot oem get-bootinfo, phone bootloader will display the current status information, such as the PC command line window "Bootloader Lock State: LOCKED", indicates bootloader is still locked, please re-unlock operation or confirm the password is correct and then conduct; If "Bootloader Lock State: UNLOCKED", means that the phone has been unlocked, you can brush machine operation.
picture 3
Note: After unlocking success, if you want to re-lock the phone, follow these steps: First, upgrade via SD card, will be restored to Huawei mobile version of the official release version; then, enter fastboot mode, the command line at PC Enter the command fastboot oem relock ****************, * No. 16 unlock code. The phone will automatically reboot, bootloader converted to "RELOCKED" state.
Part 2: Install custom recovery
All credits go to Chinese developer Wang Hao, who invented this procedure, I’m only the interpreter.
Go to the site: http://pan.baidu.com/share/link?shareid=1067948446&uk=3020839592, use password: nwae and download the file. Extract and open the map: 荣耀7root工具包. Make sure that you have proper USB driver installed and ADB debugging enabled. Start command line in map 荣耀7root工具包(shift + right click of mouse simultaneously): Power off the phone and connect it with USB to the computer. On the phone pres volume down + power simultaneously. It will boot to the fastboot. Then type in the command line on the computer:
fastboot devices
if your device is recognized, type in the command line:
fastboot flash recovery TWRP.img
when process is finished, type:
fastboot reboot
You’ll boot the system. You’ll have installed TWRP recovery in CHINESE LANGUAGE and you won’t understand anything. Luckily there is not much to understand. Configuration of the recovery is the same as in English:
picture 4
Find an English description of TWRP if you want to use more functions. For the beginning we want to root the phone so the instructions is be only about installing the SU.
Part 3: Root your phone
Copy zip file BETA-SuperSU-v2.49 from the map荣耀7root工具包 to the phone internal memory or sdcard if you have one (wherever, just remember, where it is copied) and boot to recovery: turn down your phone, wait a few secs, simultaneously press volume up and power buttons. If you can’t do it, turn phone off, wait a few secs, connect it to the computer with USB cable and press simultaneously volume up and power.
In TWRP press install (first button up and left), select zip file, where you put BETA-SuperSU-v2.49 and press the only button for installing. Then go back to the main TWRP screen, find reboot (lower right button) and boot the system (upper left button).
That’ll be all. Install Play Store from web if you don’t have it already, Busybox and one explorer with root capability (i.e. Root Explorer) for desired modification of the system. And most importantly: ALWAYS MAINTAIN AN ESCAPE LINE. DO NANDROID BEFORE ANY MODIFICATION OF THE SYSTEM.
Accepting OTA requires restoration of the original system and flashing stock recovery. Stock recovery could be flashed following procedure for TWRP flashing and could be obtained from ROM for your respective phone from the site: http://www.needrom.com/?s=honor+7&sa=search&scat=0, following procedure described in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2433454 thanks to the developer worstenbrood.
Serious advice: Don’t try to accept OTA with modified system or custom recovery installed. In first case OTA will be refused, in second case you might experience TWRP bootloop.

Please help, the model of Honor 7 is not listed in the models so i can get the unlock code. which model should i use?
You can find your respective phone model in -settings-about phone-model number. Just register and follow the procedure at: https://hwid5.vmall.com/oauth2/port...huawei.com/en/source/plugin/hwlogin/login.php
To make procedure easier, I'm attaching the TWRP recovery img and SU zip file. If you have android platform tools already installed or can find them somewhere else, you don't need to seek them on pan.baidu.com, you can flash TWRP.img from any platform tools following the description above and flash SU.zip after from TWRP.

OK. Let's start from the very beginning. Do you know what model of the phone you have? My is PLK-UL00 and I'm deriving instructions on this model. So: go to http://emui.huawei.com/, change language to English (picture 1). You'll get to http://emui.huawei.com/plugin.php?id=hwdownload. Enter your phone model and you'll jump to the menu: http://emui.huawei.com/cn/plugin.php?id=unlock&mod=detail (picture2). Now enter requested data. In first column choose smartphone. In second enter your model. In third the product serial number as marked on the box containing your phone. Next enter IMEI of the first SIM. Then product identification code (dial *#*#1357946#*#* and you'll get it (picture3)). Enter Captha as seen at last column and enter submit. You are done and you'll get unlock code.
Use google translate on pages to understand the text. If you are unable to follow instructions you can still write Huawei for code to email address seen in attached picture (mobile.huawei.com).
Hope I helped. Good luck

I tried and i don't feel that you can't obtain the unlock code. Did you register correctly? I found that your model is listed as well in drop down menu, just credentials, which logically I don't have, are to be entered.
My model is PLK-TL01H, the site doesn't seem to list my model. I've found it in chinese version, but my IMEI is not connected with my Huawei cloud account. I'll try it tomorrow again. Thanks for advice to try Chinese version of site.

