Anyone used UK EE firmware N9005XXUGBOF1? - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I want to change my firmware to EE (UK) firmware N9005XXUGBOF1 in order to use WiFi Calling.
Has anyone successfully flashed and used this one?
I only ask because I tried the newer version N9005XXUGBPB1 and it didn't work, something about the size not being right so I ended up not only having to factory reset but go back to my original UK no operator firmware.
I have a N9005.
Thanks a bunch

Look in item 2 for all available stock roms and item 1 for how to flash them. Here is a link for a UK unbranded rom http://www.hotfile.com/dl/235905226/e7bdf1a/I9505XXUBMGA_I9505OXXBMG3_BTU.zip.html.
thankyou very much for your help
hi,i put the firmware on with odin and said successful but my apps etc were still there ?? should they not have been removed if i changed the firmware ?and kies now says your devices current firmware version is not supported and under current firmware it says PDA MGA/PHONE MGA/CSC MG3 (VOD) ?
I PUT THIS ON WITH ODIN I9505XXUBMGA_I9505OXXBMG3_I9505XXUBMGA_HOME.tar.md5

Do a data factory reset and they should be gone, backup important files first.
hi,sorry but how do i do a factory data reset ? and i backed up my phone with kies before i installed the firmware with odin, does it matter to do this as restore will put apps etc back on ? or does this need done to remove vodafone and kies to recognise my s4 again ? also when i done a backup will it reinstall vodafone bloatware if i restore it or should i just reinstall everything ?

You can backup apps and data with Helium from Play or Appmonster also from Play that only rebackups the apps and not the data.
hi sorry been out and about, dont mind about losing apps etc, went into settings backup and reset done that but kies is still saying the same current firmware version is not supported and under current firmware it says PDA MGA/PHONE MGA/CSC MG3 (VOD) ?which looks to me that vodafone is still on my s4 ??

[Q] Want to flash to BTU - help needed

Hi All
Just had an upgrade to the Note 3. It was originally locked to 3 mobile but I have unlocked to use on O2. I'd like to get rid of the 3 mobile splash screen etc.
I've read through a few of the posts on here and I'm unsure as to how to go about doing the flash. I'm confused over the Knox thing. I am only wanting to flash the firmware not root.
Please can someone point me in the right direction......?
from what i have heard and what ppl have tried you will need to flash the SAME regions firmware as the one that came with your phone by default.. BTU has the region code "XX", so you will have to check to see your region code.. go to about phone and check it will something like this, "ZHUDMJ1 or XXUBMJ1".. the first 2 letter are the region code "ZH" and "XX" are just examples, your region code maybe different than those 2.. you can flash a different countries firmware if it has the same region code as yours

thank u for lighting me up about what firmware we need to flash to our note 3...
just want to ask if it's possible to flash this new firmware e.g XXUBMJ6
over to my rooted note 3 XXUBMJ1 and how?..help much appreciated
Anyone?
When I flashed one of the original Knox safe rooted firmwares, it inadvertently changed my CSC.
I have managed to get it back to what it should be, but the key is to use the same version as the one currently on the phone.
At the time it was MJ1 that was installed on my phone, and it was only variants of that version I used to get back to normal. The problem is when someone tries to downgrade. It wasn't really an exact science to getting it back to BTU either. More of a trial and error thing. I flashed, BTU firmware, wiped, opened recovery to check the CSC status, it still showed the wrong one, flashed again, loaded the phone up into the setup (as the phone gets wiped when changing CSC) was still bringing a foreign setup process, wiped and flashed again checked recovery and eventually it ended up where it should be.
So I think you should be able to debrand and the CSC with it to get official updates. But since they released the Note 3, flashing has become greater risk.

[Q] Bricked after NE6 bootloader flash

hey guys,
i tried the new rom by civato, for this i flashed the NE6 bootloader. the rom didn't work as expected (no data) so i tried to restore the stock rom NB7 via odin.
odin said succes, but the phone did not boot. i flashed cwm and flashed som roms from there, but i always got a freeze/bootloop, even after factory reset.
so i tried a full new flash with nand erase all. flash succeded, but i could not boot.
then i downloaded the N9005ZHUENE6 firmware from hongkong and tried to flash it, but odin always fails. now i get the "firmware upgrade encountered an issue." message and can't do anything with the phone anymore.
Can you please help me?
thank you in advance!
edit: problem solved, the NE4 pit file from sajjjjjjad did the job!

Head over to the HK thread(s) and see how to restore back to normal with Hong Kong variants it's a little different (you do have a HK version I assume? and not just risked an HK FW flash?)--- You can flash via ODIN again even with that error on the device.

Is there a difference between the international N9005 and the HK variant? my N9005 is from germany. i flashed the german firmware again and the error is gone, but the device is still in the bootloop..

Very slightly yes. More to do with some HK Software issues, that's the only N9005 firmware which shouldn't/can't be flashed on every device model N9005 - regarding your bootlooping.
Grab a PIT file, sort out what firmware you use and match them, then flash via Odin, there are a few guides and it's pretty straightforward, however you need to read properly or you risk a hard-brick.

I flashed the latest DBT firmware a couple of times, with a PIT file and without, with full nand erase and without. Odin always says passed but i get no boot sound and the device gets stuck at the boot animation.
I think the problem could be the NE6 bootloader i flashed, but if i flash the NE6 again after i flashed the NB7 firmware it doesn't boot either. Is it possible to downgrade the bootloader to another KitKat firmware?

thanks for the tip, do you have a source for the NE5? i can't find a download for this.
You can use www.sammobile.com/firmwares.
Make sure you have the correct pit file as you changed it to the hk version before

on this site i can't find a NE5 version. i flashed the ND6, device didn't boot.
so i tried to flash cwm, worked fine. then i was able to install and boot the latest cm11, but the baseband, min, prl-version, meid, imei and iccid are shown as unknown. so i tried to restore the efs backup i made via terminal emulator, it looks like it worked but when i reboot nothing changed.
any other ideas?

Odin ex4 error

Please help I was currently on the EE branded firmware on my note 3, I download the Hong Kong latest firmware from Samfimware and when I tried to install at the end I got a error "ex4" . I tried another firmware BTU firmware same problem.
Getting message to connect phone to kies and enter recovery mode but keys not recognising he phone. phone is currently stuck in download mode.
1. Is the phone bricked?
2. What's is the solution? do I need to reinstall the original firmware, or any UK firmware?
Any help appreciated.

ODIN Stock Firmware Change O2 to EE

Is it possible to flash a stock O2 Note 4 with EE Note 4 ROM? I want the ability to use the EE NFC SIM with the tap an pay app EE app and also when the WiFi calling capability arrives in EEs ROM too.
Do I need to hack the phone and void my warranty/KNOX by rooting to try and change CSC or something for it to be allowed?
It did accept the German Lollipop 5.01 BOC3 update via Odin but I'm damned if I can get the EE 4.4 ROM onto it.
As it stands my Original O2 Supplied JB4.4 Note 4, went to LP 5.01 BOB4 then LP 5.01 BOC3 all via Odin but if I try to downgrade to the EE ROM it fails at hidden partition with an error about the image size being <512000. Do I need to donwgrade to the original O2 4.4 ROM before trying the EE 4.4 ROM? Do I need a .PIT file to repartition my storage?
For ref it is SIM unlocked via a code from O2 so currently runs EE.
I guess I really need to do more research but if anyone know s the answer I'd be grateful if they could shed some light for me.
Thanks.
Dan.