I'm not able to received unique unlockable code. It's because my phone number is not connected with my Huawei IMEI. I can't do it manually because in the list of countries isn't my country code and is not possible to enter my own. so I'll try to write to support. Probably I would have to try it later or another method.

Your phone is PLK-AL10. And such is listed in all forums and producer's site.
It's Chinese, the last one. I put the instruction how to handle it. As far as I know in English exist only CWM for now, but CWM appeared always less reliable in the last time.

You have to use version in chinese language. For me in my country is that gateway probably blocked with my model PLK-TL01H. In Chinese version it almost worked but my phone number is not connected with IMEI of Huawei cloud because of lack of my country code in list of countries in entering form for phone number.

You have to reboot to fastboot mode, there are two ways:
First enable developer setting tapping 7 time on build number in phone's information. Open developer setting and enable USB debug.
Download fastboot driver, you can find it on Google.
Then:
1) Open CMD from fastboot folder and type
fastboot reboot bootloader
Click to collapse
Or turn off your phone, then press power button + volume down
2)Wait for the phone to reboot into fastboot mode
3)Type in CMD
fastboot oem unlock "your code"
Click to collapse
4)Then you unlocked your phone and you can reboot typing:
fastboot reboot

for anyone having trouble unlocking bootloader for g7-L01 ive tried on two different g7-L01 and worked perfect
ive also included twrp and stock recovery too for flashing via fastboot
download these files
https://www.mediafire.com/folder/agrehokgvf3b5/unlock_bootloader
make sure usb debugging is selected by tapping on build until developer option comes available then select developer menu and turn on usb debugging
now first you need to make sure your on lollipop for serial number to show properly (doesn't show on KitKat for some reason )
now lets get started open new folder I have put on here and select huaweiproductIDGenerator
under product model select HUAWEI Y300-0100
make sure to copy product model on to notepad as you will need this
type on on phone *#06# for iemi and input it under Product IEMI/MEID:
now copy and paste product id to notepad as you will need this for later
on your phone go to settings/about phone then status and make a record of your serial number on notepad too
now go to this website and make sure you login if not then sign up http://emui.huawei.com/en/plugin/hwdownload/download
now go to download then bootloader unlock it will take you to another page agree and continue
(IMPORTANT) under product model will be this HUAWEI Y300-0100
then serial number then iemi now finally input the new product id you took note of earlier and fill in verification code and then select commit.
you should now see your bootloader unlock code at the bottom.
Turn off phone then holding vol down and power until you get fastboot screen then connect to PC by USB.
Once connected open cmd and type fastboot devices to see if your device shows
Now type. fastboot oem unlock (yourunlockcode) then press enter.
By now your g7 should reset and wipe everything as it does when unlocking bootloader.
I found this guide on youtube not my work just making it a bit easier for people to understand.
hopes this helps in any way

Cannot unlock bootloader on Redmi note 3 (Сouldn't verify device)

The steps I followed:-
Step 1. Download the Mi Unlock app to PC, and sign in with your Mi Account;
Step 2. Shut down your phone manually, and hold Volume down key and Power button to enter Fastboot mode;
Step 3. Connect your phone to PC using USB cable and click "Unlock"
Unlocking process stops at 50% and shows "Сouldn't verify device. Current account is different from the account info on the device".
P.S I didn't send any unlock request to xiaomi but my mi account is eligible for unlocking (as per Mi unlock tool).
I'm a diamond member.

Also signed in to i.mi.com and verified the device.
My sim card is activated and synced with mi account

You need to have the latest Chinese Developer ROM installed to unlock (at least that is what I found).

Well I tried various rom's, linking my mi account each time with the device and even doing things like making sure 'Find my device' showed I was outside China etc. I did try various unlock tools, But once the developer ROM came out it worked straight away with the MiUnlock 017.1 version.
Note: I had applied and received the SMS from Xiaomi to say I could unlock my bootloader.

Isnt working for me
If in phone settings ---> Mi Account your device shown as activated and linked to your mobile number then it's really strange.
As an option I suggest to try newer version of this tool. 1.1.0317.1.
For me switching to 6.3.31 china dev rom finally helped.
Account activation -> finding device on i.mi.com -> applying to Xiaomi for unlock -> waiting about 2 weeks -> switching to china dev rom -> successful unlock.
for me nothing is helping, tried everything :'(

They do not want us to unlock the bootloader...
They say, "due to security reasons" our customer should get unlock sms, need to use account on unlock tool, use same account on device , try various roms ( including chinese ! ) , blah blah blah...
They want to lock with their OS, monitor customers and make customers into part of their product. Yeah, literally Xiaomi is selling/will sell us.
Thank you Xiaomi.
I successfully unlocked it officially in one go .

I had the same issue with my RN3. Re-checked everything again and found a silly mistake. Before booting into fastboot mode, enable 'Allow OEM Unlocking' from developer options. Then retry the same method by Mi Unlock Tool.
Hit Thanks if I Helped You!!!
Regards,

It could be that your phone number doesn't match with your Mi ID. I would suggest you to login into your Mi account using your *phone number* and check whether you have the permission to unlock the bootloader on that ID (associated with your phone number) after login. As for unlock tool, it should be able to unlock bootloader on China Stable/Dev as long as it is original MIUI ROM.
If you're getting error at 50%
1. Factory reset the phone
2. Don't set up the Wireless network and Mi Account on first boot
3. After initial setup turn on Developer options, then turn on USB debugging and OEM unlocking
4. Reboot the phone
5. Set up the wireless network
6. Go to Developer options > Mi Unlock status and click on Add account and device then set up Mi Account using account Id (accept every pop-up)
7. Reboot into fastboot and try to unlock your phone

[GUIDE] Samsung Galaxy S7 Active (G891A) FRP Bypass Method Using Odin

This is the entire process needed to remove FRP protection from your AT&T Samsung Galaxy S7 Active (G891A). Tested and working on Android 7.0 (2/26/18)
Summary This process involves using a modified version of Odin to flash an unlocked bootloader. With the unlocked bootloader you can gain adb permissions and use adb commands to wipe the files that store the FRP credentials. After wiping the credentials, you will flash your device back to the original stock 7.0 firmware. This does not root your device. This does not trip knox.
ProcessThe Download is 2GB. It will take a few minutes to download. This is necessary because it contains all the original firmware to return your phone to stock.

Step 1: Download the files and open the modified Odin.exe
Step 2: Hold the Power, Home, and Volume Down buttons until your phone shows a green screen. Then release those buttons and press the volume up button to place your device in download mode. Once your phone is in download mode, connect it via usb to your computer running Odin. The COM port box in Odin should turn blue indicating a successful connection.
Step 3: In Odin click the AP button and open the file AP_G891A_7.0_eng_boot.tar. Ensure that the checkbox beside the AP button is checked and then click start. Give the program a few minutes to execute. Your phone will reboot when flashing is complete.
Step 4: Once your phone is rebooted, you should now be able to connect to it via ADB. I have created a simple .bat file to automatically do this for you. With your phone running, double click on Step4.bat and allow it to run for a minute or so. Pay attention to the window and ensure that it is making a connection. If the window continues to show "No Devices Found" then you need to repeat steps 2 and 3. If you were successful in running the .bat program then reboot your phone like normal and now you should be able to enter a new email account on the setup screen as if the phone is new. ***DO NOT STOP HERE***
Step 5: Hold the Power, Home, and Volume Down buttons until your phone shows a green screen. Then release those buttons and press the volume up button one to place your device in download mode. Once you are in download mode again, connect your device to the computer if you unplugged it previously. Ensure that Odin detects your device.
Step 6: Now you need to reflash the stock 7.0 firmware. With Odin open and your phone connected, click the BL button in Odin and navigate to the S7 Active Stock Firmware folder in the package you downloaded. In this folder are the stock files that correspond to the buttons in Odin. Put the BL, AP, CP, and CSC files in their respective places and click start. Don't be alarmed if Odin stops responding for a minute or two while loading the files. The AP file is rather large.
Once this finishes and your phone reboots you will have a stock FRP unlocked S7 Active just like it was brand new.
Disclaimer: Do this at your own risk. I broke down the instructions as basic as I could, but you should have general Rom flashing knowledge / experience prior to doing this.

so wait... something like this opens the bootloader to flash custom roms and twrp?
that'll brake knox for sure... but it is possible now? can we take S7/s7 edge roms and teak em to use active button?

Flash stock rom first in step 4 then begin at step 1 again because the modified bootloader isn't compatible with the version of android that's currently on your device
i have a Verizon (well straight talk) smg930vl which im told is factory sim unlocked, planning to use att sim.
you think your process will work for my phone? ( att software on Verizon phone?)and for that matter s7 vs s7 active. or should i use the modded bootloader to get passed frp then flash stock Verizon?

No that is not what this is. You will have to get the unlock code from verizon, even then it will be limited on what it can use on the att network. like no wifi calling or RCS
binary error
Never mind I fixed the binary error. However when I load up all the bl ap cp csc etc, odin gets stuck at file analysis
Hey mate , which stock did You use , and what does the second part meant ?
So, if this unlocks the bootloader, could I flash a custom rom to it now?
This worked like a charm. Thank you so much.

Anyone have any info on how to bypass the FRP on SM-G930T variant, running G930TUVS4BRC1 (latest patch)?
will this work for my particular model and patch?
Work perfectly. Big Thank you!!!!!
Watching the screen for step 4, I keep seeing a message that says no space left on this device and the program keeps running over and over. Ideas?
password
its asking me for a password....
how long should the bat4 take to run?
I got the first 4 steps but when I try to actually flash the rom I get FAIL!(Auth) and on the phone it says "SW REV check fail: [aboot]Fused 3 > binary 2" Is there anyway to fix this? TIA
hi will this work with my s7 active being on oreo or is this only for nougat? G891AUCU3CRD6

OEM Unlock Official Verizon Google Pixel 2 XL (WORKING!) Warranty Replacement

Started with device on July 5th security patch Android Oreo 8.1. 100% Verizon device. Got replacement phone in the mail. No SIM inside. Turned it on. Plugged it in to a computer. Skipped past everything on setup. Turned on Developer options. OEM Unlock was grayed out.
Turned off automatic system updates in dev options. Turned on USB Debugging. Keep screen awake while charging. Ran ADB "adb shell pm uninstall --user 0 com.android.phone". Turned on wifi and waited a couple minutes in the chrome browser. Returned to Developer options and OEM Unlock was no longer grayed out. Ticked it.
Kept phone running for a few minutes. Turned device off and booted to fastboot. Still locked. Returned to system from bootloader. OEM Unlock still blue. Let apps update and also logged into Google account. Noticed OEM Unlock was staying unlocked through a couple reboots.
Decided to upgrade to Pie. Did it OTA. OEM Unlock stuck through the update. Shut down phone from system. Once phone was off I held down power button and the volume down button to take me to Fastboot mode. Ran "fastboot flashing unlock". BOOM! Got the the screen to say yes or no to bootloader unlock.
Device was erased because I chose yes. OEM Unlock grayed out again but in unlocked position? Hmm...ok with me. The strangest thing happened when I checked my IMEI when I was done. I had checked before I started also and I could have sworn there was different information than what I ended up with at the last check. Im tired..maybe just trippin out. The OEM Unlock toggle is available to toggle again.

Go to this link http://www.imeipro.info/check_lg.html and plug in your IMEI number. What does it say under buyer code and buyer name? Don't stop with the unlock command, you need to also unlock_critical. This will also wipe your device again but it is needed to flash the bootloader and to be "fully" unlocked.

I really think it can be done ,9nce that toggle is cooperating ,there is like there's some other step to enforce that toggle, like doing an OEM_UNLOCK permission or state change in the bootloader.I ran fastboot getvar all when toggle was enabled, there is a OEM unlock id =yes, how to pull that id idk,but I think there's still a way.
Aslo I inserted the sim with the OEM toggle enabled, but my sim was never recgonized,I guess uninstalling the com.andriod.phone is the radio,or modem? I feel like I was as close as ever just missing something Stoopid.

I tried as many permissions that I could think of when I got to that point. When I uninstalled the system app I realized that I had to get it back eventually so I did a factory reset with the toggle on and it stuck through it. I was like omg. lol Keep at it!
I also had the SIM unrecognized when I uninstalled com.android.phone. Stopped the connection to Verizon servers I think. Spoof server? JK. There's gotta be some type of encryption in whatever it says to Verizon.
i will try this if it is indeed working.

I think I may have updated to Pie before I actually did the factory reset. I knew I should have recorded my screen. Ok, I remember. I did the update to see if it would give me back my phone use and it didn't. So I ended up saying just factory resetting in Pie and it stuck and gave me phone use.

Tried it on pie, no sim, but I was active before. Oem unlock became blue, I could toggle it... But upon going into fastboot, all I got was when doing "fastboot flashing unlock" or unlock_critical was "flashing not allowed
Update: left it charging all day, upon checking up again after hours, the toggle became grey again.
Update 2: Indeed, all i get is FAILED (remote: Flashing Unlock is not allowed) and upon reboot oem unlock becomes grey again
